Chapter 799: Chapter 533 Spell Advanced Studies_1
Gaven chuckled, "Stories stem from reality but are greater than reality. If it were exactly the same, what would be the point of all this fuss? I just need your story as a medium, and then artistically process it by integrating what we need. By leveraging the power of belief, we’ll make it a reality."
Philancy was an extremely clever person who understood instantly and didn’t hesitate to respond, "Since you originally came for my spellbook, you must know something about its origins. Indeed, it comes from the Nesserel Empire and contains a considerable amount of arcane knowledge."
"Back then, a legendary Red Robe Mage also set his sights on my spellbook, leading to a battle between us. I blasted him to smithereens and trapped his soul in a Soul Orb. He, however, had set a teleportation trap on himself. Because of my carelessness, I was teleported to the Land of Mist. Had it not been for my close connection to the Magic House and the spellbook, I would have been completely lost."
She certainly wasn’t a good storyteller. A thrilling battle between legendary spellcasters was made to sound mundane, like a common event.
Gaven was no better in this regard, also lacking talent in that area, and could only win by making wild, creative gambits. "We can keep the main body of the story, but after you enter the Land of Mist, you won’t find a decrepit Mage Tower but rather a unique Goblin Castle, as tall as one inhabited by Giants, with fertile farms and gardens, home to seven magical Goblins each possessing their own wondrous abilities."
"Some are scholarly, others are farmers, some possess immense strength, and there are even those who can fly."
"They were the ones who helped you, treating you like a Princess and serving you in a Mage Tower that soars up into the clouds, one with powerful wish-granting capabilities."
"And only you could use it to fulfill the Goblins’ extravagant and quirky wishes."
"Well, that’s it for now. I’ll have competent professionals refine these ideas later for deeper artistic processing."
He had blatantly plagiarized the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, simply substituting Dwarfs with Goblins.
The reason, of course, was to resonate with the Goblins and make them firmly believe in and aspire to become the magical Goblins from the story, generating a strong power of belief.
As for polishing the story, there was no better choice than Regina. She was certainly capable of making the tale more fantastical, twisted, attractive, and realistic, ensuring the naive little Goblins would be utterly convinced.
"I’ll leave this to you," Philancy said casually as she took out a spellbook and pushed it towards Gaven, "Since you address me as a teacher, I should fulfill my duties as one. Here is some knowledge and magic about Psychic Sorcerers, Arcane Adepts, and Arcanists that I’ve compiled. Take some time to study it when you can."
"Given the combat abilities you displayed earlier, it’s not appropriate to completely dismiss the powers granted to you by the Milestone of Destiny. Many abilities are indeed unique, and they are why you can overcome those far more powerful than you."
"But when you truly face those spellcasters, you’ll find that your triple strike might not even have the chance to come into play."
"Your previous notion that only a Wish Spell could reverse the effects of a Dimensional Anchor is simply naively laughable."
"What do you think Dispelling Magic is? Do you think higher-level Dispel Magic is just for show? The same goes for that Six-armed Snake Demon you faced—how foolish to know they weren’t skilled in magic yet not arm themselves with any Magic Items capable of Dispelling Magic."
"If they had had such an item, you wouldn’t have gotten away so easily, and the outcome would have been unpredictable."
"Remember, all magical effects can be dispelled; the key is whether or not you have the correct countermeasure."
"That includes all of your Special Abilities—make sure to keep your distance from Mages who can cast Dispel Magic Spells when activating them."
"Otherwise, all your effort will be in vain."
"Magic combat is all about countering and being countered. It’s about whether you have selected the right Spells and whether you are prepared with the necessary ones."
"In this regard, Arcane Adepts have a natural advantage, as your two systems of spellcasting can complement each other."
"But the number of Spells you currently know is just squandering the huge potential of your profession."
"Unfortunately, most of what I have here is based on Spells, and there are only a few Psychic Abilities; you’ll have to collect the rest on your own."
Philancy had to lecture Gaven again. She almost laughed out loud when he previously mentioned Dimensional Anchors with such pride. It exposed just how superficial his understanding of spellcasting theory was.
His knowledge remained anecdotal, and he hadn’t delved deeply into his profession’s specialized knowledge.
The way the Magic Network accelerated Professional Level advancement was certainly doing more harm than good.
As for Gaven, he was a novice under her tutelage, and she didn’t have much time to teach him herself.
Had he been someone she had trained from the beginning and made such a basic mistake, she would have broken at least ten Teaching Whips on him.
"Teacher’s guidance is heeded; I’ll definitely intensify my study of magic theory to cover my greatest weakness," Gaven respectfully accepted the spellbook Philancy handed to him.
