Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Coldson Family Is Not For You to Enter as a Rich Lady

Yolanda Greenwood’s face immediately flushed red, and she stammered, which was as good as an admission.

After all, she couldn’t talk about her family’s complicated issues everywhere.

"You really have a connection with Aunt Morgan," the nurse continued.

Aunt Morgan?

Yolanda quickly realized that the nurse was referring to Gemma Morgan.

She smiled, "She’s my relative. She’s my Eldest Aunt."

"That’s not what I meant," the nurse looked at Yolanda, "Actually, you look somewhat similar around the eyes."

"..." Yolanda didn’t know quite how she felt about that, but she didn’t deny it.

Because Lola Gold had once said that she didn’t look a bit like Eliana Reed, but she did somewhat resemble Gemma Morgan, almost like a mother and daughter.

Sadly, she would never have a mother as good as Gemma Morgan in this lifetime.

"A few days ago, when you needed a blood transfusion, it was she who donated, and now that she needs, you happen to be here."

After drawing blood, the nurse packed up her things, "If this isn’t fate, what is?"

Yolanda looked pale and, in a dizzy haze, heard the nurse’s words.

She struggled to get up, not caring about the dizziness, and hurried after to ask, "Nurse, did you just say... the blood was donated by my Eldest Aunt a few days ago?"

"Yes, she had just undergone surgery not long ago and was in poor health."

The nurse sincerely said, "Your Eldest Aunt really cares about you."

She was already walking away but then suddenly turned back, "She’s much better than your mom."

Yolanda watched the nurse walk away with complex emotions. Knowing now that the blood was from Gemma Morgan made her feel even worse about her earlier behavior.

She shouldn’t have told Gemma those things. No matter what Melissa Greenwood was like, Gemma had always treated her well.

How could any mother easily accept such news about their daughter?

Yolanda didn’t return to the resuscitation room. She waited at the end of the corridor until Gemma was out of danger before she silently left.

She really felt ashamed to face Gemma.

When Gemma woke up, it was already past nine at night.

"Mom, how are you feeling?" Melissa Greenwood immediately came closer to offer warmth and concern.

Gemma gave her a look, feeling her heart ache again.

She considered herself and the Eldest Greenwood to be decent people; how did they end up raising Melissa, such a vicious daughter?

What was she supposed to do?

Her family owed Yolanda too much!

"Mom, why are you crying? Are you uncomfortable? I’ll go get the nurse."

Melissa turned to walk out but was stopped by Gemma.

"It’s not necessary. I’m fine."

She closed her eyes wearily, "You go back. I want to be alone for a while."

Melissa felt something was off, "Mom, I’m not leaving. I’ll stay here with you."

"Leave!" Gemma’s tone was harsh.

"Alright." Melissa hesitated and then spoke, "By the way, about Yolanda’s treatment for her hand..."

She shouldn’t have brought it up; mentioning it made Gemma’s chest tighten suddenly, and before she could say anything, she fainted.

Melissa was terrified and quickly went to find the nurse, causing chaos in the ward once again.

Yolanda was unaware of everything that was happening in the hospital. She had told Lola Gold about the blood donation.

"This Eliana Reed is really shameless," Lola Gold couldn’t help but shake her head repeatedly.

Yolanda smiled helplessly, "I’m used to it."

"But Aunt Morgan, she really is an impeccable elder. If she were your mother..."

Clearly, at that moment, Lola Gold was reminded of her own troublesome father.

Gentle, beautiful, understanding, respectful of everything about their children... What parent wouldn’t like these qualities?

Yolanda Greenwood had her head down and didn’t speak.

Lola Gold knew she was feeling upset and went over to hug her, "But it doesn’t matter, if we can’t have such good parents, let’s just become that kind of mom ourselves."

When she said these words, her face was full of longing for happiness, but she didn’t notice Yolanda Greenwood’s expression growing worse.

"Lola, let’s go to bed early," said Yolanda Greenwood, forcing a smile as she got ready to wash up.

But just as she stood up, the phone rang—it was Cooper Coldson calling.

"That’s odd, he’s not worried I’ll forget tomorrow’s appointment, is he?"

She reluctantly answered the phone.

"Come downstairs, I’m outside your building," Cooper Coldson’s voice sounded anxious.

"What’s happened?" an uneasy foreboding rose in Yolanda Greenwood’s heart.

"They called from the old family house, said Grandpa is ill."

"I’ll be right down."

Yolanda Greenwood quickly changed her clothes, told Lola Gold, and then immediately went downstairs.

Cooper Coldson was indeed waiting below.

The two of them got into the car in silence and headed straight for the old family house.

On the way, Yolanda could not help but ask, "How did he suddenly fall ill? Is it serious?"

"When was the last time you went back?" asked Cooper, his voice cold.

Yolanda went silent instantly. Indeed, ever since she received the message that Melissa Greenwood was coming back to the country, she had been swamped with various messes and had not visited Grandpa for nearly three months.

She felt full of guilt.

If there were only two relatives in this world who genuinely cared about and loved her,

one was Gemma Morgan, and the other was Grandpa Coldson.

She bowed her head, her eyes slowly reddening. If Grandpa Coldson really were in trouble, she would regret it forever.

Cooper noticed her condition and spoke coldly again, "Don’t panic, let’s see when we get back."

"Okay," Yolanda sniffed, trying her best to control her emotions.

Old Master Coldson’s ancestral home was located in the eastern part of the city, in the most expensive district, a lifetime achievement of Old Master Coldson.

He had brought the Coldson Family to the peak of wealth and had personally handed it over to Cooper.

So, for Cooper, he too was unique.

Back in the day, if it were just Eliana Reed causing trouble, the Coldson Family had ways to deal with it.

It was because Old Master Coldson had met with Yolanda alone, accepted this granddaughter-in-law, that Cooper had to marry her.

The car headed east, and upon reaching the Coldson Family’s old house, they both hurried out.

Isabella Ross, Cooper’s mother, was the first to come out to greet them.

She was over fifty years old but still charming, her face showing no signs of age.

Cooper’s father had died early, and back then, she managed two children and rose to power with Old Master Coldson.

She was a person accustomed to power and control, and thus, she never accepted the actions of Eliana Reed and Yolanda from the beginning.

All these years, she had never allowed Eliana Reed into the Coldson house.

"Little Cooper," she saw Cooper and was initially pleased, but then her voice hardened, "Why have you lost so much weight?"

She looked accusatorily at Yolanda, "What have you been doing? With how busy Little Cooper is outside, can’t you take proper care of him?"

Yolanda silently bit her lip.

Over the years, this had always been Isabella Ross’s attitude toward her.

In the eyes of Isabella Ross, Yolanda was not a daughter-in-law of the Coldson Family but just a free nanny.

With her mind worried about the old master, Yolanda did not want to say much.

But Isabella Ross was relentless, "The Coldson Family let you in, not to be a lady of leisure. If you can’t even take good care of Little Cooper, then it’s better to leave early..."
