Chapter 817: Found the file?

"Is Ivy asleep?" Noah questioned when Aria crawled on the bed and lay down beside him.

Aria nodded and rolled to his side, diving into his embrace. "Noah, I was thinking of moving into Ivy’s room until she recovers. What do you think?"

When Aria didn’t receive any reply from the man beside her, she raised her hand and looked at him.

"Ivy needs me, Noah. She can’t be alone. What if she needs to use the washroom in the middle of the night?" Aria put forth her concerns as she waited for Noah to agree. "Or what if something happens and she needs me?"

"I understand your worries, Aria. I really do." Noah ran a hand along her hair as he looked at the ceiling. "But what are you going to do when you are at work?"

Aria went silent. Noah was right. She could take care of Ivy when she was at home. But what would happen when she went to work? Who would tend to her then? Although her father and the others could take care of Ivy in her absence, they were but after all men and couldn’t help Ivy always.

"You don’t have to worry about it, Aria. I have already spoken to Ivy about it when you went to the kitchen to bring her some juice."

"You did?" Aria was surprised that Noah had already thought it through this quickly.

"Yes. I have assigned a female bodyguard to Ivy. She will be in charge of Ivy all the time."

"But..."

"You can take care of her when you are at home. But the guard will handle everything when you’re asleep or not home." Noah explained and looked down at his woman who was already staring at him.

"Did Ivy agree to it?"

"It was her suggestion, to be honest." Noah clarified and reiterated how Ivy had asked for a phone when Aria and Joshua were out of the room and typed her suggestion.

"Was it?" Aria couldn’t help but be stunned.

"Yes. She doesn’t want you to tire yourself out. You already have a lot to handle, juggling between your work and taking of Ivy. Take a break, will you?"

"Fine, I’ll do as you say." Aria yawned loudly until her eyes teared up.

"Take a nap, Aria. You didn’t sleep well yesterday."

"Yeah," Aria mumbled, her eyes fluttering slowly as she held her sleep. "Wake me up in an hour or so."

"Surely." Noah kissed her forehead and held her close until her breath evened out.

Noah waited until Aria was deep asleep before he let go of her. Releasing her from his embrace carefully, he got up and left his room.

Joshua was munching on an apple as he lay on the couch while Ian was nowhere in sight. Looking around, Noah noticed that even Oliver was missing.

"Where are Dad and Ian?"

"Resting," Joshua mumbled and took another bite of his apple.

"Why aren’t you resting then?"

"I am watching over Ivy. What if she needs me?"

"Yeah, right." Noah scoffed. "She’s going call you out of everyone else for help."

"There’s no harm in being hopeful. What if it really happens?" Joshua shrugged and Noah rolled his eyes. He was done with Joshua. The man could be a menace sometimes.

"What are you thinking?" Joshua noticed Noah was lost in thought. Something was troubling him, he could see it.

Noah had taken care of all the work in his and Ian’s absence for which Joshua was eternally grateful. He was so busy taking care of Ivy and his emotions that he had completely overlooked everything else, including his work.

"Is something troubling you?" Joshua got up and sat straight as he looked at Noah worriedly.

"Nothing serious. I’m just thinking about Jared."

"What about him? Isn’t he already in our grasp?"

"He is. But that doesn’t mean the danger is over yet."

"What do you mean?" Joshua looked at him with his eyes narrowed.

"Did you forget about the explosives?"

"Oh, yeah. Sorry." Joshua had completely forgotten about them. His mind had been occupied with other things and he had disregarded everything else, including the matters related to Jared. The man was caught but that didn’t mean the danger was over yet.

"Did you find something?"

"I’m hoping I did," Noah muttered, hoping for Mia to have succeeded in finding something.

It had been a month since they met and Mia had looked everywhere in her house. However, she hadn’t found anything that could be of use to them. Moreover, her father had flown to Venezuela and she had been locked in her house, forbidding her from leaving until he returned. So, she couldn’t search their office or any other place.

Fortunately for them, Mia had found her phone when her father was going berserk in worry. So, they could at least contact her whenever they wanted.

"I don’t understand, Noah. What are you mumbling?"

"Nothing. I’ll tell you once I find something." Noah sighed, hiding the truth about Mia. Joshua was already worried about matters related to Ivy. He didn’t intend to pull him along with him and trouble him all the more.

"Noah, you know you can tell me anything. Right?"

"Yeah."

"And that I have the right to know what’s happening?"

"Yeah."

"Then, tell me." Joshua probed, not letting Noah go just like that. He had already neglected his duties. He couldn’t allow Noah to shoulder all the responsibilities. His friend needed a break as well. Otherwise, he would crumble one day.

"It’s nothing, Jo. It’s just that I have got some leads related to the explosives and I’m hoping this is it." Noah replied vaguely.

"Oh... then what..."

Joshua stopped speaking when Noah’s phone rang, allowing him to answer the call.

"Yes, Ronnie?"

"Boss, Miss Stevenson has sent a message." Ronnie’s hands trembled as he stared at the message on his phone.

"Yes?"

"Boss, she has found a file in a hidden locker in her father’s study and it contains details of the places where the explosives could be. Miss Stevenson sent me a few pictures for confirmation. They seem to be what we are looking for."

"Ask her to scan and send the entire document to us." Noah stood up, his face showing obvious signs of excitement.

"Yes, Boss."

’We can finally put an end to this matter. Please let this be the one.’ Noah prayed, hoping for this to be the file they were looking for.
