Chapter 447: Chapter 447: Yolanda Greenwood’s heart has already turned toward Cooper Coldson
"How did you make it through those three years?" Yolanda asked curiously, probing, "Was it related to me?"
In an instant, Cooper’s emotions became somewhat uncontrollable, and his gaze towards Yolanda was filled with undisguised feelings.
Yolanda sensed something was amiss and instinctively looked away, changing the subject, "Why did we divorce in the first place?"
She didn’t give Cooper a chance to answer and continued speaking to herself, "From what my dad just said, it sounds like when we were together, you always bullied me?"
"Yes." Cooper bowed his head, quickly sorting out his emotions, "I’m sorry."
"Hard to imagine," Yolanda chuckled softly, "the Cooper I’ve come to know here always makes me feel he’d be a gentleman who treats women well."
"I’m sorry..." Cooper could only repeat this phrase.
"Alright, you’ve said it enough times." Yolanda smiled indifferently, "Same as ever, it’s all in the past, we need to look forward."
She stood up, "Let’s go, let’s go see the kids."
They went upstairs one after the other, entered the room, and saw Little Gabriel and Little Ella quietly playing, a few adults quietly accompanying them.
"Yolanda?" Lola Gold was the first to notice them, "Uncle Greenwood..."
"My dad and Adam Sterling have gone back." Yolanda apologized with a smile to the people and walked over to the bed, worriedly looking at the two little ones.
"Mom!" Little Ella spoke up, her voice still carrying a hint of crying as she jumped into Yolanda’s arms.
"Ella, be a good girl, don’t be afraid, it’s alright now, it’s alright." Yolanda then looked at Little Gabriel, "How’s our Gabriel doing?"
Little Gabriel nodded, "I’m alright."
"That’s good, Gabriel is so brave." Yolanda patted Gabriel’s head gently, then softly asked Little Ella, "Ella, shall we go home now?"
"No, no!" The little one visibly trembled.
Lola Gold immediately said, "Ella is still scared, why don’t you stay at my place tonight?"
Yolanda gently patted Little Ella’s back, "Alright, we won’t go back, we won’t go back."
But she also didn’t want to disturb Lola Gold and Caleb Sullivan, most importantly, she still hadn’t forgiven Caleb’s past actions.
"Never mind, it’s not convenient at your place." She smiled as she declined.
"Why not stay at a hotel for the night?" Cooper could see Yolanda’s dilemma, "It’s convenient, nothing to prepare, you can go back tomorrow morning."
"Alright." Yolanda immediately agreed, nodding.
Lola Gold frowned slightly, subconsciously feeling something was off with Yolanda, but didn’t continue to insist, "Alright, the hotel will definitely have better conditions than home, and it’s convenient."
"Gabriel," Cooper looked at Little Gabriel, "do you want to come along?"
"Can I?" Little Ella immediately brightened up, looking at Yolanda, obviously wanting to go.
"Of course, if Gabriel wants to go, my sister and I would welcome it." Yolanda naturally hoped Little Gabriel would come along, as Ella’s emotions were unstable, and Gabriel’s presence would help.
Indeed, Little Ella nodded immediately upon hearing this, calling out in her sweet, childlike voice, "Brother, come too, brother, come too."
"Then let me take you there." Cooper spoke at the right time.
At this point, Yolanda couldn’t refuse, she smiled and said, "Then thank you."
Everyone went downstairs together, Cooper leading Yolanda and the two children, while Lola Gold and Caleb Sullivan followed behind, Noah Coldson walking at the back.
As they passed through the living room, they saw Christopher Coldson standing there, his eyes silently following Lola Gold.
No one said anything.
After Cooper and the others got in the car, Lola Gold and Caleb Sullivan left together.
On the way home, Lola Gold couldn’t help but grumble, "Strange, why didn’t Yolanda want to stay at our place today?"
"What’s strange about that," Caleb Sullivan seeing through it, "Cooper is taking them to the hotel, it’s a good opportunity for them as a family to be together."
"What do you know?" Lola Gold couldn’t help but glare at him, "Let me tell you, Yolanda is not that kind of person."
"Not what kind of person?" Caleb Sullivan looked disdainful, Yolanda would have Cooper dismiss him, which means Yolanda wants to reconcile with Cooper, only now unable to say it openly due to moral restraint.
He sneered, "I think that Adam Sterling will end up with nothing in the end."
"Shut up!" Lola Gold hated Caleb at times like this, couldn’t help but hit him where it hurts, "Clearly knows nothing, yet likes to act pretentious, what a joke."
"What don’t I know?" Caleb Sullivan retorted stubbornly, "Isn’t it obvious? Now Yolanda’s heart has leaned towards Cooper, if she hadn’t remarried Adam Sterling, she would have already reconciled with Cooper."
"Stop spouting nonsense, Yolanda and Adam never got married..." In mid-sentence, Lola Gold stopped herself, "Anyway, just zip it."
Caleb Sullivan faintly guessed that maybe Yolanda hadn’t married Adam Sterling? Could it be?
On the other side, Cooper took Yolanda and the children to Empire Grand Hotel, he had already asked Richard Reyes to book a suite.
"How much is it per night?" Yolanda felt a bit guilty, "I’ll transfer the money to you."
"No need, consider it a birthday gift for Ella," Cooper gently wiped Little Ella’s tears, "Ella, happy birthday, try to be happy, alright?"
"Thank you, Uncle." Little Ella hugged Yolanda’s neck, speaking with grievance, at this moment, she felt that the uncle before her was even better, giving her a sense of security.
"Gabriel, listen to your mom, take care of your sister, okay? Don’t cause trouble." Cooper instructed.
Little Gabriel nodded, and then eagerly asked, "Aren’t you coming upstairs with us, Dad?"
Cooper shook his head, he didn’t want Yolanda to feel uneasy, "Dad’s not coming up, alright, you guys go ahead."
Yolanda said thank you again, then carried Little Ella, leading Little Gabriel upstairs.
At the door, she swiped the card to enter, and stepping inside, her eyes widened with astonishment.
"Wow, so beautiful!" Little Ella, being carried, instantly grew excited, "Mom, can you put me down please?"
Yolanda set the child down, "Run slowly."
Little Ella held Little Gabriel’s hand and ran inside, seeing the room beautifully decorated, a large pink bunny standing by the wall, and the words "Happy Birthday" displayed prominently with balloons.
On the table was a four-tier birthday cake, next to it were five birthday presents, four in pink wrapping, one in blue, and two cards.
Little Ella happily asked Yolanda, "Mom, are we having my and brother’s birthday here?"
Yolanda hesitated but nodded, obviously all of this was prepared by Cooper, though time was short, it was clear he’d been very thoughtful.
She walked forward a few steps and picked up the cards on the table.
One read, Ella dear, happy birthday!
The other read, Gabriel dear, happy birthday!
At this moment, her phone chimed.
