Chapter 448: Chapter 448: The Language of Flowers of Baby’s Breath - Willing to Be a Supporting Role

Yolanda Greenwood took out her phone and saw a message from Cooper Coldson.

[Have a good birthday party for the kids. The four pink gifts are Ella’s, and the blue one is Gabriel’s.]

Yolanda felt somewhat touched, and just then, another message came in.

[Also, thank you for bringing those two little ones into the world four years ago. You’ve worked hard. You probably won’t want expensive gifts, the flowers will arrive soon.]

Yolanda almost burst into tears instantly. Holding her phone, she walked a few steps to the floor-to-ceiling window.

She vaguely sensed that Cooper Coldson shouldn’t be far away at this time, and sure enough, standing by the window, she saw a very small black figure below, and she was almost certain it was Cooper Coldson.

She immediately made a phone call.

The call connected quickly.

"You..." Yolanda tried to calm her emotions, "Do you want to come up? They’d be happier with you."

"It’s alright." Cooper Coldson walked to the flowerbed and sat down, slowly speaking, "I’ve already driven off, won’t be going back, you all have fun."

Yolanda bit her lip hard before squeezing out a few words, "Thank you."

She stood by the window, watching Cooper Coldson sit for a long time before getting up to leave.

"Mom," the two little ones ran up to her, looking up and asking, "Can we eat cake now?"

"Of course, eat cake, open gifts." Yolanda sniffled, "Today, you two little birthday stars can do anything you want."

"Great, great." The two little ones jumped and hopped happily.

At this moment, Little Ella apparently had forgotten about the Coldson Family’s old house incident, and seemed fine.

After a while, the doorbell rang outside. Yolanda got up to open the door and received a large bouquet of baby’s breath.

"Thank you." Yolanda blushed and thanked, this was the first time in three years she received flowers, unexpectedly from her ex-husband.

"Mom, such beautiful flowers, who sent them?" Little Ella ran over first, asking curiously.

Yolanda instinctively glanced at Little Gabriel, then awkwardly coughed, "I bought them myself."

"Did you buy them for me?" Little Ella didn’t sense anything unusual.

"..." Yolanda smiled, "Go open your gifts, these are for mommy."

"Come on, sis." Little Gabriel timely pulled Little Ella away.

Yolanda held the flowers, stood there for a while, then went inside. These flowers were very beautiful, she liked them very much.

She looked at them for a while, then impulsively checked the meaning of sending baby’s breath, unexpectedly finding five words: "Willing to be a supporting role."

She immediately put away her phone, thought for a moment, and then told herself that Cooper Coldson probably didn’t check this before sending them, it must be a coincidence, he probably just thought the flowers were beautiful, that’s definitely it.

In the evening, Yolanda bathed the two little ones separately and coaxed them to sleep.

Little Ella, scared during the day and then played too wildly, quickly fell asleep, but Little Gabriel kept his big eyes wide open, looking not at all sleepy.

"Gabriel, don’t you want to sleep?" Yolanda asked while gently patting him, lowering her voice.

"No." Little Gabriel answered softly, big eyes already looking at the ceiling, appearing thoughtful.

Yolanda smiled and asked him, "What are you thinking?"

"Dad!" Little Gabriel looked up at Yolanda’s eyes, "It would be nice if dad were here too."

Yolanda’s actions paused slightly.

"Mom, do you really not remember dad and Gabriel?" Little Gabriel’s tone was somewhat innocent.

"I’m sorry, mom... really doesn’t remember," Yolanda gently touched the little one’s cheek, "Not only dad and you, I don’t remember Ella either, all the memories seem to be sealed away."

Little Gabriel frowned, "Mom, why do people lose memory?"

"Because of a head injury." Yolanda actually looked it up herself and added another answer, "It could also be the brain protecting its owner."

"Mom, it must have hurt a lot." Little Gabriel pouted, almost crying out of empathy.

"Silly child, it’s all healed." Yolanda smiled.

Little Gabriel shook his head, tears streaming, "It must’ve hurt a lot, so mom can’t remember."

The more he thought about it, the more scared he got, "Mom, will dad also one day forget mom?"

"Huh?" Yolanda didn’t understand what he meant.

Little Gabriel said with a crying voice, "In the days mom wasn’t around, dad was also very sad, I often saw him secretly wipe tears, his heart must hurt so much too."

"There, there, he won’t forget." Yolanda couldn’t bear it, furrowing her brows slightly, she faintly realized there seemed to be a deep entanglement between Cooper Coldson and her.

The next morning, after getting up and tidying up, Yolanda received a call from Adam Sterling.

"How is it? Is Ella feeling better?"

"Yeah, she’s fine." Yolanda asked with concern, "How about dad? How is he?"

Adam Sterling couldn’t help but sigh, "Dad’s fine too, he’s blaming himself a lot, you guys should come back soon."

"Okay, I’ll head back right away." Hanging up the phone, Yolanda took the two kids downstairs and instructed the front desk to have someone send the room’s gifts to their residence.

After handling everything, she found Cooper Coldson waiting not far away.

Yolanda’s cheeks flushed slightly, she hesitated for a moment before approaching, "When did you arrive?"

"Just a while ago." Cooper Coldson smirked, "I figured you guys would be coming out, did you sleep well last night?"

"Yeah." Yolanda nodded and looked at Little Ella, "Ella?"

"Thanks for the birthday gift, Uncle Coldson, I really liked it." Yolanda reminded her yesterday that the gift was from Cooper Coldson and told her to thank him today.

Cooper Coldson indeed grinned happily, "As long as you liked it, Ella."

The little one didn’t seem so spirited, listlessly hugging Yolanda’s neck, "Mom, are we going back?"

"Yes, say goodbye to your brother." Yolanda sensed Little Ella’s mood, a bit of concern showing in her brows, "Ella, be good, grandpa is already..."

"I don’t want to go back." Unexpectedly, Little Ella reacted strongly upon hearing "grandpa," burying her little face in Yolanda’s neck.

"Ella, be good, it’s all okay now." Yolanda looked at her with heartbreak.

Cooper Coldson tentatively suggested, "How about... you stay another night?"

"I can’t, I have to go back." Yolanda sighed, "Adam Sterling called this morning and said grandpa was beating himself up at home."

"I see." Cooper Coldson nodded, noticing Yolanda’s struggle. He thought for a moment and then said, "Ella, do you want to visit uncle’s house?"

Little Ella still lay on Yolanda, peeking one eye at Cooper, "Is uncle’s house fun?"

"Fun, sis, my house has lots of toys, you can play however you want." Little Gabriel obviously welcomed his sister to come over.

Yolanda frowned, "Is this... okay?"
