Chapter 640 - 640 638 Uroboros on a Diplomatic Mission

Chapter 640: Chapter 638: Uroboros on a Diplomatic Mission Chapter 640: Chapter 638: Uroboros on a Diplomatic Mission A wisp of a faint fragrance wafted from his bosom as Russell entered the Warm Jade Volcanic Region.

“You’ve reached the age to pass on your bloodline,” the voice of the Shadowflame Dragon echoed in Russell’s mind, “That Joanna, Shadowflame thinks she’s quite good. According to human standards, thin waist, ample hips, she looks to be very fertile.”

“Shadowflame, since when did you start playing matchmaker?” Russell reached into his bosom and pulled out a pocket watch.

A faint scent of a young girl still lingered on the watch.

It was a gift from Joanna Amber, in gratitude for Russell’s rescue of her father’s kingdom. She had personally handed it to him when they parted.

The meaning behind it was self-evident.

Moreover, Duke Jonas and his wife’s attitude was blatantly undisguised—they were coveting Russell himself!

“Why reject a lady’s affection?” Shadowflame Dragon suddenly took Russell to the Shadowflame Elemental Volcano, “Shadowflame has witnessed the marriages and offspring of several Grand Dukes and has realized the importance of perpetuating the bloodline.”

“How so?”

“If Quentin III had not had only one foolish son, how could his country have fallen to such a state, necessitating your rescue?” Shadowflame Dragon sighed, “Russell, you should start a family and continue your lineage as soon as possible.”

“My goal is to live to two hundred, or even three hundred years old.”

“Having a long life doesn’t conflict with passing on your lineage,” the Shadowflame Dragon said, as he brought Russell back to the reality of Shadowflame Volcano through the Shadowflame Elemental Volcano, “You can even marry multiple ladies.”

“What?”

“You’ve made pacts with two great dragons; what’s wrong with marrying several ladies?” Shadowflame Dragon grinned, “Shadowflame only wishes for you to have as many descendants as possible. The more there are, the greater the chance of inheriting your exceptional talents, and the more secure the continuous succession of the state will be!”

Russell grinned as well.

He had barely been contracted with the Shadowflame Dragon for two days, and already it had started to consider his posthumous matters.

It seemed that the consecutive deaths of Quentin III and Grand Duke Kunstan had left it with an indelible stress trauma.

“Rest assured, once I meet the person I love, I won’t miss the opportunity,” Russell put away the pocket watch, “In this gradually unfolding grand era, we will need to fight together, Shadowflame. Strive to become stronger!”

“Govern the kingdom well. The stronger the state is, the stronger Shadowflame becomes!”

“Understood, goodbye!”

Leaving the throne, Russell quickly returned to Red Castle. A servant immediately came to report: “Your Majesty, Viscount Fred is waiting for your thunderous reply.”

“Hmm,” Russell went to the Thunder Sound Station.

Viscount Fred had learned from the Thunder Voice Conference that the Warm Jade Volcanic Region had been opened, and Russell and the Shadowflame Dragon had visited the Warm Jade Duchy.

He immediately thought of his own soon-to-be-destroyed Molten Fire Duchy: “Your Majesty, could you allow the Molten Fire Duchy to connect to the Amber Dreamland?”

“Fred, wait for me a moment, I will personally go to Changting and discuss this matter with you in detail,” Russell replied with a thunderous voice.

Then he called for the Nightmare Beast Senbula, who was still loitering around Red Castle.

And not stopping even at night, still pressing the Dream-Eater Boar Tapir to help with its cultivation, was the Ouroboros Snake Uroboros.

Mounting Senbula, he immediately activated the Quiet Dream teleportation skill and appeared in an instant at the embassy in Changting.

“Your Majesty!” Cousin Mel had not gone to bed, probably having received word from Viscount Fred, waiting here, “The thunder of these past few days has excited me beyond belief—you’ve actually become an Ancient Dragon Knight!”

“Cousin, you must have also received the Amber Starlight, haven’t you?” Russell asked.

“Yes, both Mercedes and I have received the Amber Starlight, but we simply can’t activate it. It’s probably because the Molten Fire Duchy hasn’t opened up a Volcanic Realm, so we can’t directly communicate with the Amber Dreamland.”

“You’re holding a Hope Pass, which can only be activated in the warm lands of an opened Volcanic Realm,” Russell said.

The Hope Pass relies on the hope of dragons for activation, so it’s also limited by the range of the dragons’ power radiation.

Outside of the radiation range, the Hope Pass cannot be activated.

“Then if I go to the Warm Jade Duchy, can I activate the pass?” Mel asked.

“Of course, the Hope Pass can be used in any Volcanic Realm,” Russell said.

