Chapter 1186: Chapter 1186: It’s Been 53 Days Since We Last Met

He forced her to meet his gaze. Ann Nolan almost fell, her hand bracing against his chest.

"I don’t understand finance; don’t ask me about this sort of thing," Ann said in a flat tone.

"I’ve also heard that Evan Guerrero wants to acquire TR—your former employer—and is already drafting the plan," Zaiden Santos’s eyes were cold, like the winds of midwinter.

"Don’t ask me about financial matters; I don’t know CEO Santos’s plans."

In truth, Ann didn’t know about it.

TR was extraordinary in Landon, how could it be easily acquired?

"You’re good at dodging the important stuff, just saying don’t ask you, and I shouldn’t ask? Huh?" Zaiden’s fingers tightened, his teeth clenched, "To what extent have you and Evan Guerrero progressed? Letting him do so much for you."

Ann was provoked to laughter: "Long time no see, and you’re still unreasonable. Who’s been whispering in your ear? CEO Santos just took over at Golden Growth today; where did you hear any rumors about me and CEO Santos? Zaiden, you can eat whatever you want, but don’t talk nonsense. Be reasonable."

Ann was very disappointed in him.

It had been almost two months since they last met.

And he was still behaving like this.

Ann didn’t avoid him; she looked at his sullen face which looked rather ugly.

As if he was very angry.

It had been two months, and there was an undeniable tiredness in his eyes, his appearance that of someone indulgent in excesses.

He looked several years older, but Ann no longer had any interest in understanding him.

When they first got married, she used to eagerly wait for him to come home.

Later, no matter how much she hoped, it never happened, and she was disappointed.

She couldn’t remember when she stopped hoping, but by now, she wasn’t even interested in seeing him at all.

His eyes, though sharp, showed a tired pallor.

Compared to Zaiden at this moment, Ann’s youthful vitality was striking.

She had already changed out of her black and white suit and put on her ginger-yellow sweater, which made her skin look even whiter.

"Ann, being so close to Evan Guerrero, aren’t you at all concerned about appearances?"

"Why should I be? My relationship with CEO Santos is strictly professional. Others don’t know about my relationship with you, let alone with CEO Santos?"

"Don’t you have a clue in your heart? Don’t you know to keep a distance from your own uncle-in-law? Ann, others might not know, but don’t you?"

"You are my husband, so what?" Ann’s eyes remained unflustered.

She didn’t understand the purpose of his sudden outburst.

It had been a long time since she had seen Evan Guerrero; today was his first day at Golden Growth.

Moreover, it was just a morning; they had a press conference, a morning meeting, and a celebration banquet.

All public and rightful events, yet in Zaiden’s view, they seemed so disgraceful.

Ann didn’t care about his thoughts. He could think whatever he wanted.

She wasn’t in the mood to explain.

Right now, she felt dizzy.

"Ann, blame me for not fulfilling my duties as a husband?"

"Don’t... I don’t blame you. Even if you don’t come back for a year and a half, I won’t blame you." Ann softly laughed, "Really, just don’t come back anymore, let’s not meet again."

"We haven’t seen each other for 53 days, and after 53 days, you tell me this?"

Ann was stunned, a look of astonishment in her eyes.

days?

She only remembered it being almost two months, not this exact number.
