Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 1230: Does Giving Birth Hurt?

Chapter 1230: Chapter 1230: Does Giving Birth Hurt?

Aunt Waverly had made some pastries for Jasmine Yale and squeezed a glass of fresh orange juice.

Jasmine took it and whispered with Ann Nolan in the bedroom.

Little Candy was sleeping so peacefully, unmoving, with her little paws raised, occasionally smacking her lips.

The floor was covered with a soft blanket, which felt warm even underfoot.

"Let’s go to the supermarket together later," Ann said, "and buy some food. We’ll make hotpot when we come back, I’ve been missing the taste."

"Sure, I’ve been alone in Cakago, and nobody’s been around to join me."

"Is Mr. Carbon at work?"

"Yeah, I called him. He’s been on a business trip these past two days, quite busy."

"I’ll go and change, you keep Little Candy company for a bit."

"Okay."

Ann got up to change her clothes.

Jasmine bent down beside the crib, looking at the well-behaved Little Princess, feeling waves of tenderness in her heart.

"Little Candy, I’m your Auntie Jasy," Jasmine took her small hand.

The little one’s hand was soft and squishy, even softer than Chale Cheney’s.

The little one was sleeping so sweetly, completely still.

Jasmine just lay there by the bed, staring at her without blinking.

So adorable.

She dreamed of having a daughter just like her.

After a while, Ann came out in her clothes.

She had bounced back well after giving birth, looking even healthier than before.

When life goes smoothly and the mood is good, the whole person changes.

At least in Jasmine’s eyes, Ann had changed a lot; she was no longer the Ann who had struggled to divorce and had been bullied by Zaiden Santos.

Ann wore a black, long coat with her long hair tied up with a sapphire blue hairband, still looking very elegant.

"Let’s go, there’s a supermarket just downstairs. We can take a look," Ann said.

"Miss, do you need me to come with you?" Aunt Waverly asked.

"No need, Aunt Waverly. Just remember to take care of Little Candy. I’ll be back soon."

"Okay."

Jasmine and Ann walked downstairs shoulder to shoulder.

At the corner was a supermarket, where they picked out items while chatting.

"Ann, does it hurt to give birth?"

"It wasn’t too bad. Little Candy didn’t trouble me much, and because she was lightweight, I was out of the delivery room in an hour."

"Haha, Little Candy is so considerate."

"But she can be a handful; if you lived at my place, you would know just how fussy she gets. She doesn’t like to sleep at night, a real night owl."

"I really wish I could take her home and look after her for a few days," Jasmine said enviously.

"I actually would like you to take her home for a few days," Ann laughed.

The two of them picked items off the shelves and, after getting all the condiments, headed to the fresh food area together.

Just then, Ann’s phone rang.

"Hello, Zaiden."

"Are you at home? I’m in Old York now."

"Jasmine is here, and we’re at the supermarket buying ingredients for hotpot. We plan to have it for lunch."

"Isn’t that a lucky coincidence?"

"It sure is; being timely is better than being early. I know what you like to eat; I’ll get some for you."

"Then today, I’m really in luck," Zachary Santos’s voice was smooth, naturally steady and composed, "Is Candy well-behaved?"

"No, she isn’t."

Zachary laughed, "You must have starved our Little Princess. "

"I did not!" Ann retorted, "I take very good care of her. Come and see for yourself, see if the Little Princess hasn’t gained weight."

"Wait for me, I’m on my way from the airport."

"Okay, it’s cold outside. It just snowed yesterday, be careful."

"Okay."

Ann and Zaiden talked on the phone for a bit, and Jasmine overheard everything.
