Chapter 234: She’s More Than That
"Minerva..." Leander said holding her close to his chest.
In his dark eyes she noticed a little swirl of ponderance.
"What?"
Viviana asked holding his cheeks.
"Minnie..." he chanted her name again and again as if he was saying a prayer while carrying her to bed.
Viviana heard her heart pound in her ears. Sinking in the depth of his magnetic eyes as she listened to him hum the name he gave her, she smiled.
"What is it, sugar?" she asked.
He smiled placing her on his lap. She wrapped her legs around his waist and rested her forearms on his shoulder to have a clear view of his eyes.
She’ll never get tired of looking into his eyes.
"You’re looking at me..." he smiled. "You weren’t looking at me yesterday."
A layer of mist formed a thin curtain over his eyes adding to the allure. The corner of his lips was twitching as he expressed his true feelings.
Viviana’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t fathom how a matchless man like Leander could find something in her that he likes.
But he is not bluffing. He means what he says. He proves it by his actions. Whenever he shows her how much she means to her she finds herself cornered.
She loves his love and at the same time, when the truth that she is unfit to stand beside him hits her, she feels trapped not knowing what to do.
On the other hand, if he finds her suitable for him, who is she to question his decision? He is the smarter one.
She probably will spend the rest of her life in this dilemma. She was not happy with that. But she was unable to choose one or the another.
She does not want to leave him. She wants to be his wife however short her life might be. She was willing to do anything to stay by his side.
"Don’t think too much of me," she kissed him.
"Why not?" he asked.
"I’m Apollonia Vitelli," she said.
"What?" Leander furrowed his brows. "What’s with this new name?"
How many names does she have?
"You haven’t watched The Godfather?" Viviana was shocked. "How can you call yourself a mafia if you~"
"No real mafia has time to watch movies," Leander flicked his forehead. "The Godfather? Is that the movie Nellie used to talk about a lot?" he asked.
Viviana nodded. "You have time now. Shall we watch?" Viviana got excited.
"No," Leander said blankly. "Why waste time watching movies?" he mumbled. There are other fun things to do.
Viviana pouted and turned her face.
"Fine," he grabbed her chin and made her look at him. "Tell me about Athena. I’ll listen," he said.
"It’s not Athena. It’s... never mind," she pretended to be angry.
"Meanie Minnie, don’t leave me hanging..." he playfully bit her neck.
"You’re very useless. At least watch Game of Thrones with me. I haven’t watched the final season yet. But don’t give me spoilers," she looked at him and batted her eyes.
"Game of Thrones?" Leander grimaced. "What movie is that?"
Viviana plopped on the bed and sighed deeply. She couldn’t believe him.
"You had the book in your study—The Song of Fire and Ice," she asked. She wondered if he is pulling her leg.
"They made a movie out of that book? Ah... I vaguely remember Nellie mentioning it to me years back. I love Ned Stark from the book. I’ll watch it with you," he said enthusiastically patting her derrière.
"Not a movie, a series..." Viviana looked at him with a blank expression. "And Ned Stark?" she shook her head despondently. "How far did you read?"
Leander lied on his belly just like her. Kneading her derriere, he kissed her cheek. "You still haven’t told me why you are Apollonia."
"Never mind," Viviana kissed him. "It’s not very important."
"Is it not?" Leander rolled her to her back and climbed on top of her.
"No," Viviana shook her head.
"Is it not?" he kissed her chin.
"No," she hissed.
"Really?" he asked as his hand slipped inside her night dress. "It isn’t?"
Viviana bit her lower lip and looked into his eyes. Her breathing became heavier as his hand reached her mound. He smiled and leaned to her. She reached him for a kiss.
A knock on the door interrupted the steamy moment. Viviana looked for the duvet to cover herself. She was not sure if Leander locked the door.
"Shall I bring lunch upstairs?"
Katerina was at the door. Leander looked at Viviana. At that moment as if her stomach had ears, it started grumbling.
