Chapter 652: Chapter 485: Special Ability Fusion_3
Gaven and Nicole encountered numerous difficulties in communicating about the Psychic Sorcerer’s Special Abilities, especially the exclusive abilities of their respective professions.
Nicole had not yet fully mastered the techniques of Bionic Art, while Gaven had not completely grasped the summoning constructs of Stellar Construction.
This was not unrelated to the fact that they were both half-baked in their knowledge—their mind-related knowledge came directly from the inheritance imparted by the Magic Network. Just because they could use it didn’t mean they fully understood the principles behind it, let alone teach it to others—those who tried to copy without understanding were long dead. With spells, the margin for error is very low; a slight misstep could lead to backlash, so one must be extremely cautious, especially with higher levels.
But let’s get back to Gaven’s Intelligence. With the stacking of the three intrinsic attributes, it had reached 30 points.
Like the Transcendent benchmark of 20 points, 30 points is also a threshold, known as Legendary, which allows one to resonate with the Magic Network and unlock Legendary rewards.
Strength and Constitution are the easiest attributes to reach Legendary because larger creatures often have bonuses in this area. Once you become of gigantic or super-gigantic size, you would have no choice but to possess Legendary Strength and Constitution because, without them, how would you support such a massive frame?
Reaching Legendary with Dexterity isn’t difficult either, as its requirements are inversely related to size—the smaller the creature, the easier it is to achieve.
But Perception, Intelligence, and Charisma are different: there are no shortcuts or tricks. Apart from some races naturally having higher attributes than others, it’s necessary to accumulate these attributes point by point, through Enhancement.
Enhancing the three intrinsic attributes to Transcendent is doable with some effort. Many people can stack one attribute to this level before becoming Legendary.
To achieve Legendary intrinsic attributes, however, it’s not simply a matter of hard work—it also requires extraordinary luck.
Gaven was now someone whose luck had exploded, having Enhanced three kinds of intrinsic attributes. It would be good enough for many people to have one of these; two would already mean an astonishing fortune, and gathering all three within oneself? There might be only a handful of such individuals across the continent.
Without a second thought, Gaven immediately layered the three abilities onto himself, including the Singing Stone that came with its own background music, all under Gaven’s control. A classic, ethereal tune began to play.
Don’t forget, he is a Psychic Sorcerer. He had become quite adept at Autohypnosis from the very beginning. The Singing Stone was just an inanimate object that often matched the background music to Gaven’s mood. All he needed to do was hypnotize his emotions to that level, and the Singing Stone would naturally respond—tried and true every time.
Legendary Reward (Choose one):
1. Permanent Intelligence +4
2. Arcanist Casting Level +2
3. Acquire the Special Ability ’Second Overclocking’ (You can perform a deeper, second extreme Overclocking while in an Overclocking state. Your formidable Intelligence will further integrate with your body, enhancing all attributes by an additional 2 points. This bonus is a special intrinsic value that does not conflict with Attribute Enhancement, lasting half a minute per day per Intelligence Modifier).
Shit! Shit! Shit!
After reading the Legendary Rewards, three emphatic expletives bounced around in Gaven’s mind, seemingly the only words capable of expressing his feelings at that moment.
He knew the Legendary Rewards were monstrously powerful, but he hadn’t imagined they would be this insanely potent.
All three options were supremely practical, not a single one was superfluous.
Even the conventional Intelligence award was significant, as this time it was not merely two points, but a four-point intrinsic increase—that was something nobody could easily ignore.
Even Gaven was no exception. His Legendary Intelligence wasn’t truly reached but was instead piled up by Special Abilities, not something that he could constantly maintain. Without stacking Intelligence to 30 points, he couldn’t activate them, just like his Spirit Flesh Integration. However, once he chose Intelligence, it would be directly Enhanced onto his body, becoming part of the 30 points.
This was a well-known shortcut that allowed one to enjoy the benefits of a two-point intrinsic attribute increase in advance. The cost was giving up a unique Special Ability or other enhancements, a decision rarely made by those short-sighted unless absolutely necessary.
At least with Transcendent rewards, few would do so, but with Legendary rewards, most would choose this path. This was not only because the increase was substantial but also because elevating one’s attributes to such a degree was tremendously difficult. Many would not achieve it in their lifetime, making the shortcut more appealing to at least enjoy the various perks of higher attributes.
However, compared to the following two options, this one was obviously lacking.
No need to mention the addition of +2 to the Arcanist Casting Level. His Arcane Soul Tower had already provided a +1, and with this, it would directly offset the impact of multi-classing as Mage and Psychic Sorcerer.
Second Overclocking was even more self-evident. It was the advanced version of Overclocking, a unique, exclusive skill to Gaven.
In this period, he had already experienced the formidable aspects of Overclocking. He was only one step away from his original goal of attaining Transcendent in all six attributes.
If he were to choose Second Overclocking, he could immediately attain this goal.
Even his weakest attribute, Strength, would only be lacking by one point under Second Overclocking, and at that time, he would have two surplus points of Intelligence, which he could compensate for by switching the BGM.
In that situation, Gaven’s bare attributes would be—Strength 21, Constitution 23, Dexterity 22, Intelligence 30, Perception 22, Charisma 24.
Such attributes would be monstrous even among the creatures of monstrous races.
But Gaven saw another monstrous use for it.
Enhancing a single attribute was not the limit of Bionic Art. As long as his Psychic Sorcerer Level was high enough, and after investing enough Psychic Power Points in the same Special Ability, he could continue to enhance its power.
This kind of enhancement did not allow for an increase in more of the same kind of attribute but rather for the simultaneous imitation of two or more animal forms, acquiring multiple attribute intrinsic bonuses.
Setting other aspects aside, at the very least, he could certainly unlock the Legendary reward for Charisma.
Having both double and triple Legendary attributes would no longer be merely describable as monstrous.
Given this, the choice was self-evident.
