Chapter 462: Chapter 462: He’s Doing What a Husband Should Do
"No." Cooper replied briskly, without any hesitation, "This kid might ignore others, throw tantrums, hit people, and curse, but he never lies."
Yolanda furrowed her brow, "So Adam was lying?"
"Did he... ever lie to you?" Cooper asked back.
Yolanda shook her head, "As far as I know, he hasn’t."
Cooper let out a cold laugh, "But according to what I know, he has, and it was just recently!"
Yolanda looked at him in surprise.
At this point, Cooper felt Adam was no longer the right person; he had no reason to give up on Yolanda and Little Ella for this scoundrel, and it’s clear Noah also misjudged Adam.
He decided to tell Yolanda the truth, "Yolanda, there’s something I think I should tell you."
"What is it?" Yolanda couldn’t help but feel a bit tense.
"Adam was expelled from the military."
"What?" Yolanda stared in shock. Being expelled from the military is no trivial matter. "Really?"
Cooper nodded, "I personally asked my brother, but my brother asked me not to tell you and said Adam would decide what to do, and I shouldn’t interfere."
Yolanda found it incredible, what kind of matter would cause Adam to be expelled? It’s terrifying.
"Yolanda, actually, I talked to Adam before, and he promised me he would take good care of you and Ella, so..." Cooper’s eyes showed some eagerness, "That’s why I was willing to temporarily give up on the idea of remarrying you, but now..."
"Stop talking." Yolanda interrupted Cooper, "Even if Adam was expelled, that’s a matter between him and me, as for you and me... there’s no other possibility."
She stepped back to distance herself from Cooper, "Today, it was indeed my fault, I apologize to you."
She bowed to Cooper, "Now I’m going to find Adam, you take care."
"Yolanda..." Cooper didn’t expect Yolanda to still reject him like this; he felt a tightness in his chest and went dejectedly to find the two children.
Yolanda entered the lounge and saw Adam standing by the window, clearly having seen everything that had just happened outside.
She hesitated for a moment and walked forward, "Are you okay?"
"What could be wrong with me?" Adam turned and sat in a chair, his attitude indifferent.
Yolanda thought it over but didn’t say anything. She didn’t want to argue with Adam outside, and she always felt Adam being expelled might be related to the incident at the daycare sports meet, which suggested Adam might have faced a severe blow.
She glanced at Adam, "Then take a rest for a while, I’ll accompany you."
Adam’s eyes showed a hint of surprise.
Little Gabriel and Little Ella were playing eagerly until it was nearly dark before reluctantly returning.
Little Gabriel was getting ready to go home with Cooper.
"I’ll find time to pick up Gabriel’s stuff." Cooper wanted an excuse to visit.
"No need, let’s meet somewhere tomorrow, I’ll bring them to you." Adam didn’t give him a chance.
"That would be troublesome." Cooper didn’t insist, but there was a faint anger in his eyes when he looked at Adam, "Just right, I want to talk to Dr. Sterling about Gabriel’s condition."
Adam chuckled softly, "Happy to oblige anytime."
Yolanda, seeing the bad situation between the two, quickly stepped in, "Alright, let’s leave it at that for today. We’ll go home, you should head back as well."
She smiled at Little Gabriel, "Goodbye, Gabriel!"
"Goodbye, Mommy!" Little Gabriel waved obediently, "Goodbye, sister!"
Cooper and Little Gabriel watched Yolanda and the others leave before getting in the car, and Richard drove them home.
Along the way, Little Gabriel was clearly sullen.
"Daddy, I’m sorry, I originally wanted to help you, but... not only did I not help at all, I made Mommy unhappy instead."
"Silly boy, Mommy wasn’t unhappy; you helped Daddy a lot."
"Really?" Little Gabriel looked at Cooper in surprise, not knowing how he helped.
"Really." Cooper ruffled his son’s little head, "You helped Daddy see clearly that Uncle Adam indeed isn’t suitable for Mommy; Daddy will get Mommy back."
"Really?" Little Gabriel was even more surprised, "Daddy, is that really true?"
Cooper nodded and extended his hand, "Come on, son, high five with Daddy, let’s work together to get Mommy back."
"Great, great." Little Gabriel suddenly became cheerful.
On the other side, after Yolanda and the others returned home, Adam seemed to have no emotions.
They had dinner together, and Yolanda soothed Little Ella to sleep. Indeed, Little Ella was tired today and fell asleep quickly.
Seeing the child asleep, she went to Adam’s room.
Adam seemed to have anticipated Yolanda’s visit, held his arms, and said, "Speak, what did Cooper tell you today?"
Yolanda furrowed her brow, "Adam, you were expelled from the military? Why didn’t you tell me such an important matter?"
"What good does it do to tell you? Can you help? Wouldn’t you just be worried and anxious?" Adam retorted confidently, "Cooper is really a blabbermouth."
"You shouldn’t have lied to me..." Yolanda felt some helplessness.
But Adam suddenly shouted, "Didn’t I lie to you for your own good? How can you be so ungrateful? What was Cooper’s purpose in telling you? Wanting to say I’m incompetent?"
"Adam, don’t be agitated." Yolanda was startled, "Cooper didn’t mean anything else; he just thinks..."
"Haha, Yolanda, you’re finally not pretending anymore, is that it? Can’t hold back speaking for him, is that it?" Adam stepped closer, "What other thoughts do you have? Say it all at once."
Yolanda instinctively stepped back, "I have no other thoughts, and I’m not speaking for Cooper."
"Yolanda, I’m warning you," Adam suddenly gripped her shoulders tightly, "Keep your head clear; your current husband is me, it’s me, do you understand?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he leaned in to kiss Yolanda.
Yolanda immediately started to struggle desperately, "Adam, calm down. Do you know what you’re doing?"
"What am I doing?" Adam stopped, his eyes red, "I’m doing what a husband should do."
He suddenly exerted force and directly pushed Yolanda onto the bed, "Yolanda, it’s been three years, I’ve waited for three years; no one else could do it, you can’t just keep making me wait like this?"
Yolanda was terribly frightened; she could see the overwhelming passion in Adam’s eyes.
She shook her head repeatedly and backed away, "Adam, be rational, be rational, not now, not in this situation, it’s not right, it’s not right..."
Tears couldn’t stop falling as she was truly terrified that Adam might completely lose his mind.
"Yolanda, believe me, I really love you, very, very much!" Adam clearly went into a fervor and lunged straight at her!