"Yes!" Leander answered. "My honey is hungry!
Viviana closed his mouth. "What are you saying?" She glared at him. She could hear Katerina laugh from the other side. He never talks this way to Katerina when they are back in orchid gardens.
His honey?
"Get off! Let me get dressed," she tried to push him away. But he plopped on her, holding her to the bed.
"Come on!"
Viviana had to struggle hard to slip from under him. She glared at him for laughing at her. "Tell me where my clothes are!" she gritted her teeth.
Leander was only amused by her struggles.
"Stop laughing!" she threw a pillow at him and he caught it on his face. He then plopped on the bed face down as if he was taken down by the pillow.
"Where are my clothes, Leander?" Viviana asked.
"I am dead. You killed me," he said in a robotic voice. Viviana really wanted to kill him.
Katerina had returned with the lunch and knocked on the door.
"Coming!" Leander sprang up.
Viviana was driven to tears. She is wearing a revealing nightwear she is unaccustomed to and she cannot find the closet wherever she looked. To top it off, her husband is acting as if everything is a joke.
"Leander!" she called him.
He looked at her with a playful smile and shrugged. Viviana wrapped herself around with one of the curtains as Leander opened the door. With only her head peeking out, she watched Leander.
Leander stopped and smirked at her just as he reached the door.
"No," she shook her head. Her heart pounded.
Thankfully, Leander only got the food and sent Katerina back.
"Come, haunt me more, mummy," Leander said placing the food on the table.
Viviana pouted and covered her face. Leander smiled seeing her wrapped in white curtains.
"White suits you. But don’t cover your face," he hugged her.
She peeked her head out of the curtain with a pout. "Look at my little bud blooming beautifully for me," he smiled.
Viviana couldn’t hold her pout and smiled. "You are such a...jerk," she leaned on him.
He hugged her and took in a deep whiff of her scent. "It’s Katerina. Why are you hiding?" he asked. He couldn’t get why she feels shy to let another woman see her. It’s not like Katerina haven’t seen her at her worst.
"I don’t want others to see how I am dressed in front of you," she said.
Leander chuckled. She indeed is one of a kind and he loved her for it.
He dragged her to eat. Viviana was hungry and she focused on eating. Leander was scrolling through his phone and she didn’t mind it. He’s been on his phone a lot. He must be busy with something.
"You are not Apollonia," he said placing the phone down.
"What?" Viviana looked at him. He looked somber.
"You are not Apollonia Vitelli from that movie," he explained.
Viviana thought about it. In that movie, Apollonia would be someone approved by the Corleone family. But she is not approved by the Kastello family. And she doesn’t have a family.
"Okay," she shrugged. As she said, it was not every important.
Leander stared at her eating without any change in her expression. She might have stuck him like a thunderbolt, and he might have had to wait until he married her (although untraditionally) to sleep with her. But she is not the same as that character.
Because God forbid if he lost her right in front of his eyes like Michael Corleone lost Apollonia, he wouldn’t be alive to marry another woman. He would die raining hellfire on everyone involved in her death.
So, yes. She is not Apollonia.

"Here’s your clothes," he pulled the drawer under the bed. "Choose whatever you want."
Viviana walked there with a skip in her step. She couldn’t stop smiling seeing the beautiful summer dresses in the drawer.
"New dresses!" she jumped in glee. "I’m getting a lot of new dresses!"
"Enjoy!" Leander watched her choosing the dresses leaning on the bed. "If you are up for it, I’ll take you out," he said.
"Where?" Viviana opened her eyes wide. She has slept a lot and she had her fill. She is up for it.
"Get dressed," Leander said. "And pack a bikini or two," he winked.
"We are going to the beach?" she raised her brows. "Thank you, love!" she jumped on Leander and kissed him. She then picked a floral dress and ran to the bathroom.
Leander rubbed his chest.
Love.... She called me love!
