Chapter 619: Chapter 614 Changes Four
These top-notch builders could perfectly craft the architectural structures and Formation Rune Patterns he most desired. Now, it was too much of a pity to lose them.
Lin Xin speculated that after the collapse of the buildings, the distributed Soul Power had significantly strengthened each dwarf’s Soul Body, allowing them to withstand the substantial increase in his Attributes.
Time slowly passed.
He studied alone in his territory, avoiding trouble, but trouble unconsciously kept seeking him out.
********************
Six months later.....
One hundred and ten steel men were scattered across the territory, patrolling and sweeping for possible attacks from Void demons.
Lin Xin stood at the edge of his territory, holding a stone six-grid tray in his hand, each grid filled with different shades of brown soil.
He carefully scraped a bit of soil from the edge of the stone wall of his territory and then placed it into the sixth grid of the tray.
"Sample collection is about done, next is to conduct the identification experiments."
He was studying how to engrave Formation Patterns in his own territory. Various carrier materials affected the inscribable Formation Patterns differently, necessitating careful research.
Boom!!
Just then, in the distance within the Void, a burst of blood-red halo explosively expanded out of the darkness.
The blood-red halo, resembling a giant disk, slowly diffused, encircled by a ring of silver filigree, strikingly beautiful.
Lin Xin suddenly felt a fierce wind surge towards him.
Boom!!
A massive boulder, taller than a man, was blown backward by the fierce wind, with dirt and stones from the ground being whisked into the air.
A tremendous force violently struck him.
"What’s going on?!" He looked up in the direction of the explosion.
Various types of Elemental Energy howled crazily in the Void, completely chaotic. Even his Protective Aura was slightly deformed by the blowing wind.
"Oh no! This is a pure Storm of Energy, targeting all kinds of elemental energies!" Lin Xin’s expression changed,
he quickly formed a Decree with his hands, and after three consecutive times, he managed to shape his Protective Aura into a spike-like shape.
Huge amounts of the energy storm swept by him, twisting and bending his Protective Aura into various shapes.
After finishing all this, he then looked towards the distant explosion of the red disk with a grave expression.
"If I’m not mistaken, that should be the site of the ruins where Feng Huai mentioned, occupied by Song Danhao."
He looked back towards the direction of his fortress. By now, there were already hundreds of steel men there, capable of self-sufficiency; his presence was actually unnecessary.
The entire territory had armed soldiers guarding it, managing to operate somewhat normally.
"Should I go and take a look?"
A thought briefly flitted through his mind.
******************
The Void Ruins City.
Song Danhao and two others stared agape at the red disk suddenly exploding overhead.
"An energy storm....!! This is bad!"
Song Danhao, experienced and knowledgeable, instantly recognized what this phenomenon signified.
"What is an Energy Storm?!" Gongshang Baiyu swallowed nervously and asked.
A little girl nearby, Xu Ling, looked over with an inquiring gaze.
"It’s complicated to explain, but you only need to know that as long as that thing is overhead, all Spell Methods are useless. Including the Teleportation Formation!"
Song Danhao said grimly.
"Damn it! All the Spell Method materials I struggled to find are wasted!!" Xu Ling suddenly cursed out loud.
"It looks like someone fell over there. Let’s go have a look." Song Danhao suddenly noticed a tiny speck falling in the distance.
"Yeah, stay alert!" Gongshang Baiyu cautioned. "It might be someone from Green Lake Mountain!"
"I’ll be careful, you guys wait here for me," Song Danhao nodded solemnly and said.
Both of them found no objections and each hid inside a building.
Song Danhao formed a Decree with his hands, but to no effect, making his expression even darker.
He had no choice but to start running.
After running for a while and turning a few corners, he finally saw the place where the person had fallen.
On the snow-white city ground, inside a large deep pit, a young woman in a black and red short skirt was kneeling.
The woman had long hair that reached her waist, jet-black as ink. Her white shirt, stained with gray and black marks, only covered up to her knees, and her long, round legs were encased in thick black stockings, perfectly accentuating her curves.
But none of that was important; what was important was that Song Danhao recognized this woman.
His expression was strange, his eyes full of confusion, his mouth slightly open, but he couldn’t fathom why this person had suddenly appeared here.
"Lin Yaoyang, Family Head?" He tried calling out loudly in the common tongue.
The woman slightly turned her face, her eyes still retaining a faint trace of white light.
"Song Danhao?"
Lin Yaoyang exclaimed in astonishment.
She had just been entangled in combat with a strange Demon Spirit that suddenly appeared, and then when it self-destructed, she got caught in the explosion, her head spinning, and somehow activated the Ancient Formation under her feet.
And then she found herself here.
"What place is this?"
She stood up, gently leapt, and jumped out of the pit.
As her skirt fluttered, Song Danhao quickly turned away, trying not to look at the fleeting glimpse of Lin Yaoyang’s skirt lifted by the wind.
