Chapter 1220: Chapter 1220: With the Lights Off, They’re All Similar

Ann Nolan took the agreement on the table, divided it into two parts, and stuffed one copy into her bag.

"Thank you for finally letting me leave before I’ve turned into an old hag. In this regard, I seem to have you to thank," Ann said, sitting face to face with him like two familiar strangers.

"I really am tired of it, there’s nothing interesting in bed either, your looks, body, personality, nothing excites me at all," Zaiden Santos sneered.

"That must have been tough for Mr. Santos, this year has been quite an ordeal, hasn’t it?"

"Ordeal? Hardly, once the lights are out, they’re all the same," Zaiden chuckled lightly. "I see my little brother treats you like a treasure though, since he treats you like one, I’ll let him have you; his taste is truly terrible."

Ann clenched her hands on the sofa, his words making her tremble, her eyes gleaming with ferocity.

She hatedly stared at Zaiden Santos, her gaze burning intense.

She really didn’t know how she ever fell for such a man, she was truly blind.

"Zaiden Santos, you’re really something," Ann gritted her teeth, "I wish you happiness in the future, may you marry a woman you love, have children, and live a lifetime together."

"I will," he said, smiling at her.

His smile at the corner of his lips seemed like a huge mockery to Ann, laughing at the youth and price she had paid over the years.

A sudden spasm in her lower abdomen, Ann covered her stomach with one hand.

She knew, she had really been angered by him.

He was capable of that.

She stared at him with wide eyes, watching his emotionless, tranquil face.

"Zaiden Santos, you should have signed this a long time ago, otherwise you could’ve been married to the woman you love by now. Why wait until now? You may have had time to wait, but she may not have been able to."

"Is my business any of your concern, huh?"

"Heh, my bad for talking too much," Ann said with a scornful laugh, her face deathly pale, "Anything else? If not, I’m heading back."

"Take your things with you."

"I’ve already taken what I need to the apartment, the rest, you deal with it."

"You don’t want the ring in the bedroom either?" Zaiden glanced at her indifferently, "That ring is quite valuable."

"Have you ever truly given it to me? Since you haven’t, why would I need it?" A marriage that didn’t even have wedding photos, she knew... it was a mistake from the start.

"Oh, then forget it," Zaiden showed little emotion, "Ann, did I live up to your expectations? I’ve long noticed that you have different feelings for my brother."

"I told you, your brother is better than you in every way, it’s normal for me to feel differently about him, isn’t it?" Ann smiled.

"What did he see in you?" Zaiden scoffed.

Ann couldn’t stay in the Santos Mansion any longer, she stood up, shouldered her bag.

"Mr. Santos, I wish you happiness," she said coldly as she glanced at him, her eyes sharp as knives, a good breakup.

"Likewise."

Ann left the living room wearing slippers and walked towards the exit.

The air still held the remnants of her fragrance, the unique scent of Gardenia.

Zaiden Santos didn’t see her out; she walked to the Santos Mansion gate alone.

The Santos Mansion was still the same, she hadn’t been back for almost half a year, and nothing had changed here.

This time, leaving, she would never come back to this place in her life.

Here, her one-and-a-half-year marriage was buried, and this time it was finally, completely over.

From now on, the lady of the house would change her name.
