Chapter 250: Heartless Mother

"Tabitha!"

Vito Vitale entered the room in a large gait. His sharp eyes were twinkling, and he had an impeccable charm as he walked in. Tabitha stood up out of reflex.

"...been a while," Vito said.

"It has been..." Tabitha chuckled awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck. She even snorted out of nowhere and got embarrassed.

Vito was smiling. But those dark eyes were not smiling. In fact, the slight curl at the corner of his lips revealed the disgust he was hiding.

"I found my daughter," he said.

"Hehe..." Tabitha chuckled awkwardly.

His men asked her about her daughters and he is talking about daughter. She was fearing that Vito figured out that she threw away the runt. But maybe he didn’t? She was relieved.

"I had no choice but to hide it from you, Vito. Not a day goes by without me regretting the decision I made in the past. I was married and...I couldn’t come to you stating that I was pregnant with your child...Let’s face it. You wouldn’t have cared and the life I earned hard in the Bruno family would have been lost...I had lot to lose..." she bowed her head to hide the emotions.

Tabitha didn’t want Vito to be disturbing Helena for her kidney. Her life is already in trouble with her husband. The only reason he is nice to her these days is because he thinks that she is carrying his son.

But it would give her status in the Palatini family if it is revealed that Vito Vitale is her real father.

Sure, there is a chance that Nicholai throws her away for being an illegitimate child. But if Vito Vitale interferes and offers some partnership, Nicholai won’t refuse that offer.

Overall, it’s a positive. Having Vito Vitale by Helena’s side would offer her great support for the coming storm.

Tabitha gasped as she felt a warm breath on the top of her head. She came out of her reverie and looked at the looming figure in front of her.

Those demon eyes... Come to think of it, she saw those eyes on someone else.

"The daughter you threw away..."

Vito’s voice had gotten deeper with age. The deep vibrations in his intonation sent shiver to her bones as what he said registered in her brain.

The daughter she threw away.

He knows!

"All the excuses you said... You could have asked the maid to leave the child in front of my house with a letter. I would have raised her with my son. It’s not like I was lacking to feed one more mouth in my enormous mansion! You had my flesh and blood abandoned on the stairs of some church as if she had no one..."

Vito Vitale stopped and furrowed his brows as if he got something.

"Except... you didn’t ask the maid to leave her in the stairs of the Church, did you? You carried on as if you had only one daughter. Oh, you f*cking b*tch...you cruel, heartless wench! I didn’t peg you for someone who could kill your own flesh!" he clenched his jaws.

No, Tabitha wouldn’t have wanted to leave evidence of her mistake. She would have wanted the baby dead. That poor maid must have felt sorry for the baby and left her on the stairs of the Church.

Vito balled up his hands. He wanted to punch Tabitha to death. How dare she throw his daughter as if she was trash? How dare she?

"Didn’t you know I was a heartless wench when you slept with me?" Tabitha raised her voice. "You had fun with me whenever you came to the city. You knew I was married. You knew I had a daughter. Did you bother to think or stop? You take me after what... three decades and decide to throw accusations on me?"

Vito Vitale turned and walked to the table. Seeing his turned back, Tabitha continued.

"What was I supposed to do?" Tabitha’s voice shook. "Everyone was blaming me for taking the place of the legitimate wife of my husband! Even when I was pregnant, I was always the "other woman"! Should I have brought that sick, dying runt home for them to laugh in my face calling it karma for giving birth to a mongoloid? How much more shame should I have put up with?"

Her chest heaved in anger.

*Slap*

"Beware who you are talking about! You are talking about my child!" Vito rubbed the back of his hand on his suit. His lips were pressed to a line.

How dare she call his daughter a mongoloid?

"She grew up into one fine lady. She is married and unlike the daughter you raised, she could make her husband fall for her. My daughter knows how to have her husband wrapped around her fingers," he scoffed.

Tabitha’s lips twitched in anger but then she controlled herself. "About that..." she walked closer to Vito and held the sleeve of his jacket. "Can’t you help her with her husband. The Palatini family will..."

Vito looked at her. "You didn’t even ask about your other daughter," he pressed his lips.

Tabitha gulped. She didn’t even look at that baby once she was told that it had a lot of complications and it was hard for it to survive. She had forgotten about the existence of that baby she asked her maid to throw in the river.

"Yeah," Tabitha forced a smile on her face. "Where is she? Who is she married to? Does she have children?" she stacked the questions to feign interest.

In the bottom of her heart, she had a doubt. Those eyes, the resemblance... the wife of the young lion. Could she be the...

Vito Vitale looked at Tabitha with a smile. He freed his sleeve from her grasp and glared at her. It was obvious that she had no interest over the baby she threw away like trash.

Tabitha took an unconscious step back.

"I want to beat you up so badly," he gritted his teeth. "You already saw it, right?" he walked to the table. "My reports..."

"Reports?" Tabitha wetted her lips. "No, I didn’t..."

Vito smirked. "I have renal failure. But it’s fine. I have AB positive blood. I can get kidney from anyone. So I thought. But you, Tabby... naughty, cruel Tabby, you changed my mind... You’ll provide me with both kidneys and make yourself useful for me to make your death worthwhile," he walked to her.

"No!" Tabitha shook her head and stumbled backward. "What did I ever do against you?"

Vito Vitale laughed aloud.

She still hasn’t gotten it!
