Chapter 193: Unbelievable

Viviana clutched her skirt. She was feeling so tired after a long day, and now without allowing her to sleep, he is asking this question to her.

She didn’t answer him and turned her face.

"You are attending the party with me," he said as a matter of fact. "Next?"

His low voice rumbled in that cold room. Viviana didn’t even bother to turn to face him. She was so angry that she didn’t know how to answer.

His birthday is in a few hours... I should be nice to him.

"Nothing... there’s nothing more." She turned to face him bringing a smile to her face. "I’m tired. I want to go to bed."

Leander leaned forward supporting his elbows on his knees and interlocked his fingers together. He should be looking menacing, Viviana thought, but maybe she was tired she didn’t see any anger on his face. She was too tired to care.

"Next," he said. This time his voice was louder as if he was losing patience. "I know there is more."

Viviana sighed. "If you really want to know more, I do want to ask something of you. I know you will refuse, but I will ask nonetheless because you insist!"

Leander raised his brows and then his smile turned lopsided. It was like he was taunting her to speak.

"There is a tape your brother has... or might have... I want to know if he still has it. If he still has it, I want it back," she said.

She stared back at him, not backing off. She was serious about this request, although she sounded unsure.

"And what does this tape that my brother "might or might not" has, contain?" Leander asked.

Viviana took in a deep breath. Gabriella didn’t want to talk about the past anymore with Leander. But Viviana thought that Leander should know. And she knew that Leander would believe it only if there was proof. And so, she wanted him to find the proof.

"It’s the tape your brother recorded after abducting Gabriella the night you agreed to get help for her mother," Viviana said.

The teasing smirk on Leander’s face disappeared and a frown ruled his face. He clenched his jaws and fisted his hands.

"Heh!" he scoffed. "What else did she want?" the lopsided smile returned and Viviana could see that he was not believing her.

How predictable! He will never believe what sort of scum his brother is. Viviana wetted her lips.

"Nothing," she said. Gabriella didn’t ask for anything. Certainly, not from Leander. She didn’t want to ask anything from him. "She thanked you for relieving her of the contract. She wanted to be out of your skin as soon as possible."

"Ah..." Leander chuckled. "After all these years...after playing Nellie like a fiddle, after worming her way to my house, she suddenly developed a conscience and wants to live a peaceful life? And you believe her?" he asked.

Only he knows how much Lionel nagged him to meet her. He could only imagine how much she nagged Lionel for him to nag him. And now, the moment she sees his wife, she changed her mind.

Is she taking him for a fool? He wanted to kill Brie then and there.

Viviana had a lot to say but she held herself back. She didn’t want to anger him too much. She wanted him to find the tape from Evander.

Sure, there is a possibility that Evander destroyed that tape. But she was willing to take the chance. If Leander finds the tape, then that would be proof enough for Leander to accept how much of a scum his brother is.

"What about Nellie, huh? What is she going to do about him?" Leander asked.

Viviana’s eyes filled with tears. "Gabriella knows who she is. She doesn’t want to drag Mr. Yannis’ bright future by attaching herself to him."

"At least she’s self-aware," Leander mumbled.

Viviana gritted her teeth. But she kept herself from speaking her mind.

"And she’s grown to be a manipulator, huh? The moment her reign as the queen of the brothel ended, she wanted out, and suddenly there is a snuff film of her with Evander. Was it her tears?" Leander looked at Viviana with a sneer. "Is that what moved you?"

Viviana turned her face. She didn’t want to answer him.

"She wanted to be there. That’s why she went to my brother and offered herself. She wanted easy money for life. And now that she’s not in her prime anymore, she is regretting her decision and cooking up stories. Is it that hard to accept, Minnie? Some women like that lifestyle. Not everyone’s like you..."

"You are unbelievable..." Viviana shook her head in disbelief.

Gabby had to live such a wretched life for decades and this guy is easily dismissing her story. But this is something women face for ages. And his attitude is not even entirely wrong. There is a burden of proof for any accusation.

Especially for a heavy accusation like this. Even though there shouldn’t be any proof needed as everyone knows Evander’s character.

Leander opened his mouth to say something, but in the end, he decided not to. Viviana let out a deep sigh to control her anger.

"The tape will tell the truth then," she said. "That is if you have the guts to find it."

Leander looked at her without a change in expression. "Is she going to leave Nellie for sure? I don’t want her way back to suck on him~"

"She won’t!" Viviana interjected him. She was done holding back her anger. "How will she ever think of marrying him when his father paid to be with her after knowing about his son’s feelings?"

Leander furrowed his brows. There is a lot to unpack here.

Lionel’s father paid for Brie? He knew about Lionel’s feelings for Brie? And more importantly, Brie knew about Lionel’s feelings for her?

And why does it seem like...

"What is this new story you’re cooking?" Leander asked. "You’re meaning that Brie has feelings for Lionel? Is that what she told you?"

"Why? Is that hard for you to believe? Were you floating in pride that every woman was in love with your brooding charisma? Women like bright sunny guys like Nellie. But you wouldn’t know that, would you?" Viviana asked back. "And by the way, she didn’t sleep with Waldorf, none of them, if that concerns you."

Leander gritted his teeth. "You’re such a fool!"
