Chapter 1225: Chapter 1225: There Was Someone in My Heart

Three days later, Jasmine Yale arrived in Old York, and she brought Sweet Kitty along with her.

Early in the morning, she left her luggage at the hotel and quietly headed to the bank where Yukon Carbon worked.

Today was a workday, and she planned to sneak a peek at what he was doing, though she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to see him.

Following the address, she stood at the bank’s entrance, looking around.

Just as she was getting anxious from not spotting Yukon,

"Beep beep" —

A car honked behind her.

Jasmine turned around hurriedly, and to her surprise, it was Yukon’s car!

She ran over with a smile and approached the driver’s side, "Hey, I was about to look for you at the bank."

Yukon Carbon, seated in the driver’s position, curled his lips into a smile, "Why have you come?"

"To see you."

"Why didn’t you call me in advance?"

"I wanted to surprise you," Jasmine laughed. "Sweet Kitty is here too."

A French middle-aged man in the backseat said in French, "Mr. Carbon, is this your girlfriend?"

Yukon replied with a smile in French, "Yes, my girlfriend."

Jasmine, not understanding their conversation, just stood under the sun with a silly smile.

The French man suddenly understood and gave Jasmine an "OK" sign with his hand.

"I have to take a client to the bank first, wait for me a moment," said Yukon.

"Okay."

Jasmine waited for him right there.

The sunlight poured down from above, carrying a comfortable warmth, with no trace of winter’s chill.

Jasmine was wearing an off-white coat and looked sweet and delicate, especially her bright, sparkling eyes.

Soon, Yukon joined her.

He was dressed in a black suit with a meticulously tied tie.

It was the first time Jasmine had seen him dressed so formally and she couldn’t help but take a few extra glances.

"What were you saying to your client just now? I saw him smiling at me," Jasmine asked curiously.

"Guess."

"I don’t want to guess."

"If you don’t guess, I won’t tell you," Yukon laughed as well. "Why did you suddenly come to Old York?"

"My friend... the Ann I mentioned to you before, she’s moving to Old York, she’s going to work here permanently."

"You came to meet her?"

"Also to see you," Jasmine pulled out a box of cookies from her bag. "I just made these yesterday, brought them especially for you."

"Did you make them yourself?"

"Yes!"

Yukon accepted them, "Let’s go have lunch, it’s on me."

"Sure, what do you do at the bank that looks so impressive?"

"You wouldn’t understand if I told you."

"You speak French too?"

"We are an international bank, I know a bit of French."

As he said this, Yukon remembered the box of French chocolates that Jasmine had thrown away, the Princess series.

There were some things he had never asked Jasmine, and there was no need to.

He didn’t know if it was a man’s sixth sense, but he understood that there had been someone in Jasmine’s heart.

He wasn’t sure if that person still existed now, but he was certain there had been someone.

"You’re amazing, Mr. Carbon. Is there anything you don’t understand?"

"There’s too much that I don’t understand; I only know a little about these things. Let’s go, I’ll drive you."

Ann Nolan’s flight was in the afternoon; after lunch, it would be the perfect time for Jasmine to pick up Ann at the airport.

She had missed her terribly after half a year apart.

But more than that, she was worried.

"I might not have time to accompany you this afternoon, I need to handle a complaint."

"That’s okay, I’m heading to the airport to pick up a friend anyway."
