FALLEN ANGEL: MARRIED TO THE DEMON KING -
Chapter 85: THE BONDS THAT BIND
Chapter 85: THE BONDS THAT BIND
Velmoria took in deep breaths, in an attempt to calm herself down, even if it was slightly. Her fingers dug into her palms tightly, as she found her eyes stuck on Lady Darvia. She took in the way the young noble smiled at the other two demons, the way she laughed at something Lady Seraphine had said. The way her eyes seemed to light up with every word that the older demons said.
Young Lady Darvia, for lack of a better way to say it, was like a ball of sugar, sweet from the way she smiled, to the way she talked, to the way she showed her excitement by waving her arms around as she told a story that seemed to interest the two other demons who were with her. Velmoria’s feet were planted to the spot, her heart pounding so hard against her ribs, so much that it felt that it may burst free.
She was young.
Velmoria knew that she was much older than the young demon was. Succubi tended to look much younger than their actual age, so she looked so terribly similar to the way she had in the two hundred years that she had been working for the demon king. However, although she looked young, did not mean that she was not so painfully old.
Lady Immera and Lady Seraphine looked at Young Lady Darvia the way one would look when they were indulging a child. Because she was a child! Despite that, Velmoria found that her focus was entirely consumed by the lingering heat of Darvia’s presence close to her, the intoxicating scent of her skin, and the maddening inexplicable hunger that was gnawing on her insides.
Velmoria had to give her thighs a painful pinch to try to calm herself down.
It was not enough pain to get her mind out of the gutters, but it was enough for her body to calm down just a little to allow her body to move.
’This is ridiculous,’ Velmoria thought to herself as she turned her body to slink away. Her movements felt as stiff as she imagined they looked.
The realization hit her like a ton of bricks, as she realized that the hunger she had been feeling since morning was not the same she had gotten used to over the years, in the time that she had been a full fledged succubus. This was not the usual craving for energy, or lustful indulgence that came with her being the race that she was.
The intensity of it was consuming.
Before she could escape into the shadows as she had intended, the garden doors creaked open again, drawing Velmoria’s attention like a magnet. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end before she even saw him.
*Him.*
Velmoria’s eyes widened, as the further realization dawned on her.
It was him.
He was the link that had caused her to realize that they were mates.
Velmoria’s head swiveled so fast it might have cracked. She quickly found Young Lady Darvia. The young demon’s demeanor seemed to have shifted, as her eyes turned to the garden door, where the angel stood.
Although just a few seconds ago the young demon had not seemed to have noticed the turmoil that had wound Velmoria up, now, her eyes were drawn to the two figures that stood at the garden doors.
Velmoria felt like convulsing as she realized that they were her mates.
The both of them.
Castiel, the angel, stood there, his body framed by the tall garden doors. His golden hair caught the light in a way that made him seem almost ethereal. The suns bathed his figure in a soft radiant glow that highlighted his slightly tan skin, the sharp planes of his face, and the gleam of the wings that were tucked neatly behind him.
It was as if he was the sun.
Velmoria’s breath hitched as he turned his gaze to her, his brows furrowing as if he had gotten a situation that left him confused.
Velmoria turned back to young lady Darvia and found that eyes were still stuck on them. Her pink eyes had dimmed ever so slightly, and her animated expression had dropped to a light frown. Her eyes narrowed as she took in Castiel’s figure, before finally turning to Velmoria and pressing her eyes further together.
From what she knew, Young Lady Darvia was not stupid. She had definitely figured out what was happening between them. The three of them.
However, he expression was not anything that Velmoria had expected. It was not a look of fear, nor was it the usual disdain noble demons reserved for the lesser demons. No.
Velmoria was a succubus, therefore she could immediately tell that the expression that flashed through Young Lady Darvia’s expression was hunger.
A hunger for the both of them. A need that was, perhaps, just as strong as the one that thrummed in Velmoria’s blood stream.
The ground felt like it was swaying under Velmoria’s feet. This was beyond anything she had prepared her heart and mind for. Forming a bond with an angel for the king was already impossible on its own. Yet here she was, forming a bond with both an angel and a demon. Just her luck.
The air felt thick, charged with an energy that crackled under Velmoria’s skin. Her fangs ached, poking at her gums and her instincts screamed at her to do something, *anything.*
But what could she do? Feed from them? Kiss them? Bend Young Lady Darvia on the table as the delectable angel took her from behind?
She could not tell where one impulse ended and where another began.
The queen’s smile became wide upon seeing Velmoria, "Cassie," she turned to her brother, "this is Velmoria, who I have been telling you about. She is absolutely splendid. Does work as if it is nothing."
Velmoria barely registered the queen’s words, as her mind seemed to be drowning in a haze of hunger so fierce it felt like she was going to drown in it. Every cell in her body screamed at her to run away, as far as she could, to resist all that she was feeling. Yet the same cells wanted everything that her two mates could give to her, even if it was crumbs that they would pity her with. She would accept it.
Her eyes flickered to young lady Darvia, who was still seated with Lady Seraphine and Lady Immera, her hands tightly clasped in her lap. She had managed to school her expression into something unreadable. But Velmoria had seen the flicker of hunger in her gaze. She had felt the heat of it.
Her feet remained planted to the ground, as much as she realized that this was insanity.
Because Darvia was a noble, and she could never lower herself to someone like Velmoria.
Because Castiel was an angel, and there was no way he would ever accept this bond.
Although she tried to lie to herself, their bodies told a different story. The air between them had thickened so painfully she wondered how in the world the others in the garden had yet to notice it.
Velmoria swallowed hard, as she forced herself into a bow, her body stiff and her nails digging into her palms once more in a futile attempt to ground herself. "Lord Castiel." Her voice was a mere whisper, nothing like how it usually was.
She could feel the angel’s eyes on her, the heat in his look betraying the impassiveness in his gaze. "You do not have to remain bowing, Velmoria." Arella patted her shoulder, helping the demon up from her bow. Velmoria gave a small smile to the queen, her failed attempt at looking normal.
"I have to show some respect to your sibling, your majesty." Velmoria tried to avoid looking at the queen’s brother. Her eyes betrayed her though, as they found his figure once more. This time, she could see the look in his eyes. The confusion. The need. The restraint.
His hands twitched at his sides, as if resisting the urge to reach for her.
"Velmoria." He said finally. His name, on her lips, sent a delicious shiver down her spine. It was as if he was testing her name, how it would sound when he said it. His voice was smooth, careful, closely taking her expressions in.
No.
He was drinking her entire figure in. Velmoria’s stomach twisted violently, and the need to kneel down at his feet felt like it was overtaking her entirely.
S/T:
Arella: (To Lady Seraphine and Lady Immera) Do you feel something odd crackling in the air, or is it just me.
Lady Immera: This tea is delicious.
Lady Seraphine: Something crackling? Is it thunder? Is it going to rain?
