Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Eliana Reed Causes a Scene at the Charity Banquet

Everyone looked over.

Yolanda Greenwood’s face changed subtly; she hadn’t expected Eliana Reed to come.

Logically speaking, Eliana Reed would never be invited to such an occasion, unless... she was here as Cooper Coldson’s mother-in-law.

Sure enough, Isabella Ross took the initiative to welcome her.

"Dear mother-in-law, welcome!"

If Yolanda Greenwood remembered correctly, this was the first time Isabella Ross had addressed Eliana Reed in this way.

"Madam, it’s been a long time." Eliana Reed appeared overwhelmingly grateful.

Yolanda Greenwood didn’t know what kind of trick Eliana Reed was pulling this time; she looked towards Melissa Greenwood, only to see Melissa sporting a faint, barely-there smile.

After greeting Isabella Ross, Eliana Reed turned to Old Master Coldson.

"Sir, I cannot accept these five hundred million; please take them back."

Old Master Coldson frowned, "This money is not for you."

Eliana Reed actually knelt down in public. "Old Master, Madam, it was Yolanda and I who did wrong by you in the past, and I come to apologize."

The entire room burst into uproar, with even more eyes turning to Yolanda Greenwood.

Yolanda Greenwood felt almost unbearably ashamed; regardless, to everyone present, Eliana Reed was her mother.

Now, with Eliana Reed having knelt down, did she intend to force Yolanda to kneel as well?

"Dear mother-in-law, please get up," Isabella Ross stepped forward to help Eliana Reed up. "Let bygones be bygones, we are family now."

"You, the Coldson Family, are people of standing. It was me... it was my daughter and I who made such a mistake back then..."

Eliana Reed was a mess of tears and snot, looking towards Cooper Coldson and Melissa Greenwood, "Tearding Little Cooper and Melissa apart was our sin."

She turned her head to address everyone loudly, "I am here today to tell everyone. Yolanda Greenwood will soon divorce Cooper Coldson."

Though many had already guessed the outcome, hearing it from Eliana Reed herself was still quite shocking.

After all, she was Yolanda Greenwood’s mother, who had obstinately caused a scene at the Coldson Family to secure the marriage years ago.

Looks of inquiry and curiosity increasingly focused on Yolanda Greenwood.

Clearly, everyone was waiting for her to make a statement.

Yolanda Greenwood was about to speak when Old Master Coldson beat her to it, "Mother of Yolanda, the matter between Little Cooper and Yolanda is a private one!"

He paused, his tone becoming heavier, "It’s a private matter of the Coldson Family."

His implication was clear: there was no need for her to stir up this trouble time and again.

"Old Master, you are a good man. I thank you for taking care of Yolanda all these years, but this is where it ends."

Eliana Reed glared at Yolanda Greenwood. "Come here quickly, and go home with me."

So this move was meant to completely drive Yolanda Greenwood away and cut off any lingering hopes Old Master Coldson might hold.

"Yolanda," Old Master Coldson looked at Yolanda Greenwood, "stay by Grandpa’s side. Without Grandpa’s permission, no one can take you away."

Yolanda Greenwood forced a smile, "Thank you, Grandpa."

Right then, they had given her an opportunity.

She stepped forward from behind Old Master Coldson.

"Yolanda Greenwood!" Cooper Coldson called out to her, unexpectedly, "Don’t cause trouble."

The event had already turned into such chaos; did it make a difference what she did now?

Isabella Ross and Melissa Greenwood were secretly pleased — as long as Eliana Reed took Yolanda Greenwood away, she would no longer have the face to stay with the Coldson Family or cling to Cooper Coldson.

"Come here," Eliana Reed urged.

Yet, Yolanda Greenwood stopped, standing in the middle of everyone.

This time, she intended to truly become the center of attention for herself.

Yolanda Greenwood’s gaze swept over the crowd, finally resting on Eliana Reed’s face.

Her eyes grew cold. "Eliana Reed!"

She began by calling out Eliana Reed’s full name directly.

"What are you going crazy about now?"

Eliana Reed felt a creeping unease. Could Yolanda Greenwood really dare to tear her face off in front of so many people?

Had Yolanda lost all shame?

"The one who’s gone crazy has never been me; it’s you, the so-called ’Mom.’"

A wry smile came over Yolanda Greenwood’s face as her voice grew louder.

"No matter if it was a year ago or today, this woman who shows up in the name of my mom has never once considered my feelings."

"A year ago, and even further back, I endured it all because she was my mom."

"But now I’ve understood that no mother would harm her own daughter like this, so..."

"Today, in front of Grandpa Coldson, all the Coldson Family, and everyone here as witnesses, I, Yolanda Greenwood, hereby sever all ties with Eliana Reed as mother and daughter."

Whispers began to stir; no one expected things to turn this way.

Christopher Coldson nudged Cooper Coldson from behind, "That’s so cool! If I had that courage, I would have stopped using the Coldson surname long ago!"

Cooper didn’t speak; he was equally shocked.

Across his life, and even just moments before, he had countless times been dissatisfied with Isabella Ross’s decisions, but he never had the courage to resist, let alone to cut ties completely.

What immense strength was hidden within that slight frame of the woman?

Eliana Reed was startled, she hadn’t expected Yolanda to be so resolute.

She subconsciously looked towards Melissa Greenwood, after all this was Coldson territory, and making a scene here likely wouldn’t end well.

"That’s enough." At this moment, Isabella Ross was the first to speak, "Yolanda, the issues with your mom..."

"She’s not my mom," Yolanda Greenwood said coldly.

"You ungrateful girl!" Eliana Reed couldn’t contain her rage and stepped forward, raising her hand to hit Yolanda.

"If you dare to touch me today, I will call the police immediately."

Yolanda took out her phone, "You know I mean what I say."

Eliana gritted her teeth in anger but also knew that Yolanda could really do it.

"Enough!" Isabella Ross was somewhat exasperated, "Sort out your issues at home."

The charity dinner ended abruptly.

On the way back, the atmosphere in the car was heavy, and Old Master Coldson didn’t say a word.

Once home, he finally spoke coldly, "When Little Cooper returns, have him come see me."

"Father!" Isabella Ross’s mouth twitched, "Little Cooper is taking Melissa home, he probably won’t be back tonight."

"If he doesn’t come back, then he should never enter this house again!"

Old Master Coldson was enraged.

"Isabella Ross, do you think you’ve won a great victory today? Don’t forget, Yolanda and Little Cooper aren’t divorced yet. With what you’re doing, where are the Coldson Family rules and dignity?"

"Father!" Isabella Ross couldn’t help but feel wronged.

She just wanted to drive Yolanda away, but as for the rest... Even if others had their thoughts, who would dare say anything?

"Yolanda, help me upstairs," Old Master Coldson said, no longer paying attention to Isabella Ross.

Meanwhile, after Cooper had taken Melissa Greenwood to the hospital, he received a WeChat message from Christopher Coldson.

[Big nephew, your wife had it rough today. Betrayed by her own mom and even got beaten up.]

Cooper frowned.

[Beaten up? By whom?]

Christopher replied quickly, [Who else but the good friends of your future dear wife—those girls from the White Family and the Bennett Family, they really made a mess of her.]

Cooper didn’t reply further, put away his phone, and instructed Richard Reyes.

"Check what the White Family and the Bennett Family have been up to recently."

After returning to the old house, he went to see the old gentleman.

"So, the person you love is that Melissa Greenwood?"
