Chapter 340: Can She Find Him?

Chapter 340: Can She Find Him?

"Princess, please come this way," Viviana’s bodyguards asked her to get out of the crowd for her safety.

Viviana didn’t think that the explosion was anywhere near the house. But she did follow what her guards told her. On her way, she saw a fire in the sea. That place is where they usually dock the ships.

"Did a ship explode?" she asked.

"It looks that way," the guard said.

Viviana looked at her father. The man who was standing with her father earlier was on his knees. He dropped his phone to the floor and ended up sobbing.

"What’s going on here?" she tried to walk to her father.

Vito glared at her bodyguard. The bodyguard quickly covered her. "I should get you to your room, Princess Vitale."

Viviana searched for Leonardo and he was walking across the room to their father. "Go!" he worded to her. Viviana immediately turned and walked out of the hall. If they want her out, then she might be in danger. She needed to get to Ziya.

Just as she was about to leave the room, a waiter blocked her way. "For the princess," he offered her a plate with crab cakes on it. His voice was deep; almost familiar. Viviana got it out of instinct.

The scent of aftershave...

"Thank you," she looked up to have a look at the waiter. He was very tall. His scent was a little too familiar for her. Her heart skipped a beat without her knowing.

But before she could look up, her bodyguard stepped forward. The waiter took a step back.

"Enjoy, Lemon..."

She came to a halt in her entirety hearing that. It was his voice. It was Leo’s voice.

He’s here... Her Lion is here!

He is...

She couldn’t even breathe out of excitement. Her hands started shaking.

"Princess..." her bodyguard got the plate from her hand.

"Wha-No!" Viviana came out of her reverie and held on to the plate.

"It might be poisoned, Princess," the bodyguard said trying to get the plate.

Viviana didn’t mind that. Holding the plate, she followed the tall figure going through the confused crowd. His broad shoulders were familiar. His hair was a lighter shade of brown but it could be hair color. He was wearing a white shirt and black trousers like all the other waiters. But his walk... she knew that majestic walk. As he walked across the room, he almost rubbed shoulders with Leonardo.

They were the same height.

She recalled the time she was in the elevator with Leander and Leonardo. They were the same height.

It is him...

But why is he leaving?

She couldn’t even call out his name as her voice got stuck in her throat.

It is him. After a year of holding on to hope, he is finally here.

But why is he walking away, again? Why is it exactly like the nightmares she gets?

Stop! Please, show me your face...

The crab cake slipped and she put it in her mouth. It had a zesty flavor to it. She loved it. Wiping the corners of her eyes, she followed the waiter without minding anything else.

The prince who asked her for a dance earlier stopped her. "Are you okay? You look..."

"I’m fine," Viviana almost shoved him away as he obscured her view of the waiter. Her bodyguard who was behind her urged her to return but she pushed forward.

"Hey, stop," the prince tried to stop her.

"Sorry, later," she waved her hand not bothering to look behind. Why would she look back? Her life is ahead of her!

Oh, No! Where is he?

Viviana looked around. She cursed her short stature. She would have removed her heels to run faster but then she wouldn’t see anything. So, she stood on her tiptoes and looked around.

He wouldn’t have disappeared, would he? Was he even real? Am I hallucinating? No, the bodyguard saw him too. I ate what he gave me. He is real.

But he could be someone else. He probably told me it was flavored with lemon and I might have misunderstood and thought that he called me Lemon.

Am I going crazy?

The past year has been very tough on her. Not being able to see him has almost ruined her. Only the hope that he will return is what keeps her sane. But what if she had lost her mind?

Ah, there he is...

Viviana spotted him entering the staff-only door and sighed in relief. Like a duckling following the mother duck, she ran behind him.

"Princess Vitale, Don Vitale asks you to be escorted back," the bodyguard tried to stop her.

But she ran as fast as she could. She opened the staff-only door. She almost slammed on a waiter bringing out a fresh tray of snacks. "Sorry," she slipped in. The large kitchen and serving area had at least twenty staff all in the same uniform.

But Leo is tall!

She looked around but she couldn’t find him. The supervisor saw her anxiously walking around and asked her what she needed.

"Where is he? He came here... The tall waiter..." she asked. Her hands were still shaking and so was her voice.

"Waiter?" the supervisor was a little confused but then he composed himself. He shouldn’t care who catches the interest of the rich heiress. After all, he’s heard that those wealthy women get attracted to pool boys and gardeners. Guess, it is a waiter for this lady. Who is he to judge?

"Did you see his badge? What is his name?" he asked.

"Name... Leander...?" she squinted her eyes as she looked around. "Or it could be Leo," she said. She didn’t think he will be using his old name after pulling a big stunt to "die".

Did he leave already?

Her heart sank. But then she gathered hope. She was surviving on hope these days.

He was here as a staff and that means he would have left his contact details. But she should find out his name first.

"Can I see your staff name list?" she asked.

She was not sure if he would have used the same name.

Michael.

That name echoed in her mind. He did leave her a message. Michael survives. What if that was the clue? He was going to survive as Michael?

Without knowing her lips curved up.

He did want to be Michael so badly when he was a child. Maybe he decided on that name.

Back then she thought he was trying to steal Leona’s name. But she didn’t feel like he stole anything this time.

After all, she felt like he was the archangel Michael protecting her when she needed protection.

The name Michael would suit him perfectly...

"Ma’am, here..."

The supervisor offered her the tab with the staff details. Viviana went through the names.

Will I find him?
