Chapter 441: Chapter 441: It Must Be the Bad Uncle Who Bullied Mom
Yolanda was home alone and had just lain down for a moment when she heard a knock at the door.
She got up to open it and was surprised to find Daisy Dawson standing there.
"Sister Yolanda, didn’t you sleep well last night? Why are your dark circles so heavy?" Daisy asked with some concern. "Have you had too many orders to handle lately?"
"It’s nothing, come in quickly." Yolanda perked up to entertain her guest.
"Never mind, I won’t go in. You should catch up on sleep," Daisy, being observant, said as she took out two magazines from her bag. "I came to deliver these to you."
Yolanda accepted them with curiosity, "What is it?"
"You’ll know when you see it," Daisy said excitedly.
Yolanda focused on the cover and saw that it was actually Little Ella. The second batch of photos they took landed on the cover, and she happily looked at Daisy, "They used these photos in the end?"
"Yes." Daisy nodded with satisfaction, "They even wanted me to go back, but I refused."
Seeing her smug expression, Yolanda couldn’t help but laugh, "Actually, you could go back. That’s the Coldson Group; it’s your dream, isn’t it?"
"No, my dream now is to follow Sister Yolanda and reach the pinnacle of life." Daisy chuckled, "I must admit, our little Ella is a born star."
With a loving face, Yolanda said, "I didn’t expect the photos to be this beautiful."
"Alright, Sister Yolanda, you should go rest. I’ll be off, see you later." Daisy quickly left.
Yolanda sat on the sofa with the magazine, looking at Ella’s photos over and over again, before she finally went to sleep.
At the kindergarten, Little Ella became the center of attention as soon as she appeared. Many children knew she was on a magazine.
"Ella, can you sign this for me?" A child handed her a notebook.
"Sure." The little girl earnestly wrote her name: Ella Greenwood, adding bunny ears above it.
"Thank you, Ella." The child was especially happy, "I have a celebrity’s autograph now, this is great."
The children’s world is just that simple; being on a magazine made Little Ella a star.
Seeing this, other children also brought notebooks and books for Little Ella to sign, until her hand was tired from signing so many.
Finally done with the autographs, she sat exhausted next to Little Gabriel, "Brother, being a star is tiring."
"Here, eat something and have a good rest." Her brother had prepared many snacks, thrilled that his sister finally came to the kindergarten.
"Hehe... Brother, you’re the best!" Little Ella started eating and insisted on signing her name on Little Gabriel’s clothing, happily saying, "Brother, this shirt can’t be washed."
"Okay." The doting brother immediately nodded in agreement.
After the excitement of being a little star wore off, Little Ella started to sigh again.
"Sister, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Little Gabriel asked with concern.
Little Ella shook her head, sighed again, and said, "Sigh, my dad and my mom had a fight. Last night, mom cried for a long time."
"A fight?" Little Gabriel’s eyes widened, "Did your dad bully your mom?"
"No, dad wouldn’t bully mom, but dad was drunk last night and may have upset mom." Little Ella scratched her head, troubled, "I don’t really understand adult matters."
Little Gabriel didn’t say anything further but kept the matter in mind. That evening, when Cooper came to pick him up, he immediately told him.
"You said that Ella’s dad and mom had a fight?"
Little Gabriel nodded vigorously, "Sister said mom soaked the pillow with her tears; it must be that bad uncle who bullied mom."
"Probably not." Cooper patted the little guy’s head. Though he hadn’t interacted much with Adam Sterling, he could tell Adam wasn’t that type of person.
Why did the two of them have a fight? Did Yolanda cry?
The more he thought about it, the more worried he became, and he said to Richard Reyes, who was driving, "The batch of photos of Ella is online, right?"
"Yes, the Children’s Wear Group said the effect is very good, and skinwear sales have reached a new high."
"Arrange for them to contact Yolanda’s family and propose a celebration party as a chance to apologize to them," Cooper was too worried and couldn’t pretend not to know.
"Okay, rest assured, President Coldson, I will notify them tonight."
Yolanda received a call the next day, personally from the head of the Children’s Wear Group.
"A celebration banquet?" She was somewhat resistant, "We don’t really need to go."
Since the incident the night before last, she and Adam had been avoiding each other, and their relationship hit its first frozen point.
"Miss Yolanda, without Ella, the celebration banquet has no meaning," the head of the Children’s Wear Group was thoroughly anxious. Assistant Reyes had made it clear, if they failed to invite the little princess’s family, he might as well resign. "Are you still upset, Miss Yolanda? Our contract is still in place, and we hope to cooperate further. If you have any needs, just say so. Please make sure to attend the celebration banquet."
"Alright, thank you." Since they spoke in such terms, Yolanda had no choice but to agree.
At dinner, she informed Adam and Little Ella about the news.
"A celebration banquet?" The little star, Little Ella, was very excited, her eyes bright as she asked, "Is it for me?"
Yolanda laughed softly, "In a way, yes. You’re certainly the star of the event."
"Awesome, awesome." The little one clapped joyfully, "Will my brother go?"
Yolanda thought for a moment and glanced at Adam before replying, "He should be going."
"Great, mom and dad will be there, and brother too, it’s perfect." Little Ella spun around in circles, "I want to wear my prettiest princess dress."
Yolanda glanced at Adam again, "Shall we all go?"
"Yes." Adam did not refuse; the incident that night made him feel a bit ashamed to face Yolanda. This occasion might be a good chance for their relationship to thaw.
The celebration banquet was set for Saturday night. Yolanda took Ella shopping for a new outfit, and the little one couldn’t be happier.
At the banquet, the head of the Children’s Wear Group immediately came forward with key staff to greet their family warmly, practically elevating Little Ella to the clouds.
After that incident, they all knew of Little Ella’s prestigious identity, though they dared not mention it. Eager to make a good impression, they silently cursed Caleb Sullivan for being incredibly foolish.
"Ella?" A clear child’s voice suddenly called out from the edge of the crowd.
Everyone quickly dispersed. The Little Prince had arrived, with Cooper right behind him. After exchanging a glance and nodding, people sensibly disappeared.
The two youngsters immediately went off to play together happily.
Yolanda and Adam both nodded towards Cooper.
"Well... Gabriel knew there was a celebration and insisted on coming when he heard his sister would be here," Cooper awkwardly explained, scanning their faces, realizing something was indeed off between them.
