Staring at the opponent across from him—Garlos—Ed made up his mind.

Ed reached up to wipe the blood from his face, coldly staring at Garlos.

"Next time, you won’t be so lucky." Garlos said softly.

The corner of Ed’s lips curled into a slight smile as he quietly replied, "No... there won’t be a next time."

"?" Garlos hadn’t yet understood the meaning behind Ed’s words when a sudden sharp pain shot through his body.

The unexpected agony caused Garlos’ pupils to contract as he looked down.

Unbeknownst to him, fine, faintly golden chains were now wrapped around various parts of his body.

"What is this?"

"The Chains of Divine Punishment."

Ed looked at Garlos’ stunned expression and softly said, "In our previous battle, I wasn’t just making futile attacks. When my attack pierced through you, I actually placed the ’Chains of Divine Punishment’ on you. When you materialized, they fused into your body. By the time you realize it, it’ll be too late."

"What?"

"My magic is different from Noel-nii," Ed said, several golden chains appearing in his hand.

"Though both are light magic, my magic, every technique is designed to destroy the enemy. It is, in essence, ’punishing’ magic. Capture, bind, kill—using any means to administer retribution. That is the essence of my magic."

"So, in other words, without realizing it, I’ve already fallen into your trap?" Sweat appeared on Garlos’ forehead as he spoke softly.
