Chapter 851: Proposal (DaRa Couple)

"Daniel..." Rachel was overwhelmed with emotions and she didn’t know what to say. Her eyes welled up as she covered her lips with her palms, too stunned to speak a word.

"Rachel, you know, I always envisioned myself having a beautiful wife - kind, lovely, and understanding. In short, the best woman in the world. I’m incredibly fortunate to have found the one."

Daniel took a breath while Rachel waited.

"I am not someone who knows how to speak flowery words. But trust me when I say you pushed and pushed and fucking pushed your way into my heart until you started ruling it and I didn’t even know it. I want to spend my eternity with you, travel with you, explore the world, and see all that there is to see with you."

Daniel smiled and Rachel lowered her hands and mimicked his expression.

"I want to celebrate all your birthdays and our anniversaries together and spend all my birthdays with you. I love you, Rachel. I love you so much. I may not be the perfect man. But I promise I will be a better husband. Would you honor me and marry me?"

Rachel sniffled and smiled between her cries. Nodding her head, she held out her hand. "Yes, Daniel. Yes."

Daniel grinned, his joy evident in his eyes. They were glittering brighter than the stars. He slid the ring through her fair finger and Rachel kneeled before him, pulling him for a kiss.

Daniel was surprised by the intensity of the kiss and it took him a moment to react. When he did, he pulled her closed until their chests were touching each other.

Weaving his fingers through her hair, he held her head, positioning her to deepen the kiss. Rachel opened her mouth for him and Daniel was quick to pull her tongue in.

When they separated, a thin strand of saliva slipped between their lips.

Daniel wiped her lips gently and pecked them before he stood up, helping her to stand up as well.

"So, did you like the proposal?" Daniel questioned, once she returned to normal.

"What?"

"Did you like what I prepared for you?"

"Prepared?" Rachel raised her eyes and looked around. A gasp left her lips when she saw the decorations around her.

The island seemed to have come to life. In the middle was a two-story wooden house that screamed of luxury. Trees surrounded the house, giving it a very mystic feeling.

But what caught her eyes was how the entire island had been lit up by candles. Since the sun had vanished and the dusk had set in, the lights made the island look absolutely beautiful.

"Wow." Rachel was mesmerized and Daniel smiled on seeing her so entranced.

"Did you like it?’

Rachel nodded, words failing her at such a critical moment. "It’s...it’s...it’s lovely. Thank you so much."

Rachel once felt her eyes tear up and she hugged him, hiding her face in his chest.

"I never knew my sweetheart was a crybaby. Are you so touched that you can’t stop trying?" Daniel teased and Rachel slapped his shoulder.

Daniel chuckled as he led her inside the house.

"Shall we go inside?"

Rachel nodded and raised her head before turning towards the house.

Inside, the house reminded her of a resort, only that it was more like a private resort.

"Whose house is this?" she questioned as she looked around. The place was top-notch, exactly to her liking.

"Ours," Daniel replied and Rachel’s head turned to him instantly.

"Are you serious?" Her eyes widened as she stared at him as if he had grown three heads.

"Yep. Not just the house, but the entire island belongs to us. It’s a private island," Daniel clarified, loving her expression of shock.

"How? I mean, what? How did this happen?"

"Actually, my grandfather gifted this island to my grandma. And she gifted it to me. The island was barren all these years. I got the house constructed recently."

"Oh my God! How long have you planned for this day?"

"A long time. To be precise, the day I was sure you would be the one for life."

"And when was that?" Rachel folded her hands, intrigued to find out when Daniel started planning for the future, their future.

"Secret." Daniel winked at her, much to her annoyance. "Now, shall we have dinner?"

"Yeah, sure." Rachel had not been hungry till then. But as soon as Daniel mentioned dinner, her stomach rumbled. "Did you cook?"

"You know I can’t cook, Rach. The house helper did."

Rachel pouted and walked towards the kitchen. But Daniel stopped her before she could enter the place.

"Not there, Rach." He pulled her to the stairs and Rachel gave him a questioning look. "We are having dinner on the terrace," he clarified.

"Okay." Though uncertain, Rachel didn’t question him on it and followed him as he led her to the terrace.

Barely had she reached the terrace when the entire house went dark. The terrace lit up, the electric candles giving an ethereal feel. It was as if a blanket of stars had been laid on the ground for her.

Rachel’s lips parted for the nth time. The stars glittered in the sky while the candles illuminated the terrace and the island. Everything seemed like a dream and she didn’t want it to stop.

"Please, my lady."

Rachel walked toward the table arranged in the middle of the terrace and took the chair Daniel had held out for her.

"Thank you," she mumbled and smiled at him, once again touched by the amount of effort he had put into the proposal.

Daniel then uncovered their plates and Rachel wasn’t surprised to see the steak. To top it, there was also a bottle of red wine.

"Have I told you how much I love you?" Rachel questioned and Daniel smiled at her.

"Yes."

"Then, I’ll tell again. Daniel, I love you so much. Thank you for the best day of my life."

"Baby, every day of your life will be better than this. Don’t settle for something mediocre."

"No. This is the best day of my life. I’m so fortunate to have you in my life."

"Me too, baby. Me too, baby. Shall we have our dinner? Our food is getting cold."

"Yes." Rachel laughed helplessly.

"You need strength for what I have planned afterward," Daniel said mysteriously.

"Why? What have you planned?" Rachel was intrigued and she leaned forward, completely missing his wicked expression.

"I intend to put the blindfold to use," Daniel didn’t hide his plan from her this time.

"What?" Rachel didn’t understand him this time.

"Didn’t I tell you I’m going to have my way with you tonight?" Daniel’s expression turned dangerous while desire filled his eyes. "I plan to abide by my words, my dear. Prepare yourself for a sleepless night."
