Chapter 349: A Fascinating Incident

Chapter 349: A Fascinating Incident

Lionel rushed out from the other side hearing the shout of Viviana. Gabriella followed him.

"What happened? Where is she?" Lionel asked Allison while he rushed there.

Allison simply pointed down. "I... she..."

"What?" Lionel asked.

"No, I... " Allison hyperventilated. "She..."

*Click

The anchor chain had stopped moving as the anchor probably hit the ocean floor.

"She fell...God! She fell!" Allison said.

Lionel looked down. He couldn’t see anything in the water. The deep waters glittered in the sun like shimmering liquid glass. She was not seen anywhere. "Help!!!" he screamed. "Bellissima fell in the water!"

Danielle rushed out too hearing the commotion outside. When she realized what had happened, she instinctively turned and glared at Allison.

"I think she got trapped in the anchor..." Allison said avoiding Danielle’s glare. "She was... pulled down...I... I was so...shocked...I...Ardo! Ardo! I’m so scared. I saw her fall..."

Seeing Leonardo rushing to the deck, Allison went and hugged him with tears streaming down her face. Not knowing that Allison was trying to slow down everyone, Leonardo consoled her.

"It’s fine... We’ll get her. She’s a good swimmer. Don’t worry. Come on..." he patted her back and kissed her face to console her. Allison clung to him.

Gabriella rushed inside the navigation crew and asked them to bring the anchor up. Leonardo got to the railing and his heart almost stopped seeing the stillness around.

"Where is she?" he shouted. "Minerva!!!" he shouted for her.

"She might get trapped in the anchor," Lionel said what Allison told him.

"In the anchor?" Leonardo looked around.

"Your girlfriend tried to kill her," Danielle said. Leonardo in his stress didn’t listen to her. Lionel heard it though. Danielle didn’t want to get in the wrong side of Leonardo and went to the side.

"We were anchoring, Mr. Vitale." The captain said.

"Why are you standing here, then? Get to..."

As Lionel was speaking, the anchor started to rise. Leonardo removed his shoes and prepared to jump in the water.

Lionel was keeping his eye on the water. "No, wait..." he stopped Leonardo from jumping in. "Look..."

Leonardo leaned forward and squinted his eyes. A fog of darkness was rising from the deep. With a gasp, he took a step back getting Allison. Lionel held Gabriella’s hand.

"Hold tight!"

*Splash*

A loud splash was heard followed by the shaking of the boat. Covering his face with his forearm, Lionel stepped closer to the railing.

"Bel-Bellissima?!"

He was shocked to see what he was seeing. Leonardo too was stunned for a moment.

"Get her!" Leonardo gathered himself and shouted at the crew members. "Get the first aid kit."

Gabriella walked to the edge to see what had awed everyone. She was awe-struck too. Danielle almost fainted.

The men were cautious as they approached the monstrous fish on the surface of the water.

*Splash*

The majestic fish splashed its tail sprinkling water over their faces. But that was not astonishing. It was carrying Viviana between its eyes that were spread apart like they were at the ends of...

A hammerhead shark!

I am looking at a hammerhead shark.

Gabriella was lost for words seeing the majestic beast that was five meters long.

"Viviana!" Gabriella called her. She was unconscious. "Get her!"

The men carefully approached the shark. The shark offered Viviana to them as if it was waiting for them. Those men got Viviana to safety and placed her on the lower deck. The whale didn’t attack the men and it didn’t swim away either. It circled around the boat as if it was waiting to know what happened to Viviana.

Leonardo jumped to the lower deck and started CPR. "Wake up, sis..." he patted her cheek. "Come on..."

"Gaah!"

With a loud gasp, Viviana woke up. She coughed up some water that got into her lungs.

"Thank goodness!" Gabriella patted her chest in relief. Lionel rubbed her back and sighed in relief.

That was a terrible scare!

"She... She was not lying!!" Gabriella almost pinched Lionel’s forearm. The great hammerhead shark was still circling their boat.

"...Apparently not..." Lionel said. "It still... it might not be her "friend"... There are a lot of stories where marine animals help humans or ask for the help of humans..."

