Chapter 781: Chapter 528: Reunion with Raymond_3

The Enlightened Trees were ready too, all those accompanying the migrating army were summoned here by Gaven.

The spaces they vacated were taken over by huge domesticated beasts gathered by the Blood Claw Legion.

It wasn’t only the Enlightened Trees, even the Treants would be relieved from this labor-intensive task, saving their strength for jobs the beasts couldn’t do.

The availability of a large number of mid- to low-level spells was a given, and although the amount of dragon blood and Dragonization here was temporarily less than that of Dragon Oak Territory, with Shanoba’s Special Ability assisting, it was believed they would soon catch up.

Especially since her enthusiasm for rallying the Gnolls had been fully ignited. Once the situation in Dwarf Statue City stabilized a bit, she would march towards Giant Run Mountain Range and Snowflake Mountain Range.

Within a month, the iron mines of Dwarf Statue City could resume operation, and immediately enter a high-output state.

Unfortunately, the creators of Dwarf Statue City seemed to have focused all their energy on Regeneration Gems, so the mining here was purely extraction, without an iron refining production line like in Nanklept.

However, with Darama from Zalanda to the south, there was no worry about "watering someone else’s field". The iron ore would move south along the migratory route, combined with the ultra-heavy carts made by Mesnoel and the huge domesticated beasts from Giant Plains, the efficiency of transportation would be exceptional.

Just this one aspect would completely revitalize the economics of this line.

Right after sending off the new partners from Gnome Village, Gaven then welcomed a new visitor—the Ruitawen City Lord, Quasi-Legendary Mage Raymond.

"Congratulations, Lord Baron, with one battle you’ve gained fame. Not only are you now renowned around the Giant Plains, but across the entire Giant Dragon Coast, Amu, and Thacel, they’re all singing your praises.

Your series of actions here will bring not a decade of peace to the surrounding areas but quite likely a century, or even eternal peace," Raymond didn’t skimp on his words of praise upon their reunion.

Life’s circumstances are indeed unpredictable.

Even Raymond himself hadn’t expected to meet with Gaven again so soon.

Raymond remembered his last mentality clearly, a mix of curiosity with a tint of superiority.

After all, the supply and demand weren’t exactly equal then.

Besides providing Ruitawen with a new north-south trade route, the other party couldn’t bring any other benefits, at least no short-term benefits were visible.

And the new trade route wasn’t something he asked the other side to build.

Their actions had a direct need, whether or not he showed goodwill, they would still construct this path for migration.

Yet, the other side, with a makeshift army, overthrew the Troll Kingdom that had haunted these lands for hundreds of years with a flick of their hand.

But that didn’t count for much.

Because this place was so remote, surrounded by monsters, many forces were unwilling to pay a hefty price to deal with it, otherwise the Troll Kingdom would have been eliminated long ago.

The key issue though, was that the other side quickly established cities right here, not just one, but two, strategically supporting each other.

The speed was so fast that even he, a Quasi-Legendary Mage, was amazed.

As such, everything changed, and they immediately had control over a vast amount of rare resources that even Ruitawen coveted.

"City Lord, you flatter me. I merely did what I ought to. The success of this operation owes much to your assistance. Without your generosity, our battle with the Troll Kingdom might not have been so certain," Gaven said with genuine gratitude.

The 1.8 million worth of resources they previously secured from Ruitawen played a crucial role in the battle.

"Lord Baron, you are too modest. Even without the materials purchased from Ruitawen, your victory in this battle was secured; it was merely a matter of casualty numbers," Raymond, who had watched the entire battle, said.

He knew very well that the key to their victory was not with the common folk, but with the elite troops led by Gaven—had they failed to destroy the Demon Portal, defeat would have been certain.

"A significant loss, and we would’ve lost the battle. After all, our main goal was the migration, to ensure the safety of these common people; everything else is of secondary importance," Gaven corrected seriously.

"Lord Baron is truly a compassionate man. Those commoners’ choice to follow you was undoubtedly the best decision of their lives," Raymond added gold to Gaven’s face, "I won’t beat around the bush, Lord Baron. I have several cooperation projects I’d like to discuss with you."

Gaven sat up straight, ready to listen attentively, "Please, City Lord, go on."

"The first project is about those Troll Corpses. I am willing to pay a premium to buy them all, one thousand Gold Coins for a common Troll, ten thousand for a Noble Giant Troll," Raymond stated his price directly.

It was indeed a premium; the market price for a common Troll corpse ranged between eight hundred and one thousand.

Noble Giant Trolls, unique to the Giant Plains, were harder to price, but ten thousand Coins were definitely not low.

Individually, the prices might not seem too astonishing.

But accumulate them, and it becomes rather impressive.

There was no precise count of how many Trolls the Troll Kingdom had dispatched, but the number slain by Gaven’s forces was accurately tallied.

Fifty-eight Noble Giant Trolls and six hundred twenty-eight common Trolls, estimated to be nearly half, or close to two-thirds, of the Troll Kingdom’s total force.

According to Raymond’s offer, just this item would amount to nearly 1.5 million gleaming Gold Coins.

If war is a profiteering trade, then a war to annihilate a nation is profiteering at its most extreme.

From the Troll Kingdom alone, Gaven could see profits nearing ten million, and this wasn’t the end, just a beginning.
