Chapter 620: Chapter 615 Courage One

Above the city of relics, beneath the red disc.

A group of cultivators dressed in white and gold slowly appeared, all standing on a giant white dragon boat.

The leader, a rare beauty with four ears and a face like jade, took the lead.

"The people from the Four Seas Fairy Mountains also came to join the excitement?"

In another part of the void, a massive conical gyroscope slowly emerged, with a group of cultivators dressed in pitch-black robes standing on it, looking more like martial artists than Qi cultivators.

The four-eared man turned at the sound and smiled.

"It turns out to be friends from the Polar Region of the Illusory Sea, welcome, though from afar."

He clasped his hands together.

"However, this isn’t any sect’s territory; if you can come, so can we."

"Cooperate?"

A woman with white hair among the black-clothed newcomers coldly said.

"We can. We’d better move fast, or else when the other sects arrive, no one will end up benefiting," the four-eared man said indifferently.

He looked at her robe, which showed no rank position, clearly intentionally concealed.

Just being able to lead a team in this outer region of the void, she must be at least Fifth Rank. As for a Sixth Rank Earth Immortal ancestor, they wouldn’t normally mobilize for such a minor matter, so they probably wouldn’t be alerted.

"I wonder who leads the team from Green Lake Mountain?"

The four-eared man spoke softly.

"It’s Broken Blade Feng Huai," the woman from the Polar Region of the Illusory Sea coldly replied. "Enough talk, let’s hurry. We must find Song Danhao and get that item before they do."

"So be it."

Both groups immediately maneuvered their magic artifacts and shot downwards from mid-air.

Below was an extensive and massive white city, empty and quiet, with snow continually falling from the sky, painting every nook and cranny of the city white.

******************

Red light shone; a cluster of enchantingly red flowers slowly bloomed in the void, then extinguished.

Lin Xin slowly sheathed his sword, his expression icy as he swept a glance around him; a thousand-member level demon spirit tribe had not lasted three seconds before him and had been annihilated outright.

At the Fifth Rank Third Level, even without activating the Extreme Realm, it only took three seconds, one sword form to eliminate all demon spirits.

Watching the ten-plus points of attributes slowly increase, his expression unchanged, he continued to shoot forward rapidly.

A vast city covered in white snow was slowly approaching.

A gigantic red disc hung over the city, and numerous cotton-like flakes of snow seemed to appear from nowhere, fluttering down from the sky.

Lin Xin increased his speed, approaching the city.

The closer he got, the tighter he felt all over, and the flow of Innate Qi in his body became increasingly unstable.

Whoosh!

He lightly landed on the rooftop of a ten-story building.

His boots crunched into the thick layer of snow on the rooftop.

"This should be the place," he frowned slightly, casually drawing a gesture in mid-air. The spiritual energy had just been activated when it was crushed by the violent pressure of several other kinds of forces.

"In this situation, it’s not just spells; even a single basic rune can’t be used."

Lin Xin lifted his foot and walked to the edge of the rooftop, looking down.

The majority of the city’s snowy landscape instantly filled his eyes.

Buildings a bit shorter were tightly clustered nearby, with taller and shorter buildings alternately in the distance, some high-rises broken off at the waist, like snapped pen shafts.

The wind whipped up the snow, howling and flying chaotically everywhere.

Lin Xin took a deep breath; the air was unusually cold and seemed to carry an indescribable scent.

"This place... is a bit strange. It’s a pity I can’t use any spells, or I could have contacted Brother Feng immediately and joined up with the Green Lake Mountain team."

"For now, I’d better go find my foolish sister before any unforeseen dangers arise."

After carefully memorizing the city’s layout, Lin Xin lightly leaped, soaring down, silently disappearing into the snowstorm.

*******************

"Look, it’s a snowman!"

Gongshang Baiyu ran excitedly towards it, stopping before a small bungalow with her hands clasped behind her back, bending over to look at the snowman on the ground.

The others hurried to follow.

The snowman was made of two snowballs, wearing an icy hat on its head, with its eyes, nose, and mouth all curved, appearing very joyful.

Xu Ling disdainfully pursed her lips.

"You’re so grown up and still like snowmen? Such childish nonsense!"

"Don’t say that; having a childlike heart isn’t a bad thing," Lin Yaoyang ruffled Xu Ling’s hair, though her attention wasn’t on the snowman but was instead surveying the surroundings.

"This place looks good; it can serve as our temporary camp," Song Danhao approached, his hands faintly surrounded by wisps of black qi, obviously having used some method to check earlier.

"I feel like something’s off," Lin Yaoyang frowned.

"I’ve been feeling uneasy since we got here," Song Danhao shook his head wordlessly, sidestepping past Lin Yaoyang towards the small bungalow behind the snowman.

Lin Yaoyang also felt somewhat helpless. "It’s a pity we can’t use spells; that would make things much easier."

The group of four entered the small bungalow, which was fully furnished though a thin layer of ice coated everything.

