Chapter 818: Location detection - Part 1
Noah stared at the images Ronnie had sent him and his eyes flashed with glee. They had found it. They had finally found it. They had finally found the places where Jared had hidden the explosives.
A deep sigh left his lips and his entire body relaxed visibly. Even though he had been relieved when they caught Jared, it was only now he felt utterly relaxed. They had nothing to worry about. The danger was over. The looming threat was close to being eradicated completely.
Joshua was watching his friend keenly and when he saw the look of relief on his face, his brows contorted into a frown.
"Noah, what’s happening? Why do you look so happy?" Joshua couldn’t fathom what had happened and why his friend was so ecstatic.
"We have found the places, Jo."
"What?" For a moment, Joshua didn’t comprehend what he was referring to and looked at him puzzled.
"The places where the explosives have been hidden. We have found them."
"Really?" Joshua jumped to his feet immediately, his eyes rounding in shock. They were speaking about it barely a few minutes ago and now, they had already located the places. How did this wonder happen?
"Yes." Noah then went on to explain what had happened almost a month ago and how Mia had approached him herself.
"Ahhh, Mr. Steveson?" Joshua nodded thoughtfully.
"What are you going to do now?"
"Well, I can’t handle this matter alone. We aren’t authorized to."
"So, Deputy Evans?"
"Deputy Evans." Noah nodded and made the call immediately. "Hello, Deputy?" His lips curled up immediately when the call connected. "I have some good news for you."
"Aren’t we going?" Joshua questioned when Noah made no move to leave his mansion. His calm stature surprised him, especially when he recalled the penchant his friend had to supervise matters of these kinds himself.
"No." Noah shook his head and sat back on the couch. "We have already involved ourselves in this matter more than we should. Deputy Evans wants us to stay away lest we invite trouble on ourselves."
"Ohh..." Joshua pouted in realization. "What a bummer! I thought we would have an exciting scene to watch later."
Noah rolled his eyes and refrained from commenting any further. Instead, he changed the topic when he recalled something. "Are you really going to stay here from now on?"
"What else?" Joshua looked at the barely remaining apple in his hand and went to the kitchen to discard it.
"Why?" Noah waited until he was back before he put forth his next question.
"What do you mean by why? My love is here. Where else would I be if not here?" Joshua looked at him as if he was staring at a fool while Noah was speechless.
"Is it necessary?"
"Would you be able to stay away from Aria?" Joshua folded his hands and quirked his brows questioningly. "Can you do it even if it is just for a day or two?"
Noah went silent at his words. He couldn’t do it. He could never do it. Heck, he had even allotted a female guard to take care of Ivy so that he could hug Aria to sleep every night. There was no way in hell he could stay away from Aria, not even for a day."
"Since you can’t do it yourself, why are you expecting me to do it? That too for a long time?"
"Fine, do whatever you want." Noah finally relented. Since they had left it for Ivy to decide about her love life, he wouldn’t be interfering in it. "Just don’t hurt her."
"You are the third person to tell me this today. What do you guys take me for? I was blind and stupid in the past alright. But I have learned my lesson now." Joshua stated and lay down on the couch with his legs dangling off the handrest.
"If you say so." Noah shrugged, not giving any clarification for being wary of him.
"Any idea what the Deputy is planning to do? Is she going to search the Stevenson’s house?" Joshua questioned as he scrolled through his phone casually.
"I’m not sure. Maybe no." Noah replied after weighing the pros and cons of each action. "Stevenson has absconded from the country and we don’t know what kind of explosives we are dealing with. If his house were to be raided and searched all of a sudden, there is a high he might take action before we reach the explosives."
"That could be dangerous. So, what now? Mia will scan and send the file to you and you’ll forward the same to Deputy. Is that the plan?"
"Yes, it is. Perhaps, I might be lending our men to the Deputy’s aid." Noah didn’t know what Valerie had in mind. He could only make plans accordingly and wait for her orders. The woman knew better than him what to do in this regard.
Noah’s phone chimed and he looked at the document Ronnie had forwarded. His brows shot up when he saw the list of places. "14? Fucking hell."
"Don’t tell me." Joshua stopped looking at his phone and turned to Noah instantly.
"Yeah, that bastard has hidden the explosives in 14 cities."
"Do we have the address of all the places?"
Noah frowned as he went through the document. "Nope, not the address. But we have the coordinates of each place."
"That’s as good as having an address. Why are you stressed out?" Joshua didn’t miss how Noah’s expression had changed into one filled with worry.
"I don’t know. I feel these coordinates are incorrect." Noah was unsure if they had the correct document or not. Nevertheless, he still forwarded it to Valerie to take a look.
"Why do you say so?"
"I’m forwarding the document to you too. Take a look."
Joshua went through the document as Noah had suggested and he too started frowning when he noticed the anomaly. "These coordinates make no sense. They don’t lead to the cities they are marked against."
"Exactly. I think something is missing here. But I don’t know what." Noah mumbled while Joshua thought about it.
"Can you call Mia for me?" Joshua finally stated. "I have an idea."
