Chapter 47: Chapter 47 Cooper Coldson’s Love for Melissa Greenwood is Known to All

Yolanda Greenwood suddenly understood Jasmine King’s question and guessed it was Cooper Coldson’s doing.

She looked helplessly toward the living room and deliberately raised her voice, "Don’t bother treating it, I don’t want any ties with certain people anymore."

She knew Cooper well and knew that saying this would ensure he wouldn’t interfere.

As expected, footsteps came from the living room, and Cooper stormed upstairs angrily.

Jasmine naturally noticed as well.

She shook her head and sighed, "Madam, why do this to yourself? Even if you’re angry with your husband, you shouldn’t take it out on your own health."

Yolanda knew her decision was somewhat childish, but the thought of Cooper helping her because of Melissa Greenwood was unbearable.

She would find another way to deal with her hand issue; even if she could no longer paint, there would definitely be other paths open to her.

She helplessly tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"Madam," Jasmine couldn’t help speaking up again, "are you and your husband really getting a divorce?"

Yolanda nodded, "We’ll take care of it on Monday."

Jasmine sighed again, "But it’s clear the master cares deeply for you, why can’t you two resolve whatever grievances you have?"

Yolanda gave a bitter smile, "Actually, there are no grievances, it’s just..."

She looked upstairs, "it’s just that he doesn’t love me, and I don’t want to force him."

"He doesn’t love you?" Jasmine mused quietly, "Then who does he love?"

"You will know soon enough."

Yolanda believed that after their divorce was complete, Melissa Greenwood’s visits here would become more frequent.

"Is it your cousin?" Jasmine recalled the prior visits from Melissa Greenwood.

"You see, I told you’d know soon enough."

Yolanda’s smile was full of bitterness; indeed, Cooper’s love for Melissa was common knowledge.

She and Jasmine made a pot of silver ear fungus porridge together before she prepared to leave.

"Madam," Jasmine called after her, "why not come with me and send this porridge to your husband?"

"No thanks," Yolanda shook her head in refusal, "I guess he doesn’t want to drink silver ear fungus porridge anymore."

She looked around the villa one last time, guessing this would be her last visit here.

"I’m leaving." She departed without looking back.

From a second-floor window, Cooper watched her figure leaving and turned to open the door upon hearing Jasmine’s knock.

"Master, the silver ear fungus porridge is ready."

Jasmine, thinking of what Yolanda had just said, added, "The madam made it herself."

"Leave it on the table," Cooper initially didn’t want to drink it but then changed his mind.

Jasmine set down the porridge, waiting for Cooper to speak, but he dismissed her instead.

He had heard enough; no need to ask further.

"Ah," Jasmine heaved a deep sigh, "it’s such a pity if Madam can’t paint anymore."

Images of vibrant, dream-like paintings that he had once seen on Yolanda’s worktable flashed before Cooper’s eyes.

Indeed, it would be a pity if they were never seen again.

He called Melissa Greenwood.

"Find a way to heal Yolanda’s hand."

"Ah?" Melissa thought she was hallucinating.

"Heal Yolanda’s hand, and we owe each other nothing, isn’t that good?"

Melissa ground her teeth.

Why should she bother to heal that bitch’s hand?

She hoped Yolanda would be crippled for life, utterly dependent on others.

But she dared not let Cooper know these thoughts.

"Cooper, I’ve been regretting and blaming myself these days. You didn’t even need to ask; I was already looking for a way."

Cooper spoke again, "Heal her hand, and we’ll get married."

"Really?" Melissa could hardly contain her glee.

Afraid that Cooper might change his mind, "Cooper, don’t worry. I’ll definitely heal Yolanda’s hand."

After hanging up, Melissa tried calling Yolanda, but after several attempts without a response, she became infuriated.

"That bitch blocked me."

"Can’t get through?" Eliana Reed also started cursing, "That damned girl really doesn’t know her place. Melissa, don’t worry, I’ll call her."

She was confident, "I don’t believe she could have blocked me, her own mother, too."

But Eliana faced the same issue after several attempts.

Both were blocked by Yolanda.

Eliana exploded in rage, cursing incessantly.

"Enough already, will you stop?" Melissa yelled at her.

Eliana was taken aback, as it seemed to be the first time Melissa had ever shouted at her so fiercely.

"Mom!" With no one else around, Melissa went straight to calling her mom.

Eliana’s eyes immediately reddened, "My good daughter, my good daughter."

Melissa’s eyes quickly flashed with disdain, "I’m not mad at you, but you heard Cooper. If Yolanda’s hand is healed, we can get married."

Eliana nodded repeatedly.

"But now, Yolanda has blocked us, and it won’t be easy to handle."

"She should be happy about getting her hand healed," Eliana raised her voice, "I’m telling you, that girl probably can’t wait."

Melissa was not so optimistic, "Anyway, this needs your involvement. Go find her personally, take her to the hospital, handle it sincerely, don’t mess it up, you understand?"

"Don’t worry, I’ve got this," Eliana was confident.

Knowing Yolanda was staying with Lola Gold, she found Lola’s number and called her.

Lola hesitated upon seeing Eliana’s incoming call but quickly answered.

"Is that you, Lola?" Eliana’s voice was filled with flattery.

"Are you pretending not to know?" Lola’s tone was somewhat stern.

"Lola, thanks for hosting Yolanda these days, we really appreciate it," Eliana seemingly oblivious to Lola’s hostility.

"..." Lola was speechless, "Are you serious?"

"I mean it, can you send me your address? I want to bring you guys something."

"It’s not necessary; we lack nothing here."

"It’s a gesture from your aunt. Hurry up; if you don’t send it, I’ll just call your mom."

Lola huffed; refusing this old woman any further would be impolite.

"Fine, I’ll send it right away."

After hanging up, Lola sent the address and then called Yolanda.

"My mom is coming?" Yolanda was immediately on high alert.

"Looks like it. Don’t worry, Yolanda, let her come. I want to see what she’s up to now."

Yolanda didn’t respond; she had already caused enough trouble for Lola and couldn’t let Eliana create more issues.

She quickly took a taxi back.

She aimed to intercept Eliana before she reached Lola’s place.

No matter what, she couldn’t let Eliana cause more trouble for Lola.

Yolanda reached the entrance of the residential complex and confirmed with Lola that Eliana hadn’t arrived yet.

"Lola, I’m waiting at the entrance of the complex, I’ll make her go back once she arrives. Don’t come out; just wait for me to come back and have dinner."

As they were speaking, she saw the Greenwood family’s car arriving.

Soon, Eliana emerged, carrying a load of large and small bags, from the vehicle.