At this time, Viscount Fred also rushed over, bowing respectfully, “Your Majesty!”

“Dispense with the formalities, please sit,” Russell extended his hand as if to help someone to sit, “the downfall of the Molten Fire Duchy is already a foregone conclusion. Even if you manage to start afresh in the Volcanic Realm, it will be meaningless. So, you should abandon all hope for that path.”

“Is that so,” sighed Viscount Fred.

“Relocate your people here as soon as possible and start anew in the Dreamshadow Flame Kingdom. Additionally, you’ve also contracted with Amber, haven’t you?”

“Yes.”

“Then come to the Dreamshadow Flame Kingdom as soon as you can and activate your Amber Pass,” Russell said. “The Amber Pass, unlike the Hope Pass, is not restricted to the volcanic domain. Once activated, you will still be able to enter and exit the Amber Dreamland, even from the Molten Fire Duchy.”

“Alright, I will join the immigrants and set out for the kingdom straight away,” Viscount Fred replied decisively. “It’s timely, as I have some things that need care… I would like to ask His Highness Shadowflame for a favor.”

Russell could roughly guess what it was: “Alright.”

Then he turned to Mel and said, “Immigration work here has unfolded smoothly; you should return with Fred.”

“As you wish,” Mel’s eyes sparkled, as he was already missing his beloved wife, Annie Helichrysum.

“Another thing,” Russell lightly tapped his forehead, and an sandy rock marking turned into a light, revealing the form of Uroboros, “I will have Uroboros accompany you back to ensure your safety along the way.”

“Is that really necessary?” Mel asked.

He was a Flying Dragon Knight, and Uroboros was merely a Pseudo-Dragon. Theoretically, a Pseudo-Dragon’s strength was on par with a Bipedal Flying Dragon.

With a slight smile, Russell said, “Times have changed, Mel. Uroboros’s strength is such that even in the face of a true dragon, it would need to keep its distance. In any case, with Uroboros escorting you, treat it as if you have a true dragon guarding you.”

Fred caught on immediately: “Your Majesty, are you referring to… the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon?”

“Correct, Uroboros is the envoy of the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon. If necessary, the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon will possess it and descend.”

“I would really like to see the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon descend,” Mel mused.

Fred’s face darkened instantaneously: “Better not, Lord Mel, I only wish for a smooth journey.”

Mel chuckled awkwardly: “Just a joke. Once back home, I can go directly to the Amber Dreamland and pay my respects to the esteemed Dreamscape Ancient Dragon!”

Suddenly recalling something, he asked, “Your Majesty, regarding the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon, should we continue to address it as ‘His Highness’?”

“Majesty,” Russell said. “This is the honorific that the Cabinet has agreed upon after deliberations for the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon.”

The Dreamshadow Flame Kingdom was the most unique of kingdoms, to the extent that some progressive ministers in the Cabinet wanted to go as far as proclaiming it an empire—given that the first Ancient Dragon of the Dragon Sleep Continent Warm Age had such a stature.

However, Russell had vetoed the imperial title.

At the current stage, his realm in the real world, which was the former territory of the Shadowflame Duchy, could not presume to be called an empire.

Perhaps, after the establishment of the various volcanic domains, it might be possible to establish a great empire within the Amber Dreamland.

For now, the Kingdom system would remain.

“All right, you should also rest early. I’m leaving,” Russell mounted Senbula and, using the Quiet Dream transport, left the embassy.

Mel said, “His Majesty has departed. Viscount Fred, we shall meet again tomorrow.”

“Please wait a moment, Lord Mel,” Viscount Fred suddenly drew an amber stone from his chest.

He handed it to Mel: “This is an heirloom of my Meltingfire Family. You have been of great help with the immigration, and I cannot thank you enough. As it happens, this item will be of use to you, providing an extra measure of safety on your future diplomatic missions.”

“How could I accept this? What would you use then?” Mel declined.

“I have more, and not just one. However, the surplus amber I need to present as tribute to His Majesty, so I can only give you one.”

After some reluctance, Mel accepted: “In the future on missions, I won’t need to cross the Snowfield; I can just teleport from the Volcanic Realm.”

“Better safe than sorry. Just take it,” Fred said with a smile. “I’ll go back and prepare. Tomorrow morning, we will set off together… Dreamshadow Flame Kingdom, that will be my new home!”

“Alright, when we’re in the kingdom, I’ll treat you to a real authentic Frost Snow Cigar!” Mel waved goodbye to Fred.

He then turned to Uroboros, who was coiled on the beam above, and bowed: “Goodnight to you as well, Lord Uroboros.”

Hiss.

Uroboros flicked its tongue in acknowledgement.
