Chapter 782: Chapter 529 Comprehensive Cooperation_1
"I’m sorry, City Lord, you’re a bit late. Those Troll Corpses have likely all been dealt with by now, transformed into various raw materials." Gaven no longer had an interest in selling raw materials, "However, I have a compromise proposal. We could collaborate on developing products related to Trolls. We would provide the core materials, and you would supply the auxiliary materials and technology. We would then split the final products fifty-fifty. What do you think?"
The materials produced from the Trolls were a bit different from Regeneration Gems.
There was a large quantity of them, and the value of the products was relatively low, so they would definitely need to be sold in volume. The workforce required for production would certainly be substantial.
The same was true for the auxiliary materials. They usually weren’t worth much but were needed in large quantities, collecting them was time-consuming and labor-intensive.
If one could sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor while outsourcing half of the work, it was definitely a very cost-effective deal.
Of course, the price wasn’t something Gaven just casually suggested; it was calculated by the professionals under his command. He didn’t have many Mages skilled in Alchemy, so finding a partner for cooperation was inevitable.
He hadn’t expected Raymond to come to him first.
After a brief internal calculation and realizing the potential profits, Raymond nodded without hesitation and said, "Deal."
"City Lord, you’re really decisive. I like doing business with people like you." Gaven said happily, "City Lord, do you have any other collaborative projects? Please tell me all about them."
"The other collaborative project has to do with this city. I hope to sign a long-term contract with Lord Gaven for the purchase of iron ore." Raymond got straight to the point, "We have a Dwarf Ironworks in the Snowflake Mountain Range, capable of mass-producing iron using Dwarven technology. The steel produced is all top-quality Dwarf Fine Steel Ingots."
Dwarf Fine Steel Ingots.
Upon hearing this name, Gaven was one hundred percent certain that the Dwarf Ironworks they controlled wasn’t just any coal-fired iron smelting operation. It was either magma-heated like the silver production line in Nanklept, or even better—an automated production line powered by bound Fire Elements.
"Personally, I prefer the same cooperation method as with the Troll Corpses. I supply the raw materials, you provide the technology, and we split the final product seventy-thirty, with the transportation of the iron ore left to me," Gaven tossed out a new lure, "If City Lord agrees to this, the iron ore transported to your Dwarf Ironworks will not just be from the Dwarf Statue City. I will also coordinate the delivery of more iron ore from other sources for processing at your facility."
By "other sources," Gaven naturally meant the iron mines of Dragon Oak Territory’s Blackwell.
He was no longer inclined to sell the ore, but setting up his own ironworks wasn’t realistic in the short term.
Traditional iron smelting not only consumed a lot, it caused severe environmental pollution, which was particularly displeasing in front of natural races.
As he had a close relationship with natural races and relied on them for many things, not advancing an ironworks in Dragon Oak Territory was the main reason Gaven had held back.
If he could reach an agreement with Raymond, even a fifty-fifty split would be far more profitable than establishing his own ironworks—after all, smelting iron was a costly endeavor.
As for the Blackwell iron mines, of course, they could not rely solely on land transportation. Instead, they would be transferred from Mesnoel through Shadow Drag.
Although the other party was making a profit, that was unavoidable.
Who would let them hold onto such absolute technology?
It was also a win-win situation.
"Deal," Raymond nodded decisively once again.
Just as Gaven had guessed, his Dwarf Ironworks was indeed an automated Dwarven production line, powered by bound Fire Elements.
These Fire Elements needed some material from the Material Plane for power, but most of their heat was drawn from the energy of the Fire Elemental Plane.
The Dwarf City where the Dwarf Ironworks were located was abandoned not because of war, but because the Dwarves had exhausted the iron mines there and had no choice but to leave.
Unfortunately, there weren’t any other significant iron-producing mines nearby Ruitawen to supply them.
Raymond was sitting on a golden goose that produced eggs but had no feed to give it, so when he heard that Gaven wanted the Gnolls to mine iron in Dwarf Statue City, he couldn’t wait to jump at the opportunity.
Although they would make less profit compared to directly consuming iron ore, it was still better than having none at all.
The other party wasn’t someone ordinary; if Gaven was aggravated, he could hire Dwarves to build his own Dwarf Ironworks. Then, Raymond would only be left to rue the missed opportunity. It was better to have a mutually beneficial agreement, which was evident from the asking price proposed.
"Decisive! It’s comfortable to negotiate with the City Lord." Gaven felt this was the most smooth-sailing deal he had ever made, "Our ore carts shouldn’t return empty on their trips back. I hope the City Lord would assist in purchasing grain and supplies."
The industry and population composition of Dwarf Statue City and Blood Gorge City meant they would not become great agricultural towns. Most of their food needed to be imported, with Ruitawen undoubtedly being one of the foremost sources. They would also further expand other channels later, and as long as trade routes were established, everything else would be easy.
"That’s easy enough. At that time, I will have the City Administration Commerce Association specially follow through with this task, purchasing the cheapest grains from the surrounding areas for you." Compared to the vast interest in iron ore, this was a small profit, and Raymond naturally wouldn’t scheme on such matters.
"There is one more thing I need to consult with the City Lord. I wonder if you are proficient with the Mist Barrier? Or do you know any Spellcasters who can cast this Spell?" Gaven asked opportunistically.
