Chapter 354: His Lesser Known Side

Viviana knocked on Leonardo’s door. It was slightly ajar.

"I’m coming in," Viviana announced before stepping in.

Leonardo was not in the bedroom and she heard him in the bathroom. She took the liberty of looking around the room. She’s lived here for months but she never stepped inside his room. He usually stays in the outhouse because their father didn’t allow his "companies" inside the house.

There was a big TV hanging on the wall. Every room in the house had a TV. Her room has one too. Neat the TV was a collage of framed photographs. She got drawn to it.

In the center was a big photograph of Leonardo’s mother. She’s seen a lot of pictures of her all around the house and her face comes up in Google searches too as she was a popular actor before she got married. She was such a pretty woman. She looked graceful and elegant.

This one was a picture she hadn’t seen before and Viviana looked closely at the picture. It looked like it was not taken by a professional. She was not wearing much makeup. It looked like a picture taken on a casual day. She was blooming with happiness; she was laughing. With the sunlight behind her illuminating the stray hair flying in the wind, she looked like an angel.

Those beautiful hazel eyes and the brown hair... She resembles Angelina a little, doesn’t she?

Viviana didn’t see the resemblance when she talked to Angelina. Angelina was wearing natural makeup and now that she looked at Leonardo’s mother with no makeup, she could see the resemblance.

No wonder dad loves her, huh?

"What are you looking at?"

She turned to hear Leonardo’s voice behind her. "Gee! Wear a shirt!" she grumbled and proceeded to look at the picture. "She was so pretty," she said.

"Who? My mom?" he asked.

"Yeah," Viviana said.

And then something clicked. Who else is there?

Viviana looked closely at the other pictures and she noticed her—Angelina.

She was wearing cargo shorts and a shirt and was standing beside Leonardo. Her hair was short, almost like a pixie cut. They must have at least five years of age difference and Leonardo was taller. At first glance, both of them looked like boys.

Viviana curiously glanced over at the other pictures. Those were pictures of Leonardo as he grew up alone and some with their father. There was one with Ignazio too. There was one picture of him with his mother and father with a smashed cake. Baby Leonardo’s little hands were smudged with the frosting. It probably was his first birthday.

There were two other pictures that were obviously added recently. One was her holding Ziya and another one was the picture taken on Ziya’s first birthday. Leonardo was holding Ziya wearing her pretty dress. Viviana smiled remembering that day. Ziya smudged the cake on Leonardo’s face and he "swallowed" her hand making Ziya all confused.

Viviana realized that there were only four women (if she counted Ziya as a "woman") in the pictures. No one else. Not even Allison was in there although he had been dating her for a long time.

She was touched. And she realized that Angelina is family—at least in his heart.

"Dad took this picture," Leonardo tapped the big picture in the center. "It was the day they found out that she was pregnant with me."

"Wow!" Viviana looked closely at the picture. Knowing the backstory, that picture looked much more beautiful. "She looks so happy..."

She read some articles that blamed the misogynistic "business magnate" who kidnapped the actress who was at the top of her career and locked her in the proverbial tower.

But she looked like she loved the life she had with Vito Vitale, the man she loved. She was blooming in the picture because she was glad, she was carrying the child of the man she loved.

"Dad loved her so much," Leonardo said.

"It’s apparent," Viviana nodded.

She only then looked at him. "You’re still not wearing a shirt!" she pushed him into the closet.

"It’s hot!" he grumbled.

Viviana looked around his room. He had an extremely large bed. He was not a fat guy and yeah, he was tall, but that bed was too much. Just like Leander. Leander had a needlessly big bed too. Leander had a black and gold-themed room while Leonardo had a bright white-themed room. He too had gold accents.

Both of them are similar and yet opposites in a way.

In his outhouse, he had "trophies". He had an item he collected from every man he "won" against. She looked around the room. There were some items that looked like collectibles from various countries. A couple of them, she has seen him buy. She’s traveled to a lot of countries with him and he would buy something as a souvenir from each travel.

So, this room is a personal space for him...

It doesn’t look like the gaudy outhouse room or his yachts.

It gave an insight into his character. She thought maybe the guy everyone else knew was just a part of him that he showed to others. He had this other side to him that not many knew—this homely side.

She should have known. She wouldn’t have gotten along with him if he was just the savage guy who doesn’t take "no" for an answer. He is always pretty nice to her.

Now she got upset about his recent breakup. Poor guy! He might have said something different but in his heart, he always wanted a quiet life with his family.

Just like Leander had a different personality in his bedroom, Leonardo too had a different personality to him. No wonder he wanted to trust Allison.

Damn you, Allison! I am going to ruin you for hurting my brother!

"Have you looked around? You won’t find any p*rn here, you know?" Leonardo walked out of his room.

"Why would you when everything is on the phone these days?" Viviana shrugged. "You’re not Evander," she mumbled the last sentence.

"We got the news... The Barnes family made a public statement that they were disowning Allison. They are not going to help Allison with her case, Minerva," he said.

Viviana was surprised. "She’s their only daughter—their heir. They disowned her? Why?"

Shouldn’t they try their best to help her? Are they afraid of going against the Vitale family?

Leonardo smirked. "Why do you think?"

He passed her his phone. Viviana looked at the blurry picture.

She looked at Leonardo with her eyes wide. "It’s him... He was with Allison’s father..."

Oh, Leo!

Leonardo smiled and nodded. He was surprised when their dad was not making any moves against the Barnes family. He thought maybe he was staying quiet for the lifelong friendship they shared. But he waited to see what her husband would do.

He is impressive. Indeed, he is The Lion!
