Chapter 180: Who Gave You Permission?

Chapter 180: Who Gave You Permission?

"The Zhou Family and the Wang Family don’t always get along. In fact, there were some rumors that suggested that now that Wang Chao had returned to the city, Zhou Jun Jie would be ousted," supplied Cheng Bo Jing with a smile on his face.

"After all, General Wang Chao is considered to be the Prince of City A," added Si Dong as he got up off the floor and went into the kitchen to find something to eat.

In front of everyone, he picked up the dish in front of him and tossed the whole thing in the garbage.

"Sorry, I would have washed it out, but I really didn’t want to touch whatever was in it," he continued, wiping his hands.

Wu Bai Hee turned white at his actions, and she turned to look at Zhou Jun Jie. "All that food," she gasped, the tears coming to her eyes as she looked up at the man beside her. "It could have fed a whole family in the sums with leftovers for the next day."

"It’s okay, Princess, these men won’t be getting any supplies from us from here on out," sneered Zhou Jun Jie as he looked around the room at the four strangers.

He wasn’t able to threaten Bin An Sha; they needed him too much to take the chance on upsetting him. There was no one Zhou Jun Jie trusted more to deliver his child than one of the best doctors in the world.

"I am heartbroken," smiled Bai Long Qiang as he stood up from the couch. He strolled out of the room like the threat of starvation wasn’t that big of a deal to him.

And technically, with Fan Teng Fei’s supplies and space, it really wasn’t.

"No, we can’t do that. Just because they don’t like me is not a reason that they should starve. The poor men have probably been trapped outside since everything happened. They don’t know better," interjected Wu Bai Hee as she laid her two hands on Zhou Jun Jie’s arm.

"We need to be supportive and encouraging despite our differences, or else the human race doesn’t stand a chance," she continued, a lone tear appearing in her eyes as she briefly looked around the room.

"Have you been outside to see what is going on?" asked Ye Yao Zu, speaking up for the first time since the couple entered the apartment.

"I have," she nodded sagely, a sad look appearing on her face. "I was out there for almost a year before my father brought us here to the city. The sanctuary hadn’t been set up yet. I am extremely proud to say that Zhou Jun Jie managed to do all of that by himself. And under his care, this place has thrived."

"I see," smiled Ye Yao Zu. He was the only one to opt to sleep in a tee-shirt and sweats, so he was the only one not being openly stared at by the woman. How her husband could stand the way she looked at other men was a mystery to him.

But maybe he was trying to establish a relationship like what they wanted with Wang Tian Mu.

Either way, he could practically feel the rot coming off the woman, and he wanted her out of their place before Rip and Fan Teng Fei came back with their woman.

Both he and Si Dong were spirit users, and while it was true that they couldn’t feel any power from her, it didn’t mean that they couldn’t feel her subtle manipulation. It was like standing in a puddle of sludge, watching it as it tried to go up your leg.

And by the way Zhou Jun Jie was acting; he was completely covered in the sludge.

However, it probably wasn’t entirely his fault. No one could feel another’s power, so it made complete sense that he and everyone else took her at her word. Hell, even a spirit user that was not as strong as them might not be able to sense her.

In fact, the only reason why Ye Yao Zu could feel her intrusion was because he was stronger than her.

The longer he stared at the woman, the more he understood her. She hated the fact that none of the men in the room other than her own were falling at her feet.

It was the subtlest of movements, her mouth twitching down for a milli-second, the corner of her eyes tightening a fraction.

Not so much that anyone would be able to tell just at a glance. But this was what he trained for.

Wu Bai Hee was a viper disguised as a mouse. And anyone that stood in her way would feel her fangs.

"How about this? You three can go out as a team and see what you can salvage in terms of food and supplies. You can keep 40% of whatever you bring in, and the rest will act as a payment toward your lodgings. I assume that Doctor Bin won’t be willing to have you here for long. I am actually surprised that he has even let you stay as long as you have."

"A house guest is like a fish; after three days, they start to stink, and you need to get rid of them," came a new voice. Ye Yao Zu and the others stiffened before they quickly went over to the hallway where Rip was carrying their woman in his arms.

"Isn’t that right, Rip," smiled Wang Tian Mu, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes.

The monster holding her in his arms chuckled, "I can’t say I’ve heard that one before," he mused as he walked over to the couch and sat down with her in his lap. "But you aren’t wrong."

"It’s fine," assured Bin An Sha, coming over to the couch. He sat down beside Rip before any of the others could take the spot. "I was thinking of taking out some of the walls between this place and the one next door and expanding the condo out that way."

Zhou Jun Jie raised an eyebrow and glared at the doctor. "And just who gave you permission to do that?" he asked sarcastically.
