Chapter 1229: Chapter 1229: Little Candy Looks Like You
Ann Nolan led Jasmine Yale into the bedroom.
The bedroom was styled in a very minimalist fashion, with a warm and refined light blue color scheme throughout.
The baby crib was pink and adorned with many cloth dolls.
The room was both quiet and gentle, immediately conveying a sense of pleasure upon entering.
Jasmine bent over, gazing at the Little Princess in the crib.
"Oh my, how adorable," Jasmine couldn’t help but reach out and touch her with a finger.
Her chubby cheeks, long eyelashes, so tiny, she was like a little kitten.
Ann said she had been light at birth, smaller than most other children.
Jasmine couldn’t take her eyes off the little one on the bed, who was sleeping soundly, not moving an inch, her hair thick, as if carved from jade.
She watched, almost spellbound.
If her own child had lived, would they have looked like this upon birth? Surely they would have been cute, lovely, right?
Who knows if it would have been another Little Princess.
Jasmine laughed, her pupils filled with the tiny figure.
"Baby..." Jasmine stroked her gently.
The little one smacked her lips and continued sleeping.
Jasmine carefully slipped the bracelet on her wrist, not too large or too small, it fit just right.
She noticed a delicate gold locket around Little Candy’s neck.
"Ann, did you buy this? It’s very pretty."
"No, Evan Guerrero bought it."
"Is he in Old York?"
"When I was on pregnancy leave, he was always in Old York. He just returned to the country a few days ago to take care of some business."
Although Ann didn’t spell it out, Jasmine understood that Evan Guerrero had been taking care of Ann all this time.
Jasmine felt it was really good to have someone to take care of you, especially since Ann was orphaned and alone.
"When are you going back to work?"
"Zachary still won’t let me go to the company," Ann smiled, "Actually, I’ve already rested enough, and my body has recovered very quickly, thanks to Aunt Waverly’s excellent care."
"Then it’s best to rest some more and spend time with Little Candy."
"Yeah, I hope to spend more time with the baby every day, not in a hurry to go back to work."
Ann looked at the Little Princess in the crib with doting eyes.
Jasmine watched intently as well.
"Ann, Little Candy looks like you, with double eyelids, a high nose bridge, and even the cheeks—they all resemble you."
If anything reminded her of Zaiden Santos, it might... just be the mouth that was a bit similar.
"Really? Zachary also says she looks like me."
"It’s good that she looks like you. She’ll definitely be a little beauty."
Ann happily gazed at the baby, grateful that she hadn’t aborted the child due to a momentary fixation.
If Zaiden hadn’t shown up in the hospital that time, the baby wouldn’t be here.
Nor would there be this little one, peacefully sleeping in the crib.
This year, her life was smooth, everything was going her way.
A big part of that was because Zaiden had taken care of everything for her.
Zaiden, although a young man, was considerate and meticulous.
From pregnancy to the birth of Little Candy, Ann never had to worry about anything, her year had been plain sailing.
"I really want to hold her," Jasmine leaned over the edge of the crib, watching the baby with longing.
Thinking she might never be able to get pregnant again, Jasmine felt a slight sorrow spreading through her heart.
"Let’s wait until she wakes up, then you can hold her. Do you like children that much?" Ann said with a smile.
"Yes, especially such a beautiful Little Princess."
"Jasmine, how many days are you planning to stay in Old York this time?"
"I’ll stay for a week. I want to spend more time with Little Candy, and just then, Yukon will be on vacation, and I’ll go back to Cakago with him."
