Chapter 813: Misunderstanding

"What a bummer!" Aria mumbled and patted her hands as if she was dusting off something dirty. "Why did she have to faint now? I wasn’t done having fun."

Amber who was pretending to have fainted held herself from reacting. If she were to show she was only acting, she was damn sure Aria would butcher her into pieces.

’Madam, can’t you see Amber is pretending?’ Ronnie thought and examined Aria. She was frustrated. But the smile on her face said otherwise and he realized at once that she too knew the truth and was just entertaining the stupid woman.

"It’s fine. I can return another time when she is conscious and break all her remaining teeth. What do you say, Noah?"

Amber almost puked four bottles of blood at her words. The pain in her jaws intensified and she immediately felt one of her teeth shaking. ’What the heck! Did she really break my teeth?’

Not having any clue as to what Amber was thinking, Aria stared at Noah who seemed to be lost in thought. He didn’t react when she called him, not once but twice.

Frowning in worry, she approached him. "Noah, are you alright?"

This time, Noah broke out of his trance and he stared at Aria cautiously.

"I’m fine, Aria." He looked between Aria and Amber who was pretending to be dead before he stood up.

"Are you done or is there anything else?" Noah gulped and Aria’s frown deepened when she noticed the worry lines on his forehead.

’What happened to him all of a sudden?’ She wondered. ’Is he sick or did my fight put him off?’

"I still have something to do," Aria remarked and Noah’s eyes flashed with panic. But he did it from her as much as possible.

Hoping for her to spare him, Noah looked at Aria, making her all the more apprehensive. "Why are you looking at me that way? Noah, what’s wrong?"

Aria softened her tone and stepped closer to him only for the man to step back. Confused, she gave him a questioning look.

"What’s wrong with you?" Aria was surprised by his actions and she couldn’t comprehend the reason behind his strange behavior.

"What else is left for you to do?" Noah evaded her question and licked his lips nervously.

"May I know where the washroom is? I want to wash my hands." Aria raised her fist which was splattered with blood.

"Let me show you."

"Alright."

Aria kept glancing at Noah every few seconds. Something was bothering him. She could see it, she sensed it. But what? She didn’t know.

Neither of them spoke a word until Aria had washed her hands and removed all the traces of blood from her hands.

"Anything else?" Noah was still uneasy and he looked at her worriedly.

"Noah, is something bothering you?" Aria approached him, only for the man to take a step back instinctively. Seeing his actions, she stopped in her place immediately.

"No. Nothing at all. What could possibly bother me?" Noah denied her claims right away and even shook his head for emphasis.

"Noah, what’s wrong? Why are you behaving strangely all of a sudden?" Aria still couldn’t decipher what had happened and why Noah was behaving weirdly.

’Is he put off my by after seeing me fight? Is he having second thoughts about me now?’ She thought, her heart dropping in fear.

"Noah, do you want to break up with me?" She asked carefully, her heart thumping madly in fright

"What? No." Noah frowned and shook his head in denial. "Why would I break up with you?" The thought was even ridiculous to him. Why would he even break up with Aria? The thought hadn’t even crossed his mind and would never cross either.

In fact, he was thinking of proposing to her when Ivy recovered completely. ’Why would I want to break up with you?’ He thought, utterly puzzled by her question.

"Then, why are you behaving strangely all of a sudden?"

"I’m just preparing myself," Noah responded lightly.

"For?" Aria tilted her head and gave him a questioning look.

"For what is about to happen."

"What is about to happen?" Aria couldn’t make a head or tail of his words. The man was running in circles, confusing her all the more.

"Aren’t you going to spar with me?" Noah finally decided to raise the topic himself and end things as quickly as possible. The sooner the better.

"Why will I spar with you?" Aria looked at him as if she was looking at something ridiculous.

"Then, didn’t you want to spar with me?"

"Why would I want to spar with you? What’s running in your mind?" Aria still couldn’t fathom where this going and let out a helpless laugh.

"Then, what was the look you gave me earlier?"

"What look?"

"In the room before Amber first attacked you."

"Did my expression say I wanted to spar with you? Why did I not know?" Aria tried to remember if she had given him any hints which made him misunderstand. But she came short.

"Why were you smiling creepily at me as if you wanted to kill me?"

Aria burst out laughing when she heard him and even doubled over, startling Noah with her reaction.

’Am I mistaken? Did I misread her?’ Noah wondered when he saw Aria’s reaction. ’She doesn’t seem to be lying. I must probably be mistaken.’

"You are so cute. Why would I want to spar with you? Maybe I would but it would be to improve my skills. Why would I want to kill you?" Aria couldn’t stop chuckling and her eyes teared up slowly.

Realizing that he had misunderstood her, Noah sighed in relief before the embarrassment crept in. Pulling her flush, he leaned forward to bite her lips punishingly. Even though it was he who misunderstood her, Aria had to bear the brunt and ended up kissing him until her lips were red and swollen.

"Then, why were smiling like that at me?" Noah pressed his forehead against hers and panted lightly.

"I was thinking of planning a surprise for you." Aria too panted softly as she replied slowly. "You indulge in all my whims without any questions. You deserve a reward."

Noah’s eyes lit up at her words and he pulled back slightly. But he didn’t let go of her.

"Surprise, you say?" A wicked gleam passed through his eyes and Aria started to have an ominous feeling all of a sudden.

"I have something."

"No." Aria rejected him without even listening to it.

"Listen to me first. You don’t even know what I want to say."

"But I have an inkling that whatever it is would be disadvantageous to me. So no."

"Aria." Noah looked at her pleadingly, his eyes filled with hope and desire, and eventually, Aria gave up resisting.

’Damn those puppy eyes.’ She cursed herself silently for being hopeless. "Fine. What do you have in mind?"

"Why don’t we make my absurd assumption a reality?"

"What do you?"

"Why don’t we spar..."

"Noah!"

"Not here but in bed. I’ll make sure your skills will improve by leaps and bounds."

Aria pushed him away instantly. "You have gone insane. Let’s go."

With that, she walked away, leaving a chuckling Noah behind.
