Chapter 852: Chapter 550 Evil Beast Spirit_3
The Half-Blue Dragon undoubtedly possessed this kind of magical immunity and would not be affected in the slightest. The paralyzing effect of the terrifying lightning energy would aid in subduing the Evil Beast Spirit.
Everything happened as Gaven desired; the berserk lightning energy swept directly over the body of the Half-Blue Dragon Warrior without causing any harm, whereas the Evil Beast Spirit ended up sprawling on the ground, having been blown back several meters.
This time, Gaven no longer held back; he immediately activated the Revenge Mark, then pulled out his Death Roar and fired a shot directly into the black tiger’s head of the Evil Beast Spirit.
The body of the Evil Beast Spirit, still partially paralyzed, had all the instinctual Evasion and Reflex Evasion feats, yet it couldn’t perform any, being hit squarely and solidly.
Its head burst on the spot.
As for whether it exploded from the blast or an internal implosion from the Revenge, that was unknown, and no longer important.
Unless you have a regeneration ability of more than ten points, and a chance to regenerate after your head is gone, or possess a corresponding Special Ability, you’re pretty much considered dead.
The Evil Beast Spirit, though powerful, had no such ability.
At the moment the Evil Beast Spirit died, a blood-red vortex appeared above its head, pulling its soul from its body. Before being swallowed up, the Evil Beast Spirit still bellowed madly: "I’ll come back, I’ll come back to find you for revenge. I will, bit by bit, eradicate everything and everyone associated with you."
"If I could kill you once, I can kill you a second time," Gaven replied coldly to the Evil Beast Spirit, not taking its threat seriously at all.
Though the Evil Beast Spirit could resurrect, the process was extremely lengthy. The stronger the strength, the longer the resurrection, tied to their Life Dice—each Life Dice required an additional month. This Evil Beast Spirit had at least fifteen Life Dice, meaning resurrection was a matter for a year later.
By that time, he would most likely have returned to the Legendary realm himself.
In fact, Gaven had a way to completely keep them at bay—Undead Vengeance Realm.
This had been effectively verified on the Six-armed Snake Demon and could thwart a demon’s soul from returning to the Abyss, and naturally, it worked just as well on devils.
But it could be used only once every ten days, which added a considerable limitation.
With the decisive battle against Efanso imminent, this was one of his trump cards that couldn’t just be thrown out casually, especially when there was an even more powerful Rakshasa to deal with later.
A Rakshasa Evil Beast Spirit posed a significantly higher threat level than Nadaruun Evil Beast Spirits.
Nadaruun Evil Beast Spirits were devils of simple minds and strong bodies, molded from their own evil essence, which is why their nature tended towards brutality and simplicity. They were more adept at using assassination tactics to solve problems than at concoctions of deception; involving them meant merely being cautious of a super assassin or at most, a group of super assassins’ assassination attempts.
Akechazha Evil Beast Spirits were different; they were condensed from the most powerful, most cunning, and most evil devil essences. They were all masters in spellcasting, particularly in the Necromancer System.
Most importantly, they inherited the devil’s characteristic of conspiring from behind the scenes, utilizing elaborate networks of spies, assassins, and intelligent Undead Creatures to accomplish their nefarious schemes.
To fulfill their plans, they used their Transformation abilities to replace someone and then lay dormant for years, even decades.
The devil hierarchy was just as effective among these Evil Beast Spirits, and the Nadaruun Evil Beast Spirits, upon encountering an Akechazha, would have no choice but to pledge allegiance and serve their evil plans.
Considering their traits, the symptoms described by Efanso matched several aspects, particularly with a Nadaruun Evil Beast Spirit lurking nearby, which led Gaven unavoidably to speculate.
When that Nadaruun Evil Beast Spirit was blasted dead by Gaven, a ripple-like fluctuation of Magic Power occurred and its Body Type began to twist and stretch, transforming back into a humanoid body covered with black fur. Interestingly, it held its short daggers upward in its palms, and even though it reverted to its original form, it couldn’t repair the already shattered head; the remaining part was still recognizable, not as a human head, but that of a beastly creature.
"Evil Beast Spirit? Devil? Captain Hark was actually disguised as a devil? Good heavens, we’ve been working with a devil all along; when we die, will we too fall into Hell like him?"
"Whether or not we fall into Hell, I’m not going to die here today, definitely not!"
"Captain Hark is dead, Captain Hark is dead, run for it!"
The death of the Nadaruun Evil Beast Spirit became the final straw that broke the camel’s back. The slavers collapsed completely, dropping like dumplings, plopping into Dragon Lake one after another.
They were acutely aware of how despised their trade was; putting themselves in others’ shoes, they subconsciously assumed that if they fell into the enemies’ hands, they would face a fate as miserable as that of the slaves they had captured.
Thus, they preferred to take their chances in Dragon Lake rather than face capture.
"Shall we continue?" Gaven’s gaze shifted to the Half-Blue Dragon warrior.
"No need, sir. Your strength far exceeds my own; I am willing to concede and am sincerely convinced," said the Half-Blue Dragon, a straightforward type, as he knelt on one knee and declared, "I swear on the Morimi Clan’s name that I, Sarod Morimi, am willing to follow the sir before me and offer my loyalty and bravery."
