Lionel couldn’t help but laugh seeing the petty Leander. Others might be petrified to see his poker face, but only Lionel understood the pettiness behind Leander’s anger.

It was surprising for Lionel to see Leander not concentrating on his family’s pride at this important moment. The odd thing was, everything went in favor of the Kastello family just with Leonardo’s kiss.

"Since when did those heirs get along well?" Lionel’s father asked him.

Lionel shrugged. "I’m not Leander’s keeper."

Lionel was happy to see his father’s lips twitching in anger. It’s not hard to provoke his father.

The consigliere sitting beside Don Waldorf answered him. "The rumors surrounding Evander were right. Don Peter must have colluded with Don Vitale to dispose of him. Won’t be the first~"

"Eh," Don Waldorf cleared his throat stopping his consigliere from shooting out of his mouth. His son cannot know all the secrets. "The timing... With the investigative commission... It worked out well for Don Peter. He’s one lucky son of a b*tch!"

Lionel didn’t want to listen to his father and observed Leander. He was side-eyeing Leonardo.

For some reason, he is thinking that Leona is Leonardo. Something must have happened for him to believe that.

But about the crown that won’t wither... Isn’t Leander the one who commissioned a tiara for Bellissima? Why is he so sure that he was the one who wrote the letter?

He knew that handwriting changes over age. If he could get a copy of Leander’s handwriting around that age, he can assure Leander.

Lionel believed he was right. Gabriella told him that Bellissima told her that she felt like Leona’s soul got interchanged with Leander’s when they were in the fire.

What if she was right? What if Leander Kastello was the one who died? What if Peter Kastello, the fox, planned to make Leona, the son of Lucious become Leander as he was displeased by Leona’s mother and the way Leona was raised?

What if Leona never died? What if Leander Kastello is Leona Viceroy?

Lionel wanted to think that Leander would have the same doubts in his heart too. But then Leander surprises him with his stupidity at times. He didn’t know what to think.

Speaking of Gabriella...

Lionel checked his phone to see if Gabriella contacted him. She didn’t. He sighed.

What can I do with her?

Viviana bowed her head and sat silently as usual. She fiddled with her fingers as she felt cramps. The painkillers must have waned off. She hasn’t even drunk water for more than two hours and her head hurt like someone was hammering her head.

She thought she might faint. She was scared to talk to Leander and so she willed herself to stay alert. She might have lost touch after getting pampered for the past few months, but her entire life was about pushing through even when she couldn’t and making sure no one knows that she was suffering. She can push through this time too.

Leander could see her looking very uncomfortable. She was holding her hands tightly and biting her lips. She was obviously in pain.

He clenched his jaws. She still hasn’t learned to talk to him about it. It annoyed him. He already told her that he will send her home if she doesn’t feel good. What more should he do? Why is she insisting on suffering alone?

He almost asked her. But then he realized that his jaws were hurting. He’s been angry for a long time. It might have been his default setting for others but she only has seen his gentler side these days. She won’t handle his usual self.

He softened.

Ah, she must have thought that I was angry at her. So what if I was angry at her? Will she endure her pain fearing me?

He asked one of their men to bring something for her to drink.

"Here," he gave her the bottled water. He got her purse and took out the pill he kept there. He handed it to her. He could see her eyes tearing up.

It doesn’t take a lot for her to cry, does it?

Idiot! I love her so much!

He held her hand and squeezed it. He cannot let his jealousy take over when he doesn’t know what she truly feels.

Viviana swallowed her tears. He doesn’t allow her to endure alone... Maybe she doesn’t have to endure alone in the future.

Her heart was calm as she swallowed the pain pill.

"Are you sick? He shouldn’t have brought you here if you’re sick!"

Viviana squinted her eyes hearing the dry voice. She turned to the side to see Leonardo leaning closer to her.

"Who else is he going to bring? I’m his wife. Should he have brought a bimbo like you?"

Viviana didn’t know what prompted her to say that. Maybe it was her pain that made her irritated. But looking at Leonardo, she spoke her mind. She was not afraid of him when she was with him in close quarters. She was scared of him when he was standing far away though.

Only after finishing speaking did she realize that she was talking to the heir of the Vitale family and the guy who shot her husband. She should be careful not to provoke him.

Leonardo didn’t seem provoked. On the other hand, his eyes lit up.

"Who? She?" Leonardo pointed his thumb at Nadia who was sitting beside him with her shoulders hunched and with her chin buried to her chest.

"I brought her to you to apologize," Leonardo said.

"Apologize?" Viviana raised her brows.

"Yes, to you," Leonardo nodded his head. He looked as enthusiastic as a preschooler offering his teacher a snack. "I know what she tried to do to you with the help of Evander."

Viviana’s heart skipped a beat.

"Are you impressed, my Angel?" Leonardo smirked. "Your husband did nothing about it. But I am not going to leave it at that. Also... I killed Evander for your sake. I avenged you, Angel," he said.
