Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story
Chapter 181: You Know The Healer?

Chapter 181: You Know The Healer?

Bin An Sha raised an eyebrow and smirked at Zhou Jun Jie. He hadn’t asked permission to do jack shit since he managed to get out of the organization.

Hell, he hadn’t really asked permission for anything while he was in that shithole, either.

So if Zhou Jun Jie thought he could accomplish something that the Grand Master couldn’t, then he had another thing coming.

"Funny, I don’t remember asking permission. But that’s fine. If you don’t want me to tear down the walls of the unused apartments to make my condo bigger, I’ll just go find accommodations that work better for everyone involved. However, I cannot guarantee that those accommodations would be in City A," chuckled Bin An Sha as he studied the woman in front of him.

The fire in Wang Tian Mu’s eyes sparkled as they looked at each other. However, her face was still pale, and there were dark circles under her eyes. "Food," he grunted, looking away just long enough to deliver his message to Cheng Bo Jing and Si Dong, who were still in the kitchen.

The two men nodded their heads and started to dig through the cupboards to find something for her to eat.

"And who are you?" asked Wu Bai Hee as she turned her attention to the only other woman in the room. Bin An Sha knew that it wasn’t a matter of politeness that she asked for Wang Tian Mu’s name. She just hated not being the center of attention.

"Not interested," replied his Firefly, not once looking away from him. "You still have to help me with my hair."

"My pleasure, Firefly. Let me get rid of the guests, and I’ll meet you in the bathroom, okay?"

"Sounds good," she replied, looking up at Rip. The giant nodded and, picking her up, carried her back down the hall.

"Who is she?" asked Wu Bai Hee, her eyes never leaving the Wang Tian Mu. Even when the other woman had disappeared into the bedroom, she continued to stare down the hallway.

"She is a patient," replied Bin An Sha, coming to his feet. He turned around and looked at Zhou Jun Jie and Wu Bai Hee. "And, since the food you brought has already been thrown out, there is no need for you to stay. You know where the door is."

With those parting words, he followed his Firefly down the hall, not caring about whether or not the couple listened. After all, there were five other guys in the living room who could make sure that they managed to find their way out.

"What? When did the great doctor become a hairdresser?" sneered Zhou Jun Jie, not liking being dismissed like that.

He was the controller of City A. It was at his whim that people came or went... lived or died..., and if these men weren’t going to obey the rules, then there was no need for them to be there.

"We need him here," whispered Wu Bai He, placing a hand on his chest. "People know he is here, and they are willing to pay a lot of money to be able to see him."

"That doesn’t grant him a carte blanche to do what he wants. He still has to follow the same rules as everyone else. Being a healer doesn’t grant him unlimited privileges," grunted Zhou Jun Jie.

"Oh, being a healer is a big deal then?" asked Cheng Bo Jing as he spread peanut butter onto a couple of slices of bread.

"Healers are rare," smiled Wu Bai Hee, turning around so she could look at the other man. "They are able to heal all injuries. To have one in our city has made City A THE place to live in this new world."

"Huh," grunted Si Dong as he dug into his sandwich. "I guess that makes sense. I mean, the rumor spreading about the Healer was one of the reasons why Camp Hell was such a popular destination for all those VIPs."

"It wasn’t like Alpha would let her heal just anyone," pointed out Ye Yao Zu as Cheng Bo Jing put a plate in front of him. The five of them were waiting until the outsiders left before Fan Teng Fei took out the food for Wang Tian Mu. She needed proper nutrition and only the best of ingredients for her meals now.

There was even a Bunsen burner in Fan Teng Fei’s supplies, thanks to their woman, so making her some rice porridge with grilled chicken was entirely possible.

"You know Camp Hell?" asked Zhou Jun Jie, sharing a look with Wu Bai Hee.

"Intimately," assured Cheng Bo Jing.

"And you know the Healer?"

"Intimately," repeated Bai Long Qiang.

"If you can arrange a meeting with the Healer, we would be... grateful," spoke Wu Bai Hee, sharing another look with Zhou Jun Jie. If they wanted to keep power in this city, they needed another healer... one that was more compliant than Bin An Sha.

Right now, he held them in a deadlock. He did whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, without consequences, but as soon as they got another healer, then they wouldn’t need to put up with him anymore.

But it wasn’t like they were kind enough to let anywhere else have him either.

"We’ll see what we can do," assured Ye Yao Zu as he stared at Zhou Jun Jie. "Unfortunately, the Camp was destroyed by Wang Chao and his team. We don’t know where the Healer is right now. But he tends to appear out of nowhere."

"The Healer is a man?" asked Zhou Jun Jie. That would prove to be even better since female Healers didn’t seem to be as powerful as the men.

His sister was significantly weaker than Bin An Sha, which was one of the reasons why he stressed that she should stay in City J. If she even had a fraction of his power, then his problems would have been solved a long time ago.

"He is," agreed Bai Long Qiang. "We were in the military together."

"That’s perfect," muttered Wu Bai Hee, looking up. "We’ll make sure to let the guards know that any military men are allowed free passage."

"That is for the best. He tends to keep a low profile; he doesn’t want anyone to treat him differently just because he is the Healer," nodded Cheng Bo Jing as he bit into his own sandwich.

"Thank you so much for that information." Not wanting to lose the advantage, Wu Bai Hee placed her hand on Zhou Jun Jie and gently pushed him toward the door. "We’ll talk to you some other time."
