Chapter 1219: Chapter 1219: The Father of the Child in Her Belly
Ann Nolan sat down opposite him, facing him.
Zaiden Santos pushed the document in front of her, "You can take a look."
Ann Nolan bowed her head and reached for the documents on the table.
Among them was the divorce agreement she had given him at the beginning of the year. She hadn’t made any demands at the time, but he had still given her a portion of his property.
She flipped through each page, and he had signed his name where necessary.
"Santos Mansion is a property under my parents’ names; I can’t give it to you, but all properties under my name will be yours," Zaiden Santos said indifferently.
Ann Nolan knew he owned many villas and apartments, and this wasn’t anything unusual.
People like them, heirs like him, habitually bought luxury houses and cars.
Ann Nolan put down the agreement and said indifferently, "I came here without a penny, and I will leave without wanting anything. Whatever isn’t mine, I won’t take a thing."
Her expression was indifferent, her face calm, and her cream-white coat made her look particularly serene.
Apart from calmness and composure, she didn’t know how else to express her feelings inside.
Even with raging emotions, she had to face dangers unafraid.
She had been prepared for this divorce for a long time, and there was no surprise when Zaiden Santos brought it up.
He really picked a perfect day for it.
He was indeed the father of the child in her womb, a bond between father and son, a kind of telepathy.
"Consider it compensation for me; after all, you slept with me for a year, right?" Zaiden Santos said lazily on the couch, his eyes dim, "No matter how you look at it, this little thing is nothing."
"What do you take me for? A lover just to sleep with?"
"I’ve been traveling for business, and suddenly it felt like our relationship was meaningless," Zaiden Santos frowned, "It’s quite simply boredom. I had said before, once we’re bored, we’ll divorce. This is what you’ve been longing for, right? I think you don’t need to be too self-righteous. Take what you can, so you don’t need to rent somewhere else."
Zaiden Santos still had the demeanor of a distinguished son; his handsome face wore an indifferent chill.
Not a hint of panic.
Seemingly courteous and gentlemanly, yet his spoken words were as cutting as a knife, every move lethal.
Ann Nolan admitted that she was not as adept at hurting people as Zaiden Santos was.
He could tarnish her reputation and dignity by calling her ugly and unsophisticated when outside; similarly, he was all too comfortable with these recent remarks, without any sign of shame.
"I’m sorry, but I don’t want any of your things, nor do I have any desire for them," Ann Nolan said with a pale and powerless smile.
"Not giving you compensation wouldn’t sit right with me, after all, you’ve been with me for over a year."
"If you insist on giving me something, then in my name, donate it to a charity."
"Why bother? We’ve been together for over a year; it’s not necessary to do this," Zaiden Santos was, nevertheless, resigned.
"I don’t want to get entangled with property issues. Even if you give it to me, I’ll donate it," Ann Nolan was very determined, "Zaiden Santos, I just need your stance. Now that the divorce agreement is signed, we won’t see each other again, right?"
She stared into his eyes, seeking a conclusive answer.
Zaiden Santos almost didn’t hesitate and smiled, "Of course. Aren’t you joking? Once the divorce agreement is signed, why would we see each other again?"
"Does Grandfather know about this?"
"As for Grandfather... I’ll explain it to him. You don’t need to worry."
"I hope Mr. Santos will do as he says; may we part on good terms."
"I, Zaiden Santos, do have that much credibility."
