Chapter 479: Chapter 479: Like a beast ready to go berserk at any time
Yolanda paused outside the door for a moment before speaking again with resignation, "Adam, I’m just outside. If you need anything, let me know at any time."
She sat heavily on the sofa, feeling that Adam was really off today.
But the other party was clearly very resistant to her help at the moment, so she could only wait and observe.
However, until evening, Adam hadn’t come out of the room, so Yolanda had to knock on the door again, "Adam, I’m going to pick up Ella."
She waited for a while, and seeing there was still no response, she quietly left on her own.
At the kindergarten gate, it wasn’t yet time for school to end, and the children were all in the classroom, so Yolanda went in to wait outside the classroom.
She saw that Little Gabriel and Little Ella were very well-behaved, and she felt happy in her heart.
Finally, when school was over, the two little ones ran out of the classroom together and jumped into her arms.
"Mom, we saw you earlier," Little Ella said proudly.
Yolanda pretended to be angry and pinched her daughter’s little nose, "Oh, you, not paying attention in class, huh?"
"Not at all, it was brother who saw first," Little Ella tattled and even stuck her tongue out at Little Gabriel, then hid her face behind her mom coquettishly.
Little Gabriel bowed his head and seriously promised, "Mom, I’ll pay attention in class next time and won’t notice you."
Yolanda couldn’t help but laugh, rubbing the little one’s head, "Alright, I know Gabriel is the best behaved."
"It’s not fair," Little Ella pouted.
Yolanda and Little Ella played with Little Gabriel for a while, then the mother and daughter bid farewell first. Actually, after leaving the kindergarten, Yolanda saw Cooper in the café across the street, but she quickly looked away, pretending not to see, and took Little Ella onto a taxi.
"Mom," Little Ella asked with confusion after getting in the car, "Was that Uncle Coldson in the café just now?"
Yolanda nodded thoughtfully, "It should be."
"Why didn’t Uncle Coldson go to pick up brother directly? Was he waiting for someone?" Little Ella was curious.
"Maybe," Yolanda knew Cooper was waiting for her to leave.
When they got home, Yolanda was about to remind Little Ella not to disturb Adam, but she saw Little Ella had already run into Adam’s room.
It seemed that, after she left, Adam had come out.
"Dad, what’s wrong?" Little Ella ran into the room and saw Adam lying in bed with the cover on, looking a little pale, "Are you not feeling well?"
"Out." Adam heard the sound and frowned irritably.
Earlier, he couldn’t hold it in and got up to go to the bathroom but forgot to close the door.
"Dad?" Little Ella was very worried about Adam, not noticing his emotional tone, she struggled to climb onto the bed, "Dad, what’s wrong?"
"Did you not hear me? Are you deaf?" Suddenly Adam sat up and threw Little Ella off the bed, "Get out!"
Little Ella was frightened by Adam’s demeanor, holding back tears but not daring to cry.
"Ella!" Yolanda dropped everything and rushed in upon hearing Adam’s roar, immediately picking up Little Ella, "Ella, what’s wrong? Did you hurt yourself?"
Little Ella held back her tears, shook her head, but her eyes still looked pitifully at the person on the bed.
"Adam, what’s wrong with you? Ella was just worried about you, and what did you do?" Yolanda couldn’t take it anymore.
She knew Adam must have encountered some problems. She could tolerate his temper, but Ella was just a child; he shouldn’t treat the child like that.
Adam sat on the bed like a beast in fury, looking at Yolanda and Little Ella, saying nothing yet seemed ready to explode at any moment.
"Mom, don’t scold Dad," at this moment, Little Ella sensibly said, "Dad is sick, Ella won’t be mad at Dad."
Yolanda’s eyes instantly reddened; her daughter was too understanding, and she became even angrier looking at Adam.
"Dad, you should rest. Ella won’t disturb you. If you’re hungry, Ella will make some noodles for you. Don’t feel bad anymore," Little Ella continued, then said to Yolanda, "Mom, let’s go out."
"Okay." Yolanda patted Little Ella’s back and looked at Adam again, "Think about it yourself, whether you should treat Ella like that."
She hugged Little Ella and walked briskly toward the door.
"I don’t have a dad anymore." Suddenly, Adam spoke up, "My dad is dead. I don’t have a dad anymore."
Following that, he sat on the bed and started crying loudly.
Yolanda and Little Ella both looked over, their expressions were very shocked.
Especially Yolanda, she never expected Adam was like this because his father passed away, and for a moment, she felt a bit guilty too.
And Little Ella started crying again out of empathy.
Yolanda put down Little Ella, "Ella dear, don’t cry."
She looked worriedly at Adam, "When did it happen? Why didn’t you tell me earlier?"
"Just found out today." Adam wiped his tears, then looked at Little Ella standing on the ground, "Ella, come to dad."
Little Ella hesitated for a moment.
Adam appeared hurt, "What’s wrong, Ella? Don’t like dad anymore?"
"Dad!" Little Ella finally couldn’t hold back, she ran quickly and climbed onto the bed, snuggling into Adam’s arms, "Dad, don’t be sad, Ella and mom will feel sorry for you."
Adam hugged Little Ella and instinctively looked at Yolanda.
Yolanda sighed deeply, "Adam, don’t be too sad. By the way, where’s your hometown? Do we need to..."
"No need." Adam immediately interrupted her, "My dad is already buried. The family didn’t tell me because they didn’t want me to go back, it’s too troublesome."
Yolanda frowned, feeling this wasn’t right, "Not going back, is it really okay? If you want to, Ella and I will accompany..."
"No need! I think my father’s spirit will understand." Adam’s emotions clearly stabilized.
He apologized to Little Ella in his arms and asked for forgiveness.
Little Ella cautiously wiped Adam’s tears, "Ella isn’t angry, dad doesn’t need to worry."
"Such a good child." Adam rocked Little Ella in his arms.
"Alright, Ella, go change clothes, and let dad wash his face, change clothes too." Yolanda stepped forward to take Little Ella, then set the child on the ground.
Little Ella obediently ran off.
Yolanda hesitated for a moment, then spoke slowly, "Adam, I shouldn’t have snapped at you earlier, I really didn’t expect such a thing to happen."
Adam shook his head, "Not your fault."
"Adam, in the future, I hope you can tell me when something like this happens and not... take your emotions out on me or Ella," Yolanda sighed, "After all, we’re the ones who care about you the most."
"I know, I was a bit out of control earlier, Yolanda, don’t forgive me." Adam pleaded, looking at Yolanda.
