Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Don’t Tell Cooper Coldson About My Pregnancy
"Open the door." Noah Coldson stopped in front of the car door, his voice low and serious.
His voice was deep, giving a sense of solid reassurance and safety.
"Oh." Lola Gold hurried forward to open the door, at this time, Yolanda Greenwood’s safety was the most important.
Once in the car, she thanked him all the way and curiously asked, "Mr. Coldson, do you... know the Coldson Family? I’ve never heard Yolanda mention you."
"I’m Cooper Coldson’s older brother." Noah’s driving was both fast and steady.
Lola inhaled sharply, something dawning on her, and she quickly said, "Then... Big Brother, can I ask you for a favor?"
"Don’t tell Cooper about today’s events, whether Yolanda is pregnant or not, don’t mention it."
"Okay." Noah didn’t say much more, his eyebrows slightly furrowed, as if deep in thought.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the emergency room staff was already waiting at the entrance and immediately took Yolanda away.
Noah and Lola waited together outside the emergency room.
Doctors and nurses were constantly coming in and out, with blood bags frequently being sent in, which scared Lola immensely.
About three hours later, the emergency room light finally went out, and the two of them hurried over.
"Who is the patient’s family member?"
"I’m her friend," Lola said immediately.
The doctor then turned his gaze to Noah.
"I’m the patient’s older brother," Noah said gravely.
"Didn’t the patient’s husband come?" The doctor asked with dissatisfaction, "Doesn’t he want the child?"
Both their faces changed.
The doctor continued on his own, "She is carrying twins. Do you family members even care at all?"
"How are the patient and the fetuses?" Noah was the first to regain his composure.
"They are stable for now," the doctor sighed helplessly, "She needs to be hospitalized for observation. Make sure she eats well in the coming days, and don’t stress her; otherwise, not even a deity could save her children."
"Thank you, Doctor, we understand, thank you," Lola quickly expressed her gratitude.
Soon, Yolanda was wheeled out, her face as pale as paper and her lips nearly transparent, looking as if she could disappear at any moment.
Lola’s eyes instantly reddened, and she followed into the hospital room.
Noah took care of the hospitalization fees and went out to buy food and necessities, preparing everything meticulously.
The reliability of this man made Lola, as her best friend, feel quite inadequate.
That evening, after they had a simple meal, it was past eight o’clock when Yolanda finally woke up groggily.
As soon as Noah saw that she had awakened, he immediately left.
"Yolanda, Yolanda, how do you feel?" Lola grasped Yolanda’s hand, crying, her eyes already swollen, "Yolanda, do you know? You’re pregnant."
Pregnant?
In a daze, Yolanda felt like she was dreaming.
How cruel the heavens were, knowing that she could never be pregnant or become a mother in her lifetime, but always tormenting her with such dreams.
In the dream, Lola continued crying and talking, even saying she was carrying twins.
Yolanda couldn’t help but interrupt her, "Enough, stop joking. It’s impossible for me to be pregnant."
In the past, she too had dreamt she was carrying Cooper’s child, the sweetest and most extravagant dream.
But now, she didn’t want to dream such dreams anymore.
She struggled to get out of bed, muttering to herself, "I can’t sleep anymore; today I still have to go through with the divorce from Cooper."
"Yolanda!" Lola pinched Yolanda’s hand hard, "Wake up, it’s already dark, the Civil Affairs Office is long closed."
Yolanda was stunned.
Lola continued, "You fainted when you left the house this morning, and now we’re at the hospital."
This isn’t a dream?
Yolanda’s eyes darted around, looking at Lola, "What did you just say?"
"What?" Lola repeated her earlier words, "I said you fainted this morning when you left, and now you’re in the hospital."
"No," Yolanda seemed anxious, "just now you said... who’s pregnant?"
"You!" Lola realized that Yolanda herself didn’t know, "You’re over two months along with twins."
"That’s impossible!" Yolanda didn’t believe it at all, "Absolutely impossible!"
"It’s true!" Lola looked back and noticed Noah was no longer there, "Strange, where did Big Brother go? He can testify."
She continued to ask Yolanda, "Yolanda, are you hungry? What would you like to eat? The doctor said you don’t eat enough and the babies aren’t developing well, so you should eat more from now on. What do you want? I’ll go buy it for you."
Yolanda, however, was unresponsive, just staring blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought.
At that moment, there was a noise at the door; Lola looked up and saw Noah returning with bags of food and nutritional supplements.
"You must be hungry, Yolanda," Noah set down his bags, "Lola, see what she likes to eat and feed her some."
"Sure, thank you, Big Brother, you’re such a good person," Lola was truly admiring his gesture.
Was this man really the brother to Cooper Coldson and Christopher Coldson, those two jerks?
She helped Yolanda to sit up, "Yolanda, let me feed you some porridge."
On seeing Noah, Yolanda was also startled, "Big Brother? What are you doing here?"
"It was thanks to Big Brother, who took us to the hospital, and he’s taken care of so much," Lola hinted with her eyes at all the stuff in the corner, all bought by Noah.
Yolanda looked grateful, "Big Brother, you’ve been such a help today. How much was all this? I’ll pay you back."
"You calling me Big Brother and not having divorced Cooper, do we really need to be this transactional?" Noah shook his head.
"But..." Yolanda smiled wistfully, "If I hadn’t fainted today, I would already be divorced from Cooper."
"I disagree." Noah’s voice was definite, "You’re carrying Cooper’s children; you can’t get divorced."
"Big Brother!" Yolanda was panicked, "Please don’t tell Cooper about my pregnancy."
"Why not?" Noah was clearly puzzled.
Yolanda bowed her head, "Cooper said he didn’t like children, that even if I became pregnant, he would force me to abort it."
She begged, looking at Noah, "Big Brother, I beg you, please don’t tell Cooper."
"Even if he doesn’t find out now, he will eventually," Noah reasoned, "Besides, he’s the Patriarch of the Coldson Family, if he doesn’t want the child..."
"It’s true!" Yolanda was certain.
She had heard Cooper say so many times, even when he was angry with Isabella Ross; Cooper’s stance was always firm.
Her pregnancy absolutely could not be known to Cooper.
Finally, Noah nodded, "Fine, but you have to agree to a condition."
"What condition?" Yolanda was puzzled.
"You can’t divorce Cooper!"
"Please," Lola’s good opinion of Noah halved upon hearing this, "Do you have any idea how Cooper has treated Yolanda over the years? On what grounds can you prevent Yolanda from divorcing him?"
