Chapter 1231: Chapter 1231: Kidnapped and Counting Money for the Kidnapper
When they returned with big and small bags in tow, Zachary Santos had already arrived at Ann Nolan’s house.
The bedroom door was open, and Zachary Santos was bending over to pick up Little Candy.
"When did she wake up?" Ann Nolan hurried over.
"She was already awake when I arrived," Zachary Santos said with a smile.
The man still looked the same, but after a year of tempering, his bearing had grown more composed and seasoned. His grey sweater accentuated his tall and athletic figure.
Little Candy wasn’t crying; her large eyes were looking around everywhere.
She was very familiar with Zachary Santos, probably because she hadn’t seen him in a long time, she reached out for a hug.
"Bubba..." the little one was happily causing a fuss.
Zachary Santos was skilled at holding children; Little Candy liked him very much.
"She was fussy all night yesterday, but today she still has the energy to play with you," Ann Nolan said, amused and exasperated.
"Maybe it’s because she hasn’t seen me for a long time; she missed me."
"Nonsense, how could she miss you when she’s just a bit older?"
"Of course, the child you gave birth to must be smart."
Ann Nolan’s face turned red when he complimented her subtly, "Jasmine keeps saying she wants to see the baby, I’ll call her over."
Saying this, Ann Nolan walked out.
Zachary Santos simply carried Little Candy out for a walk.
Little Candy’s big eyes were rolling around looking everywhere, eventually settling on the unfamiliar figure of Jasmine Yale.
Probably because she hadn’t seen Jasmine Yale before, she reached out her little hand towards her.
Jasmine Yale was delighted to see her awake.
"Little Candy, can Auntie hold you?" Jasmine Yale reached out her hand.
Little Candy seemed to really like Jasmine Yale, opening her arms and lunging into her embrace.
Zachary Santos handed the little one over to her.
The little one was neither too heavy nor too light, feeling like a small cat in her arms, very comfortable.
Little Candy grabbed at Jasmine Yale’s hair for a while, then her clothes, finding it very amusing.
"I’ll go help you guys with the hot pot," Zachary Santos said.
"That’s hard work..." Ann Nolan laughed.
"It’s rare for me to cook," Zachary Santos headed to the kitchen.
The living room was filled with joy; Jasmine Yale and Ann Nolan were both playing with Little Candy.
Little Candy stood on Jasmine Yale’s lap, giggling and having a great time.
"She’s not shy at all, always so happy to meet strangers. She’ll even help them count their money if someone abducts her, silly girl," Ann Nolan pinched her face.
Little Candy didn’t understand and just kept laughing.
Jasmine Yale felt that Zachary Santos, Ann Nolan, and Little Candy looked like a family, and the atmosphere in the entire house was exceptionally harmonious.
"Ann, I think CEO Santos is very good," Jasmine Yale whispered.
"Yeah, he is good."
Unfortunately, the person she had met back then was Zaiden Santos, not Zachary Santos.
What if she had met Zachary Santos first?
Such hypothetical questions, she did not like to think about.
Now, having Little Candy was happiness enough.
The man named Zaiden Santos, along with his name, was slowly being erased from her heart.
After a year, her impression of that man was reduced to nothing but harsh words and torment in bed.
In more than twenty years, no one had ever hurt her as deeply as Zaiden Santos had.
It seemed he truly left no good impression on her.
Ann Nolan gave a wry smile.
Noon.
Zachary Santos finished preparing the hot pot and even personally cooked two dishes, filling the dining table.
The aroma filled the air in all directions.
"CEO Santos’s cooking is really good," Jasmine Yale complimented.
"Ann said you like shrimp?" Zachary Santos particularly made a spicy shrimp dish, "Try it and see."
"Thank you, CEO Santos."
The dining table was filled with warmth and joy.
Jasmine Yale hadn’t experienced this kind of warmth in a very long time.
