Chapter 442: Chapter 442 I Will Love You Like I Used To

"Have a seat, would you like something to drink?" Cooper Coldson offered.

"Anything is fine." Yolanda Greenwood replied with a smile.

Adam Sterling quickly stepped forward, "Cooper, I’ll go with you to get it."

So Yolanda found a seat, and Cooper and Adam went to get food and drinks together.

"Does Yolanda like juice or champagne?" Cooper asked subconsciously.

Adam kept his head down and quickly grabbed things, "You get your own, I’ll get Yolanda’s, I know what she likes."

Cooper froze in place, watched Adam’s back as he walked away, and then smiled bitterly to himself.

Yeah, they’re a married couple for three years, naturally they know each other’s preferences. Only someone like him, an incompetent husband, wouldn’t know what his wife likes.

He sighed deeply, grabbed something randomly, and went over to them.

The three of them were somewhat silent, the atmosphere noticeably not good.

Cooper tried to find a topic, "You’ve all seen Ella’s magazine, right? She was photographed really well, the kid’s got potential to be a star."

"Yeah, I saw it." Yolanda smiled, "I didn’t expect it either."

"I heard there might be future collaborations with the Children’s Wear Company, do you have any ideas? Like what you’d like to shoot?" Cooper asked again.

Seeing Adam had nothing to say, Yolanda could only respond, "We don’t really understand this, just let the company decide, but certainly on the principle that it won’t interfere with the child’s schooling, safety first."

"Don’t worry," Cooper turned to Adam, "Adam, do you have any preferences?"

Adam looked over indifferently, "Let President Coldson handle it."

The atmosphere instantly dropped to midnight.

"Uncle Sterling," at this moment, Little Gabriel suddenly ran over, "Come over, my sister and I need you."

He grabbed Adam’s hand and pulled him along.

Cooper stood up instinctively and saw Little Gabriel wink at him, evidently, this little guy did it on purpose.

He looked down at Yolanda and saw that she had obviously noticed Little Gabriel’s little gesture too. He couldn’t help being embarrassed and hurriedly explained, "This kid... I’ll go exchange with Adam."

"No need." Yolanda stopped him, "Let him go, he probably doesn’t want to stay here either."

Cooper could hear the sadness in Yolanda’s tone and sat down slowly, "Did you... really have a fight? Is it because of..."

"Rest assured, it’s not about you, it’s our own matter." Yolanda hastily interrupted him, sounding somewhat evasive.

Cooper laughed at himself bitterly, "I know it’s not about me, I’m aware of that."

He slowly exhaled, "Actually, a little friction between a couple is normal. You’re both not the type to make unreasonable trouble, some misunderstandings and conflicts can be resolved by talking it out."

Yolanda looked at him unexpectedly, she didn’t anticipate Cooper would try to mediate.

Cooper felt uneasy under her gaze, "I didn’t mean anything else."

Yolanda withdrew her gaze, and suddenly recalled what Isabella Ross said that day, she couldn’t help but wonder about her marriage with Cooper.

"Did we fight before?" she suddenly asked.

"Ah?" Cooper was surprised.

"I mean, when we were married for a year, did we argue a lot?"

Cooper shook his head.

During their year of marriage, he was always indifferent to Yolanda, and Yolanda tried to please him utterly; they didn’t argue, he didn’t even bother to talk to her.

But in Yolanda’s view, this was interpreted differently, she murmured, "I didn’t expect our relationship to be so harmonious."

She smiled bitterly, "Actually, Adam and I don’t argue much either. This time it’s really my fault, I will talk to Adam properly."

She smiled at Cooper, "Thank you."

"No need." Cooper shook his head, his heart filled with bitterness, he truly envied Adam.

After the celebration ended, Cooper and Little Gabriel escorted Yolanda’s family as they left.

After getting in the car, Little Gabriel hurriedly asked, "Dad, how was it? Did mom start disliking the bad Uncle anymore?"

"Why?" Cooper was puzzled, correcting him, "And I’ve said countless times, don’t call Uncle Sterling the bad Uncle."

"Mom and sister aren’t here, I can call him that," Little Gabriel said while folding his arms, "I just pulled away the bad Uncle, didn’t dad say more bad things about him?"

The driver, Richard Reyes, was amused.

Cooper laughed helplessly, "You kid... where did you learn such things?"

Little Gabriel looked at him honestly, "TV, grandma watches TV with that kind of plot, stupid dad should learn more."

Cooper shook his head, it seemed he’d have to remind Isabella to watch less of those things in front of the child.

He looked out the window, estimating that tonight Yolanda and Adam should be reconciled.

A wave of bitterness spread throughout his body, Cooper clenched his fists, yet he couldn’t say anything.

Suddenly, he felt someone tugging at his clothes, he turned around to see Little Gabriel looking at him.

Cooper used his large hands to pull the little guy’s head towards him, pressing him against his chest, feeling a slight sting in his nose, and thought repeatedly in his heart, "Thankfully there’s you, thankfully dad still has you."

After Yolanda and her family got home, Little Ella quickly fell asleep.

"Adam, let’s talk." Yolanda initiated, Cooper was right, speaking about some things was good for everyone.

Adam nodded.

The two of them sat on the sofa, they both started to speak at the same time, "That night..."

Then both stopped simultaneously.

"I’ll go first," Yolanda spoke again, "That night, I’m sorry, I was too reactive, I shouldn’t have... pushed you away."

Adam shook his head, "It’s not your fault, it’s me, I drank too much, you don’t need to apologize."

"Adam, I’ve been meaning to ask you," Yolanda has been curious for a long time, she intended to use this opportunity to clarify, "Before I lost my memory, we were already married, weren’t we?"

Adam silently clenched his fists, nodded, "Yes."

"Then how was our relationship back then? Was it great?" The three years she remembered had no intimacy, not even hand-holding, it really didn’t seem like a normal marriage.

"Of course." Adam lied without hesitation, he had no choice.

Yolanda nodded somewhat skeptically, "I must have loved you a lot back then, right?"

"Why do you ask?"

Yolanda furrowed her brows, "Because I’ve already had Ella and a failed marriage, if it’s not really deep love, I think... I shouldn’t have had the courage to marry so soon again."

Adam chuckled softly, but his eyes avoided meeting hers, "Maybe, probably very much in love."

Yolanda instantly felt more guilty, "Adam, believe me, give me some time, I promise I’ll remember, and I’ll certainly... love you like I did before."
