Chapter 339: The Party

Viviana checked on Ziya. Ziya was put to bed but she was waiting for her mommy to read her a story for her to sleep. Ziya played a lot in the morning and she didn’t take her usual nap in the afternoon. Viviana knew she would be very tired.

Before Viviana even read three pages of the storybook, Ziya went to sleep. Covering her up, Viviana kissed her forehead.

"Good night, baby. Sleep tight..." she whispered in her ear.

Ziya smiled. Viviana couldn’t help but kiss Ziya’s round cheek once more.

When she got out of the room, Leonardo was waiting for her. "Shall we?" she asked and he nodded.

She smiled. He always escorts her to the parties knowing she is not very comfortable attending parties. He even leaves his bimbos and comes to her aid if she needs help. He’s a good brother.

"You’re thinking..." she said. Leonardo didn’t say a single word for a long time. That was weird.

"I am thinking," Leonardo said looking at her. He bit his lips and then held her hand. "Do you want to be the queen of Vitale fortune, Minerva?" he asked.

Viviana furrowed her brows. "Where is this coming from?" she asked. "Were you eavesdropping?"

"You can be the queen if you want," Leonardo said.

Viviana smiled. "You are willing to share your fortune with me, Leonardo?" she asked. She didn’t know what else he means.

"Isn’t that a given? Father has wo children and we will share the inheritance." Leonardo stated as a matter of fact.

Viviana’s heart skipped a beat. He means what he says.

"I love you, Leonardo," she hugged him.

Leonardo is set to inherit billions. Even if he shared, he will still be left with billions. But to say that he will share, he must have a broad mind. Who would gladly share their wealth with a bastard child?

"What’s this?" Leonardo sounded like he didn’t like her hug, but he didn’t push her away.

"I already have a lot of money thanks to your help," Viviana said. "My business is going well thanks to dad’s help and your help. That is more than enough for me. I wouldn’t even think about taking what belongs to you."

"Taking? But its your~"

"And one more thing." Viviana looked up at Leonardo. She didn’t mind his confusion. "I am not going to be the queen of the Vitale family. That place belongs to the woman our father chooses to marry, if any, in the future...Otherwise, it belongs to the woman you choose to marry. I’ll forever be the princess of the Vitale family," she said.

"What an outdated way of thinking... You too are an heir of our father," Leonardo shook his head in disapproval. "And what’s with you? Our father is old. Where is he going to get a wife at this age?" he asked.

The thought of his father bringing home a wife sent a shiver through his bones. His father took good care of him after his mother’s death. He was always second in authority next to his father. He can share his authority with his sister but he was not willing to give it up to some woman his father marries.

"Dad is rich. He wouldn’t have a problem bringing home a wife younger than the both of us. He could marry a nineteen-year-old girl tomorrow and we should be treating her as our mother," she said.

Leonardo’s face twisted with disgust. "Wash your mouth with acid, fool! How can you even think that way? Fool..." he mumbled.

Viviana noticed that he was disturbed by what she said. "If you think there’s an age limit for marriage, why aren’t you marrying?"

"Oh, please don’t start," Leonardo walked with large gait.

"You can marry a twenty-year-old when you are forty. But everyone’s going to mock you behind your back." She ran behind him. "And if you wait to marry, you’ll be very old when your children are born. When you go to your son’s graduation, people are going to ask whether you are his grandpa. Your poor son would be ashamed to go anywhere with you fearing the mocking of his peers. Think about it..."

Viviana kept on talking. Leonardo covered her face with his hand and pushed her back. "Stop talking!"

Viviana followed him into the party hall. Their father joined them soon. There were a lot of attendees and enough serving staff to serve refreshments to the guests.

The Barnes girl she saw earlier in the boat was one of the guests. She was still glaring at her. Leonardo didn’t notice her glare and went to talk to her. Viviana could see that Leonardo was interested in that woman.

She didn’t want to interfere.

Picking up a glass of champagne, she walked across the big hall trying to find her father. By doing so, she can say there for enough time to be noticed by most of the guests. If most of the guests noticed her and greeted her, she can leave the party.

As she was passing through, one guy asked her for a dance. She tried to refuse politely but that guy insisted. Leonardo raised his glass from the distance. His smile was so obvious.

Did he arrange this? I’m going to kill him!

"Distracted?" The guy whispered in her ear. He leaned back and Viviana was awed by the aristocratic aura around him.

"No, Your Royal Highness Prince Albert," she said with a plastic smile.

She didn’t want to refuse a Prince. It’s just a dance. And it’s not like he was courting her. She’s already married and has a child. She is not suitable for royalty anymore. So, she was not very worried about that. She worried if he would dance fancily. She doesn’t know any fancy dances.

"Just Al, please..." Albert smiled. "Although my title rolls on your tongue like a beautiful pearl drop, I shall insist you to call me by my name. "

"Sure," Viviana smiled.

She’s found that these people liked to say needlessly long sentences when just a few words would be enough. Maybe that’s how they sound so polite.

Holding her hand, he led her to the dance floor. On her way, she found her father. A guy was talking to him and he looked distraught and on edge.

Thankfully, the prince danced usually and she managed to handle it. Just as the song was about to end, a big BOOM made everyone alert.

Viviana looked out of the window as that’s where the sound came from.

Within a few seconds, she was pushed away when the Prince’s bodyguards reached for him. She too was covered with her bodyguards.

What happened?

Viviana looked around.
