When she came to, she was out of the mortuary and Leonardo was sitting beside her on the floor.

"You make me want to never fall in love again. I will never get caught being this stupid," he said.

Viviana let out a deep breath. She sensed a warmth on her hand and she saw Leonardo was holding her hand. Seeing the beautiful watch on his wrist, tears filled her eyes.

"Leander has the same watch..." she mumbled.

Leonardo sighed. He wanted to correct her. Leander is no more. She cannot talk about him in the present tense. She looked pale and pitiful. He wanted to get angry at her. It’s not like she lost everything. She still has her family. Why would she look like she wants to die?

"The cop said they’ve charged me?" Viviana asked.

"It’s handled. You don’t have to talk to them again," he said.

When he heard about the explosion from his father, he rushed here willing to do everything to help her. To his surprise, the Kastello family lawyer had handled everything. He didn’t have much to do.

But he wanted to take her with him. He will take her with him. This place is not right for her. What kind of life is she living if some dirty cop can lay his hands on her? If she’s with him, no one would dare to even look at her the wrong way.

"I’ve to arrange the funeral..."

"Thank you," Viviana said bowing her head. She was not crying anymore and Leonardo was relieved. Her tears make her more pitiful and make him angrier. It’s better if she could move on.

"Can we leave then?" she asked.

Leonardo was shocked. He wanted her to move on but her eyes were so clear as if she didn’t faint some time ago in grief.

"My baby... I want her back from Helena. The dogs and the cat... I need a place to stay for some time, preferably out of this country. Can you arrange~"

"What else?" Leonardo asked.

It’s good she’s thinking clearly. He can give everything she asks for gladly.

"I have to pack my clothes and Ziya’s...And... Lemon Heights... I cannot lose that house. We buried..." her voice cracked. "We buried our baby there. I cannot lose that place."

Leonardo held her hand. "You will lose nothing more, sis."

She knows that with the investigators involving her, the properties in her name would come to scrutiny. But since he’s going to involve himself no one can touch a single thing she owns.

Including that baby.

Viviana nodded and stood up. "Giovanni, I will go with my brother," she said. "Contact him if you need anything...Send me emails about Martha and others."

Giovanni nodded. But he was not surprised.

Leonardo walked with her. She took a wrong turn along the way and Leonardo held her hand to lead her. She noticed the cops in front of another room.

"It’s Peter Kastello," Leonardo said.

"Oh?" Viviana looked at the room. She didn’t think that she was taken to the same hospital Peter was in.

Leonardo followed her as she walked straight ahead. If she wanted to talk to that guy, she can.

Viviana walked inside the room. The guards by the door stopped her but she walked in. They didn’t stop her once they saw Leonardo. It’s a good thing he came for her. It would have been tough without him.

Peter was hooked to various tubes. His breathing was labored and he was sleeping.

Viviana, with no hesitation, sat beside him and took out his oxygen mask. Leonardo stood by the window and watched her. She looked nothing like the woman he saw crying for the death of a dog. She looked ruthless.

She must consider the life of Peter more worthless than the life of a dog.

Within a minute, Peter opened his eyes. He breathed heavily with his mouth open.

"Do you recognize me, Peter?" she hissed.

Peter’s eyes widened and he pressed the call button near his hand.

"No..." Viviana got the button from his hand and glared at him. "I asked you a question, Peter. Do you recognize me?"

"He-help... Help... Demon..."

Peter tried to shout. But he couldn’t shout much and his breathing got heavier.

"So, you recognize me," she smirked. "Have you heard the news yet?"

"Leander..." Peter’s voice didn’t come out and he could only breath out his name.

Viviana scoffed. "Why are you acting as if he’s going to come and save you?"

"I..." Peter gritted his teeth. His arms that had gotten thin tried to grab her. "I should have killed you..." he said using all his breath. He then ended up in a coughing fit. But that didn’t stop him. "Demon... demon eyes...I’m glad I burned your parents. Ha..." he tried to scoff but he ended up coughing more.

Viviana clenched her hands to balls. She knew it must have been Peter who caused the explosion that took the life of her parents. She didn’t believe Leander when he swore it was him.

"And now Leander got caught up in an explosion and got burned. You see him there..." Viviana pointed at Leonardo. "he killed your grandson."

Peter turned his head with great effort and Leonardo waved his hand with a playful smile. "Ciao!"

"He... what is he..." Peter turned his attention toward her.

"Leander is dead, Peter. The last of your bloodline is dead. I’m infertile. Evander is dead. Ziya is Palatini’s. That means the Kastello bloodline is wiped out. How does that feel, Peter? Do you regret killing my friends? Don’t you think karma got you for killing those poor orphans?" she asked.

"Leander... dead...? Dead...?" Peter started to hyperventilate.

Viviana placed the oxygen mask back on his face and walked out of the room. Leonardo followed her. She was walking with a larger gait but it was not hard for him to catch up with her.

He didn’t understand what she was doing. She was hurting by the loss of Leander but she talked to Peter as if she didn’t care and as if she had something to do with Leander’s death.

What is she doing?

He decided to ignore it. Maybe she just did it to make Peter suffer.

"I only wish for him to know what getting burned feels like," she mumbled. "That would be rather poetic if he died in a fire... He did love burning others..." she scoffed.

Leonardo hummed. He can arrange for that.