"Let’s clean up and settle in here first, then get a fire going; I’m freezing!" Xu Ling plopped down onto a chair.

The others began pulling out living supplies from their bags and got busy.

Lin Yaoyang stood frowning at the window of the room, looking out through a paneless glass window.

The sky was already turning dark; night was approaching.

"Once it’s dark, we can’t go out. The nights here are very dangerous."

After Song Danhao made a fire, he walked over to her side and whispered.

"What exactly is in this city...?"

"Ah!!"

Suddenly, a piercing scream came from a distance within the city.

The scream interrupted the conversation between the two, apparently coming from a man.

The two exchanged glances, their expressions instantly becoming grave.

Were there others in this city besides them!?

"Shall we have a look?" Lin Yaoyang whispered.

"No...."

Song Danhao hadn’t finished speaking when he suddenly rolled backward.

Bang!

A gigantic fist violently smashed through the wall of the house, bringing with it powder from the shattered snow, aiming a punch at where he had just been standing.

Lin Yaoyang also reacted immediately, drawing the Longsword from her back and forcefully striking down.

But instantly, a huge shock rebounded, causing pain to flare up in her wrist.

"Damn! My hand is sprained!" Without the power of the Evil Qi Seal to support her, her own strength was not strong, just a bit stronger than a normal Foundation Establishment.

This was still a slow improvement since her younger brother had left.

With a thunderous crash, the wall completely collapsed, revealing a burly figure outside.

It was that snowman standing outside!

With a sweet smile, it raised its watermelon-sized fist, preparing to smash a second punch down on her.

"Half-circle!"

Lin Yaoyang’s eyes grew cold, her sword blade tracing a silver semi-circular arc of light.

With a swish, the snowman’s right arm along with its shoulder was completely severed.

The first time, she had been negligent, but the second time she had given it her all, naturally, the snowman was no match for her.

With a thud, the snowman stepped back, its hefty arm falling to the ground, which then quickly began absorbing nearby snow. In less than two seconds, a new identical snowman had formed.

Off to the side, a black line flashed.

Song Danhao grasped a black broadsword, fiercely chopping down on the newly-formed snowman’s head.

But it was futile, as the snowman’s head was only chopped deep enough to fit a finger, before it could no longer penetrate further.

With a boom, on the other side, Xu Ling, who had charged forward, was slapped away by the newly formed snowman, her body tumbling into a wall and spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Lingling!" Gongshang Baiyu’s hand loosened, and immediately an arrow accurately nailed itself in the snowman’s face, but without the amplification of a Spell Method, the arrow had only mere ordinary power. It was ineffective.

"Again!"

Lin Yaoyang uttered a low shout, her sword blade tracing an intricate trajectory, hissing twice as two snowmen’s heads rolled off, hitting the ground.

But immediately after, the rolled-off heads quickly grew into two new large snowmen.

At the original injury sites, new heads rapidly sprouted as well.

This time, Lin Yaoyang’s expression also grew solemn.

**************

Lin Xin walked slowly down the street, its sides empty and quiet.

"The aura here is a bit odd." He furrowed his brows slightly, scanning his surroundings.

The pitch-black door and window openings of the buildings on both sides seemed to hide countless pairs of eyes, closely watching him from the darkness.

Ah!!

Suddenly, a scream from afar reached his ears, seemingly from a man.

Lin Xin’s attention was immediately drawn there.

Whoosh!

A fist the size of a human head viciously smashed towards him from behind, aiming for his back.

Swish!

The fist automatically split open, turning to powder and falling down.

The owner of the fist, a two-meter-tall snowman, also followed suit, bursting into smithereens and completely turning into powder.

Lin Xin slowly turned around, his hand still seemingly not having moved from the sword hilt.

"Snowman?"

He glanced at the remnants on the ground, feeling slightly bewildered.

Whoosh!!

Suddenly, from all directions, large snowmen emerged from the building openings.

They were simply two snowballs stacked together, with arms and legs growing out from the sides of the spheres, topped with round ice hats, looking rather benign and somewhat adorable.

But a trace of chilly, vicious air was spreading through the air.

With a thunderous noise, dozens of snowmen charged at Lin Xin simultaneously.

In an instant, the same loud explosion sounded, and all the snowmen’s bodies exploded at the same time, turning to powder.

Lin Xin’s hand on the sword hilt became slightly blurry for a moment before returning to normal.

"Indeed, I cannot utilize Spell Methods, not even Innate Pure Qi, but it has no effect on me. The Extreme Speed Sword Talisman evolved from the Thunder Sword Technique, driven by the Green Yuan Decision, may be slightly slower in speed, but far superior in control."

Lin Xin analyzed in his mind; just by relying on his physical condition, he was a Human Immortal-level power.

Even if he couldn’t use magical techniques, he was not an ordinary cultivator can compare with.

The dozens of snowmen were instantaneously destroyed, Lin Xin continuing nonchalantly in the direction of the sound, slightly adjusting his route.

"Killing these snowmen does yield some Attributes, slightly stronger than the minor demons from the Void."
