Chapter 338: Michael Survives

Chapter 338: Michael Survives

Viviana didn’t know what she can do but she decided to try. Leonardo can be annoying but he listens to her. She can figure out what was in his mind.

"One more thing, Principessa," Vito held her hand.

"What is it, Dad?" Viviana leaned forward. He looked serious.

"How are you sure that your husband lives?" he asked.

Viviana wetted her lips. She could see that her father is trying to ask her nicely. Her brother does not believe Leo is alive and maybe her dad believes the same too. Maybe they have no proof.

But she had faith. She knew her husband is alive.

"The tattoo..." She let out a deep breath and closed her eyes as she recalled the charred body, she saw on the mortuary slab.

The body was charred almost everywhere except for the chest. The tattoo was identical to the one on Leander’s chest. She knew because she knew every inch of her husband’s skin. And that’s why she could spot the single difference on the body they told was Leander’s.

The angel was not holding a flaming sword.

"The angel was Michael. My husband had the angel Jophiel over his chest..."

She opened her eyes.

"Michael survives the fire..."

She believed Leander left her that message. She didn’t know whose body that was. But it was not her husband’s. Fire wouldn’t have removed just the ink of the fire on the sword.

Vito said nothing and patted her shoulder. He looked behind her and Viviana sensed her brother’s cologne in the air. He must be here to discuss business. She avoids listening to their business dealings unless it involves her. She decided to leave.

"Dad, I’ll go check on Ziya once before the party," she smiled and excused herself.

"Fool," Leander scoffed as she turned.

"What’s that circle...?" Viviana squinted her eyes and pointed at his suit.

"What?" Leonardo bowed and checked on his suit. "What is it?" he looked at her as he didn’t find anything weird.

"It’s a button, silly!" She flicked his forehead. "Look... A button, spelled B-U-T-T-O-N—button."

She pressed her lips trying to contain her laugh seeing Leonardo’s face getting red out of anger. Vito standing behind her ended up chortling heartily.

"I’m going to kill you!" Leonardo tried to grab her throat and she flailed her arms trying to stop him.

"Leonardo! Let your sister go," Vito intercepted holding his laughter.

"But she started it, Dad!" Leonardo pointed at her. "Why aren’t you saying anything to her?"

Viviana stuck her tongue out provoking Leonardo further. He fisted his hand and raised it to punch her.

"Dad, Leonardo is hitting me!" Viviana turned to face Vito with a pout.

"Get out, fool!" Leonardo held her shoulders and pushed her out of the room. He was worried she might twist her ankle and was careful enough to not push her hard.

"Fool!" he closed the door behind her.

"Will you stop laughing, Dad!" Leonardo walked in rubbing his nose.

Vito held his stomach and laughed for some time.

"You are enjoying this way too much, Dad," Leonardo pouted.

"Fine..." Vito raised his hands. "I’ll stop... The kitten fights back now. It’s beautiful to watch. I shouldn’t be surprised. She was the Lioness for the Lion," Vito sat on the armchair and crossed his legs.

"Do you think he’s alive, Dad?" Leonardo asked sitting opposite to Vito.

"Did you hear? The Arment family ship is docked near our port?" Vito smirked.

"Ferdinand Arment is attending the party," Leonardo leaned forward.

The Arment family owns gold. A lot of gold. Many rich people invest in their gold. Their gold gives them a certain power among the elite circles.

Vito shook his head. "Their ship is carrying all the gold they own."

"What?" Leonardo almost stood up.

It made no sense. The Arment family kept their gold in highly safeguarded places all over the world. There were attempts of robbery of tehir gold but none of them were ever found because they all were melted in acid.

Why would they willingly place all their gold into one ship and why would they come here?

"That’s not a smart idea, is it? To put all their eggs in one basket and leave it in the middle of nowhere like a sitting duck..." Leonardo rubbed his forehead. "Unless..." Leonardo’s eyes brightened as he realized something.

"Arment is here to ask for our help to safeguard their gold? Who scared them that much for them to rush here with everything on tow?" Leonardo asked.

Vito interlocked his fingers together. "Who indeed..." he said looking through the window. "Palatini family has invested all their money in Arment gold," Vito added.

Leonardo nodded. "Wait..." His mouth opened widely. Viviana mentioned that all of Leander’s enemies are dying one by one. Palatini family is the biggest enemy of Leander Kastello. "Dad, do you think it is..."

Vito shrugged. "It could be. She is sure her husband is alive."

"Aren’t you the one killing his enemies?" Leonardo asked.

"No," Vito shook his head. "She does not need any better protection than getting marked as my daughter. I don’t have to bother to kill those pesky husks."

Leonardo let out a deep breath. So, it was not their father who killed them. Was she right? Was it really The Lion? Did he somehow manage to scare the Arment family to put all their eggs in one basket? How did he manage to do that? Even if he managed to do that, what is he planning to do to the ship?

He remembered the explosion of their oil rig Leander caused a year ago. They lost a load of money. Is he planning to sink the ship?

"Should we offer our protection to the Arment family?" Leonardo asked. He didn’t want to let Leander get what he wants.

Vito smiled. "Not willing to let go of your sister?"

Leonardo looked away and scratched the armrest with a pout. "I got used to her and I love little Ziya..." He told the truth.

Vito pressed his lips. "She wants to go back to Abenney, Leonardo."

"What, no!" Leonardo refuted immediately. "Why? What’s wrong with her here?"

"She said she was a queen there while she’s just the princess here..." Vito scratched his chin.

"Then we can make her a queen here," Leonardo said.

Vito smiled. His heart was content seeing his son loving his daughter as much as she loves him. It’s nice to see one’s kids getting along.

"I don’t think she will like that," Vito said.

He could guess what she will say.

’Leonardo’s wife will be the queen of this place, not me.’

"I can talk to her," Leonardo stood up.

If she wants to be a queen, she can be a queen. Who is stopping her?

"And, Dad... About the Arment ship...?" Leonardo asked.

Vito thought for some time. "Let’s wait and see what happens," he said.

Leonardo did not like his father’s decision but he didn’t want to argue with his dad. He too was curious about what will happen to the ship.

This party is going to be interesting!
