Chapter 71: A Real Battle Without Mosaic

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: A Real Battle Without Mosaic

"Grandfather," Cooper Coldson obviously didn’t want to say too much, "I’ve already made my decision, so don’t ask anymore."

Old Master Coldson’s face changed, "Alright, very well, I won’t ask."

He slowly lay down, turning his back to Cooper. "You all leave, move out of the old house tomorrow."

"Grandfather..."

"Get out!"

Cooper had no choice but to leave and returned to his own room.

After Yolanda Greenwood took a bath, she felt the wound on her head hurt even more, so she sat in front of the vanity mirror and rummaged through her hair, intending to disinfect the wound.

Just as she found the wound and hissed in pain, Cooper walked into the room.

Yolanda subconsciously covered the wound with her hair, looking unnaturally at the vanity mirror.

Even if her love was humble, she didn’t want Cooper to see her scar.

She couldn’t stand any sympathetic looks from Cooper.

Yolanda got up, preparing to go to bed, but Cooper suddenly held her shoulder.

"What are you doing?" she asked nervously.

Cooper didn’t speak, but reached out to fiddle with her hair.

Yolanda struggled to get up.

"Don’t move!" Cooper commanded sharply, noticing the disinfectant on the dressing table, "Aren’t you going to disinfect? Let me help you."

"It’s okay, not necessary," Yolanda spoke gloomily.

However, Cooper insisted, using his gaze to warn her.

She had no choice but to sit obediently.

Cooper quickly found the wound. It wasn’t big, but it was quite deep, startling at first sight.

He became inexplicably agitated, and his hand was a bit forceful as he dabbed the wound with a cotton swab.

"Ouch!" Yolanda winced in pain, "If you don’t want to help, then don’t. No one is forcing you. I can do it myself."

She tried to get up again.

"Sit properly!" Cooper’s tone softened slightly, "I’ll be gentler."

He sighed deeply, and his movements indeed became much gentler.

In the mirror, Yolanda saw the man’s expression, focused and even pained, which inadvertently made her momentarily disoriented.

It seemed... as if she was this man’s treasure.

Until Cooper slowly spoke, "Tomorrow, I’ll take you back."

Back?

Yolanda anxiously wanted to turn around and ask for clarification.

"Don’t move!" Cooper tapped her on the back of her head as if to punish her.

"We should just get the procedures done, and then I’ll send you away."

"To Lola Gold’s place? Or to our previous villa? That house will be yours from now on."

Yolanda sat silently without speaking.

The day had finally come.

Tears silently streamed down her face, tasting salty and bitter.

Yolanda quickly wiped away the tears, pulling off a smile uglier than crying.

"I don’t want that house; I will just stay with Lola for now. My left hand can paint now; I will have my own place in the future."

"..." Cooper was silent for a moment, "Why bother? The house is rightfully yours, and as for money..."

"I don’t want the money either," Yolanda interrupted.

It felt like Cooper was lavishing his pity on her.

"I can’t give you the shares, ten billion," Cooper said as if he hadn’t heard her, "I will ask Richard Reyes..."

Before he could finish, Yolanda stood up abruptly, turning to glare at him.

"Cooper, what do you mean? Are you pitying me?"

"I have known you for so many years, married for over a year. Think about it, do I care about money?"

"If you can’t give me what I want, then keep your pitiful sympathy to yourself."

Cooper looked at her, feeling extremely stifled, "What do you want?"

"..." Yolanda glared at him, tears involuntarily falling again, she wiped them and asked, "You don’t know what I want?"

Cooper just looked at her, seemingly waiting for her to say it herself.

But as a person who was about to get divorced tomorrow, what could Yolanda possibly say? Would it mean anything?

She turned her head away, refusing to look at Cooper. "Forget it."

Cooper seemed to want to say more when suddenly there was an urgent knock on the door.

Both of their hearts skipped a beat.

Yolanda hurried to open the door, only to see it was Old Master Coldson’s caregiver outside.

"Young Master, Young Madam, the old master..." The caregiver was so anxious she couldn’t speak clearly, tears flowing, "Hospital, hurry..."

Cooper rushed out like the wind.

Old Master Coldson had suffered a heart attack and passed out.

Cooper quickly carried him to the car.

"I’m coming too," Yolanda said, utterly distraught as she followed them.

"Get in the car." The luxury car sped out of the garage.

Isabella Ross hurriedly called Christopher Coldson, having her driver take another vehicle towards the hospital.

But she called several times, and Christopher did not answer.

At that moment, Christopher was in his large apartment, pressing Lola Gold against the enormous floor-to-ceiling window.

He had heard that Lola went on a blind date today.

"Did you think I was dead?" he asked through gritted teeth, biting her ear as he thrust.

Lola was too embarrassed to open her eyes, feeling utterly powerless like she was drowning.

She could only intermittently plead, "Family... family arranged it... I... I couldn’t refuse..."

Christopher would not marry her.

From the beginning, this was an understanding both were aware of, even Lola knew Christopher would not be hers alone.

Just like Randy Carter that day, not an exception, she knew there were countless Randy Carters.

She couldn’t sink any lower, so this time when her father said her stepmother introduced a man, she went to see him.

Even though he was nearly forty, bald, and potbellied... Lola felt her life was truly miserable.

Her phone behind her rang repeatedly, yet the man did not stop.

"Phone... phone!" Lola couldn’t help but remind him.

Outside the giant window, the sky was filled with stars, and from a distance, a building faced theirs.

Lola was almost sure that if someone across used binoculars, they could enjoy a real, uncensored show.

The occasional reflection of herself on the window made her feel utterly ashamed.

She knew Christopher was punishing her.

After a long while, Christopher finally released her.

Lola couldn’t stand anymore and collapsed to the floor, but Christopher quickly picked her up again.

He carried her to shower, warning her hazily,

"Next time, dare to disobey again. Without my permission, you can’t date or go on blind dates."

After they had showered, it was already two or three in the morning.

Lola fell asleep in the bathtub.

Christopher placed her on the bed and then checked his phone.

Seeing calls from Isabella and Cooper, he got dressed and called them back.

Half an hour later, Christopher arrived at the hospital.

Isabella immediately slapped him, "When will you ever learn?"

Christopher bowed his head, licking the corner of his lips, "How is he?"

Isabella immediately covered her face and began to cry, while Melissa Greenwood came over and gently comforted her.

"Aunt Ross, don’t cry."

Christopher turned to Cooper, "What exactly happened to the old master?"