"What’s going on!?" Lin Yaoyang also realized something was amiss. Her face flushed, and she quickly grabbed her skirt; her skirt was supposed to have a Refinement that prevented it from flipping up, yet now...
Pop.
She landed beside Song Danhao, turned around.
"Song Danhao, how are you here? Weren’t you supposed to have returned to Shen Luo Mansion?"
"I..." Song Danhao shook his head and forced a smile, "It’s a long story. Gongshang Baiyu, another companion, and I are together. How about we go meet them together?"
"First, tell me where this place is? I was just in Qiushi Region, how could I have been teleported so far away?" Lin Yaoyang was no fledgling. Since becoming the Family Head, he had access to many secrets about the outside world, including some knowledge about the Void.
Right now, he looked up at the huge red disk overhead and the surrounding pitch-black sky.
He couldn’t believe he was still within Qiushi Region.
Surrounding him were buildings of white high-rise buildings, their floors packed with densely clustered black windowed doorways, issuing whistling drafts in the dark.
This was simply a dead city.
Lin Yaoyang felt some misgivings.
Fortunately, not long ago, she had suddenly awakened the bloodline of the Chanting Star Clan and gained the Purifying Force, otherwise dealing with the Demon Spirit alone would require her to unseal and borrow power.
Now, however...
She gestured with her hand, energy flowed through her body and surged outward fiercely.
"Eh? My power is sealed?" The Evil Power sealed within her, surprisingly, couldn’t be used.
Immediately, a strand of white light dispersed from her hands.
"Good, good, the Purifying Force still works."
"Let’s go, Lin family head, I will explain later. We must find a place to stay before it gets dark, or it will be dangerous!"
Song Danhao glanced at the sky, growing anxious.
"Sure."
Lin Yaoyang nodded.

Lin Xin stood at the edge of his territory, ultimately dismissing the idea of heading over to investigate.
He turned back toward the fortress.
Since the territory was temporarily operational, he too had to start his own arrangements. Regardless, he meant to harvest some Free Attribute Points from the nearby Void first.
The more Free Attribute Points one had, the better, and he certainly wouldn’t complain about having too many.
Just as he took a few steps back, an invisible fluctuation quietly transmitted through the Void and entered his ears.
"There’s been a little accident. Lin Sherie, it seems you’ve been doing quite well lately."
Xia’s voice came through.
Lin Xin’s heart chilled, and he halted his steps, hesitating before recognizing it.
"So, it’s Lord Xia. May I know your instructions? The agreement we had before should still be effective, correct?"
He had just joined the sect and many things were still unclear; he was not eager to start serving Xia so soon.
Moreover, he was already in the Outer Regions of the Void, and this guy could still find him...
A sense of inescapable exposure crept into his mind.
It seemed he must figure out a way to shield himself from the probing of these powerful figures...
"No... of course not." Xia said smilingly, "I just came to pass on some unfortunate news."
"What?"
Lin Xin’s heart sank slightly.
"Your sister had an accident," Xia slowly said.
Lin Xin clenched the sword hilt at his waist, his eyes growing cold.
"Lord Xia, please clarify."
Xia smiled and continued slowly.
"She inadvertently activated an Ancient Teleportation Formation, and from Qiushi, was instantly transported to some ruins in the Outer Regions of the Void.
Incidentally, that ruin is also where Song Danhao is located.
I received the news and immediately thought of you, hurrying to inform you."
He paused, his tone carrying an odd, somber quality.
"You know, it’s your dearest sister. I know she means a lot to you, not unlike those two beauties from before. So... I hurried to tell you."
The malice in his words was blatant, clear even to someone other than Lin Xin.
His grip on the sword hilt tightened.
"You must be joking, Lord. I just corresponded with my sister, she should still be in Qiushi Region managing our family. How could she be involved with any Ancient Teleportation Formation?"
"That ruin is not far from your territory, believe it or not. I’m mentioning this just because of our contract," Xia answered with a light chuckle.
"That little one seems to have awakened the Purifying Force of the Chanting Star Clan, huh."
Actually, before Xia showed up, Lin Xin had also felt something was off. As a fellow descendant of the Chanting Star Clan, he could indistinctly sense that distant resonance from the red disk.
After a moment of silence, Lin Xin slowly relaxed his grip on the sword.
"I will visit there soon."
"Well then, I wish you good luck," Xia’s sharp laughter slowly faded away.
Lin Xin’s expression grew even colder.
Without hesitation, he leapt up lightly, aiming towards the red disk, his body shooting forth like an arrow.
Why his sister would come to the Void, the guiding hands behind it, if he said it had nothing to do with Xia, he wouldn’t believe it himself.
Leaping through the dark Void, everything around seemed to pause, as if he himself hadn’t moved at all.
But Lin Xin knew that he was flying towards the red disk at a very high speed.
"I must become stronger quickly..." he clenched his fists. He was determined to hunt down the Demon Spirits as vigorously as possible, maximizing the harvest of Attribute Points.
He did not want to feel manipulated ever again.
