Chapter 375: A Date
Chapter 375: A Date
Viviana heard about the incident with Angelina only two days later. She was worried, at first but after hearing about the heroic rescue her brother enacted, she was glad.
For the first time, Leonardo managed to do something for Angelina. And that was the best thing anyone could have ever done for a woman. Viviana was happy Angelina was safe. At the same time, she hoped her family change their tactics and not attack any more women.
Her father told her that he was giving up all of his businesses that involved women. She hoped Leonardo would agree with that decision too and follow their father.
"Are you feeling okay?" Leander asked rubbing her back.
"I’m fine," Viviana kissed him. "Are you making crab cakes? Yummy! I’ll go get Ziya!" She did a little clap as she was excited.
Leander kissed her. "You are happy," he said.
"I am," she did a little dance.
Leander let out a sigh of relief. A day after the premier, her period arrived. She was down the entire day as if she lost something. She looked sad but he thought that she might be hurting. She said it was not hurting but she looked sad and thought she was lying to not let him worry. But it looked like she was not hurting.
She said the medications she takes are working and she doesn’t feel much pain anymore. He wondered if she expected to get pregnant and that was the reason for her disappointment.
He was disappointed too.
He was sure he didn’t want another child. But hearing the innocent laugh of Ziya and feeling her warm hug, he got greedy. He gained confidence that he could be a good father, thanks to Ziya. Now that they had a child resembling her, he wanted a child that looked like him.
He didn’t tell her though; he didn’t want to make her anxious. But maybe, with the grace of the heavens, they could have another child. It would be a bonus if they had another girl.
Maybe he was wishing for too much. He didn’t know. He is fine with what they have now. He wouldn’t give up what they have for anything. His wife is the most important person in his life. That’s not going to change for anything or anyone.
He smiled seeing Viviana walking with a skip to her step. She is like an open book. She cannot hide her feelings. That’s what he loved about her.
On her way to get Ziya, Viviana received a call. Seeing it was Angelina’s brother, Viviana was surprised. She answered the call.
Ralph complained that Leonardo was keeping Angelina as a hostage. She didn’t understand why he was complaining to her though. But she listened to him patiently. He complained about Leonardo listing out the cons of marrying him, then wondered why she didn’t support her brother and said nothing to refute him. There was silence for some time and then he said one sentence and ended the call.
"You are right. She loves him."
Viviana chuckled. She ran to Leander and told him about the weird phone call she received from Ralph Florio.
"What a crazy guy!" Leander said.
Viviana had a feeling that Leander pretended to listen to her. He’s been doing that a lot lately. She didn’t care. As long as he pretended, she was happy. If he listened, he would complicate everything by trying to do something about it. Sometimes, she just wants to vent to him.
"I love you, Leo," she kissed his cheek and rushed to get Ziya. Today they are going to eat Leander’s cooking.
That weekend, they went to her father’s house, mainly because Viviana was feeling gossipy. She wanted to know everything from Angelina. There was a great spread on the table and Viviana was surprised to learn that Angelina had cooked that day.
After the sumptuous meal, Viviana and Angelina slipped into her bedroom with a bottle of wine.
"He got me this..."
Angelina was jumping for joy as she showed the necklace set. It was not extraordinary. It was just an ordinary rose gold necklace with a matching set of earrings—one that would be suitable for formal wear.
"It’s beautiful. It’s simple... like your taste. Gosh! My brother really tried here," Viviana said taking a close look.
She’d seen the gaudy bracelets he would give out to his bimbos. This was nothing like that. It was tasteful. Rose gold is Angelina’s preferred precious metal and she likes simple designs. Leonardo truly put his thoughts into it while buying this for her.
"And it’s perfect!" Angelina clasped her hands over her chest and sighed. "He told me that he will not change anything about me and wouldn’t stop me from doing anything I want. He said that he only wants me to be his, forever."
Viviana giggled. It was so romantic. Maybe because she had only seen the flamboyant side of him, she was surprised he could have this mushy side to him.
But this is perfect as Angelina says.
"I wish you all the best, Angelina. I can’t wait for your wedding." Viviana couldn’t hide her excitement. "Wait... have you chosen your wedding dress designer yet?"
"Whoa! Hold your horses there, Minerva," Angelina stopped her. "You will be getting married first..."
"Oh, yeah..." Viviana pressed her lips. She keeps on forgetting that she is getting married again. Probably because she didn’t think of this wedding as that important. In her heart, she was already married and so this wedding meant nothing to her.
"Also, haven’t we already decided that I’m going to wear your brand for the wedding?" Angelina wriggled her brows.
"Of course!" Viviana got excited.
"And... We have- I have decided that we are going to date for a year before our wedding," Angelina said. "Receiving that gift... I want to get wooed. I want to go on dates and introduce him as my boyfriend. I want to do a lot before our wedding."
"That’s a good idea, actually," Viviana agreed. "Keep him on his toes a little longer... By the way, did he agree to it?" she asked.
She didn’t think her brother had patience.
"He was not happy. But he had to listen..." Angelina smiled cheekily.
"You are amazing!" Viviana said. She truly admired Angelina.
As they were talking, Leander knocked on the door. Viviana thought it must be something of an emergency if he disturbed her. She went to get Ziya bit he stopped her. He brought his helicopter around and Viviana was intrigued.
"We are going on a date, wifey," Leander kissed her cheek.
Viviana’s little heart started to pound.
