Farm Tough Girl
Chapter 494 - 494 495 Lesson _1

Chapter 494: Chapter 495 Lesson _1 Chapter 494: Chapter 495 Lesson _1 Madam Li really was on the verge of collapse, unable to comprehend how the situation had escalated to this point. Originally, it was all about probing into the affair of Dabao’s Mother giving birth to an illegitimate child, but then, after the Imperial Physician intervened, he turned the tables in just a few moves. Not only did he restore Dabao’s Mother’s reputation, but he also managed to splash this foul water onto her.

However, Madam Li’s words clearly lacked any convincing power; now, all the accusations pointed towards her. What could she do?

In the end, it was Doctor Xue who spoke up, “Since that’s the case, let’s do another blood kinship test. Let’s see if your blood mixes with Xu Shuzhuo’s!”

How could Madam Li be willing? Just now, the child’s blood had inexplicably mixed with Xu Shuzhuo’s. What if hers didn’t mix this time?

“Why should I do it? Shouzhuo is my own son. Who dares to dispute that? Why do I have to prove it? So whatever that doctor says is absolute? The mixing of the blood just now was strange. I think he’s in cahoots with that cheap wretch, Dabao’s Mother!”

Doctor Xue’s face remained unpleasant, yet he remained composed, “The events earlier took place right under everyone’s watch. Madam Li, if you don’t believe it, the villagers here are witnesses. What right do you have to speak out of turn here?”

The villagers echoed in agreement, “Exactly, why make unfounded accusations? We’re not blind. Doctor Xue provided the proof right before our eyes. Could it be fake? Madam Li, don’t take us for fools. The blood mixed previously; it must have been your doing. Now, the only ones who could provide that drop of blood are you and the Midwife. If you want to clear your suspicions, let some blood out! We’ll watch again to see if your blood and Shouzhuo’s really mix!”

“Right, if you dare, then offer evidence. You keep insisting that Shouzhuo is your own flesh and blood, what are you afraid of? Now you don’t want to let blood because you’re scared, aren’t you?”

“Nonsense! I fear nothing! He’s indeed my own son. Why should I be afraid?”

“Then shed some blood and see if it really mixes!” No sooner had the words fallen than Doctor Xue already pricked Madam Li’s finger with a needle, drawing out the fresh red blood and dripping it into the bowl.

He then turned to draw blood from Xu Shuzhuo. Xu Shuzhuo’s complexion was not very good, but he too wanted to know the truth, so he simply went along with Doctor Xue and let the blood out.

Doctor Xue caught sight of Qiao Muniang, who was complacently waiting to watch the drama unfold. At that moment, she even winked at him. As Doctor Xue turned away, a flick of his sleeve sent a pinch of powder into the water.

Consequently, under the gaze of all those present, the two drops of blood resolutely separated.

Madam Li’s face turned ghostly white, “How, how, how is that possible? How could this be?”

A woman was the first to cry out in indignation, “Well, it turns out it really was Madam Li’s blood that didn’t mix, indicating no blood relation between Madam Li and Shouzhuo! Poor Dabao’s Mother, she almost took the blame for you. Speak! Whose son is Shouzhuo?”

Madam Li was utterly at a loss for words, “What do you mean whose son? Of course, he’s mine! There must be something wrong, there has to be!”

“Everyone saw it with their own eyes, what could be wrong? Could it be that the blood let earlier wasn’t yours?” The Village Head shouted angrily, utterly infuriated. He was tremendously disappointed in Madam Li; he knew all along that she was not a decent woman, but he never expected her to stoop to such shameless depths!

Madam Li was desperately pleading, turning to Xu Shuzhuo, “My son, you have to look at your mother. I truly am your birth mother. Don’t let these people bully me!”

Xu Shuzhuo shoved her hand away, “Mother! What in the world is going on with you?”

Madam Li fumed, “You ungrateful little bastard, after I raised you through all the shit and piss, and now you have the nerve to question me? Goddamn son of a bitch, I should’ve strangled you at birth!”

Xu Shuzhuo angrily said, “It would be one thing if it was just me, but why must you harm the child and his mother? I just want to live a peaceful and orderly life. Dabao’s Mother has already suffered enough, yet you keep stirring up trouble. Despite her grievances, Dabao’s Mother endures it every day. I’ve been following filial piety and haven’t disrespected you at all. But you’ve gone too far, now trying to harm my child. How can I tolerate this?!”

Madam Li had never been scolded like this by her son before; she felt almost suffocated with frustration, and plonked down on the ground, starting to wail, “Oh my, this goddamn son of a bitch is renouncing his mother! Woe is me, an unfortunate soul, bullied by my son and daughter-in-law in my old age. I can’t live like this!”

In the past, such an act would’ve guaranteed Xu Shuzhuo’s submission, but this time, things were obviously very different. Setting aside whether they were mother and son, just on the basis of her framing Dabao’s Mother and the child, Xu Shuzhuo, being a man, could not stand for it!

Seeing the situation was settled, Muniang couldn’t be bothered to stay any longer. Madam Li’s tantrums and the same old tricks of using filial piety to blackmail her son were nothing new. After all, the “truth” was out; Dabao’s Mother and the child would certainly be fine. Muniang didn’t linger any longer, turning around and sneaking away.

But just as she stepped out of the crowd, she bumped into a wall, almost crooking her nose.

“Ouch!” Muniang, rubbing her nose, looked up to see who else but Yu Ze, with a scowl on his face.

“Husband, what brings you here?” Muniang feigned innocence.

Yu Ze, with a stern face, said, “Had I not come? I would’ve had no idea there was such a commotion here. Pregnant and running around, arguing with such a shrew, aren’t you afraid of harming yourself by getting agitated? You’re going to be a mother, and yet you don’t care at all about yourself. Do you think your health is worthless?!”

Yu Ze’s lecture seemed endless, but Muniang knew he was concerned about her being mistreated, especially when she was pregnant.

Rubbing her nose, Muniang hastily said, “Oh my, my nose. I hurt it when I bumped into you just now; I even feel a bit dizzy. Husband, come check for me, did I injure something?”

Yu Ze, knowing full well her antics, said sternly, “Stop it, just listen to my reprimand!”

Muniang, persistent, replied, “I’m really feeling dizzy. Look at me, I’m so weak. That woman’s arguing made my head hurt already, oh dear.”

Yu Ze felt a mix of frustration and amusement in his heart, clearly aware she was faking but unable to resist her endearing little act. He pinched her cheek and embraced her waist, worried she might fall over from dizziness, “Let’s go home!”

He evidently didn’t plan to continue with the reprimand.

Muniang smiled slyly, like a little fox that had sneaked away with a treat.

Doctor Xue, who watched this scene from afar, was nearly stunned. Just how spoiled had this wife become?