Lionel tried to find a rational explanation. Danielle just watched everything holding her head. She had a splitting headache after drinking too much.

"You still think she lied?" Gabriella asked. She was convinced by now.

"Well..." Lionel couldn’t say anything. He was mostly shocked. He imagines stories and even he thinks that maintaining a friendship with a shark is a bit too much.

But who knows? Maybe he is the one with little faith.

Viviana came to pretty much immediately. She was shocked she was alive. Her chest burned. This was not the first time she was feeling this way. The last time she almost drowned, she was saved by...

"Leo?" she looked around. She thought she was dead but she survived.

He must have saved me!

But she didn’t see him.

"Are you okay? Just hold on. We’ll see a doctor pretty soon," Leonardo held her cheeks.

"Ah...yes..." Viviana coughed as she spoke.

"What’s this?" Leonardo held the rope tangled on her leg. The other end of the rope was serrated. That shark must have cut the rope with its teeth. As ludicrous as it sounds to be rescued by a shark, that shark must be pretty smart to know how to save her.

Leonardo didn’t even want to focus on that.

"How did you fall?" he asked. It’s not the first time she’s on a boat. She has pretty steady feet and she’s a good swimmer. "Are you drunk?" he asked as he couldn’t find any possible explanation.

Viviana pressed her lips and rubbed her head. Her head hurt. Everything that happened before her fall rushed to her head. Her eyes ended up on Allison Barnes.

"What did she tell you?" Viviana asked.

"What?" Leonardo held her shoulders. "Why should I ask her? Because you were with her?" he furrowed his brows.

It’s not like his sister to talk like this. He had a feeling that Allison was not very welcoming of Viviana. He had to remind her time and time again that he will not give up on his sister for anyone; That she was family.

The rope that got tangled with the anchor does seem like a...an attempt to...

"Are you blaming me?" Allison’s eyes watered. "I know you hate me but you cannot blame me for trying to murder you!"

"Murder?" Leonardo looked at Allison. "Al, who talked about murder?"

"What else did she mean by..." Allison gulped and took a step back. "Ardo, I...She was drunk and she slipped and fell. I tried to catch her and..."

Allison ran behind Leonardo. Leonardo was walking to the bridge of the yacht. "Get me the footage!" he shouted.

Viviana was given some first aid and she felt a little better. She was a little disappointed Leander didn’t come save her but she was more than elated to be alive.

She has a daughter to look after. She cannot die now.

"Bethsy!!!" Viviana cried seeing the hammerhead shark in the water. "Ah, Bethsy! You’re here! Did you save me?"

With no hesitation, Viviana jumped into the water.

"Nellie! Gabby! This is Bethsy, my fish friend!" she shouted waving her hand.

"Will you get out of the water? It can’t be safe!" Danielle tried to get her out.

"No, Danielle! Join me. Bethsy’s fine... Here..." Viviana patted the shark and the shark nudged her softly. "See, Bethsy is safe. She’s good with humans..."

Danielle got curious and jumped down. She didn’t think she would get a chance to caress a wild hammerhead shark.

"You’re full of surprises, Viviana."

Danielle was enjoying everything. Soon Gabriella joined them too. Lionel stayed in the boat. They played with the hammerhead shark for some time.

A few minutes later, Viviana heard Leonardo shout. He must have figured out the truth.

"Nellie, tell him that I want her alive. I want to call the cops on her," Viviana shouted at Lionel.

Leonardo must be hurting and angry. She felt bad for him. She didn’t want him to kill the woman he loved out of anger. It would be hard for him to handle.

At the same time, she didn’t want to let that woman go.

If she hated her, Viviana wouldn’t have minded it. She wasn’t even that mad at Allison for trying to kill her. But Allison said she hated her daughter too. If little Ziya was here, that evil woman might have hurt her baby too.

That cannot be allowed. Any threat to her daughter’s well-being must be eliminated.

She can forgive Allison for trying to kill her. She will even beg Leonardo and her father to forgive her. But she cannot trust her with her baby.

She’s the heir to a fortune. It’s not fine of they handle it within the family. She must be made an example.

No one can touch my daughter!

Even if Leonardo feels bad, she will insist on sending Allison to prison. She must face a public humiliation.
