Chapter 426: Chapter 426: Your President Coldson Is a Man Yolanda Greenwood Doesn’t Want

Lola Gold always disliked Caleb Sullivan acting like a lapdog; she had already mentioned it on the wedding day and hadn’t expected him to behave the same way today.

She pulled Caleb Sullivan back to his seat, "Shut up, no one’s treating you like a mute."

She glanced at the stiff Yolanda Greenwood and Cooper Coldson, and had no choice but to take the wine out of Cooper’s hand, "Alright Yolanda, stop drinking, that’s enough, enough."

At that moment, a waiter happened to come over with cutlery, so she gave the glass and the wine to the waiter, then asked Cooper, "Are you joining us to eat?"

Cooper forced himself to ignore Yolanda Greenwood’s displeased gaze and looked at the others, "Is it convenient?"

"Of course, President Coldson, please sit, it must be fate to meet you here," Caleb Sullivan spoke again, enthusiastically welcoming Cooper.

"Thank you." Cooper gave Lola a grateful smile, feeling a bit awkward as he sat down.

He was actually dining with a client nearby when Lena Watson, Richard Reyes’ wife, saw Little Ella and texted him, saying the little internet celebrity he’d been looking for was in this Western restaurant, so he came over immediately.

He turned to look at Little Ella in Lola’s arms, "Hello, Ella!"

"Hello, Uncle!" Little Ella instinctively looked at Adam Sterling and stretched out her little hands, "Daddy, hug!"

Seeing Cooper immediately reminded her of how her brother disliked her father, but she couldn’t seem to dislike this uncle, leaving her somewhat gloomy.

Adam Sterling got up and took the little one into his arms.

"President Coldson, is there anything you want to eat? I’ll order a few more dishes," Caleb Sullivan diligently offered again.

"No, I’ve just eaten, just came to say hello." Cooper quickly realized he wasn’t welcome and awkwardly stood up, "You all enjoy your meal."

He didn’t even dare to glance at Yolanda Greenwood, fearing her eyes were filled with disdain.

Lola nudged Yolanda’s foot under the table, thinking she should say something.

Yolanda was still wrapped up in Cooper taking her wine glass earlier, feeling it had crossed a line.

Seeing Lola winking at her, she didn’t try to keep Cooper, but instead placed some food on Ella’s plate, "Wasn’t Ella hungry? Eat up."

"Thank you, Mommy." Little Ella gave Cooper a sympathetic look and then looked at Yolanda, "Mommy, isn’t Uncle eating with us?"

"Didn’t you hear Uncle has something to do? We’ll eat by ourselves," Yolanda said expressionlessly.

Cooper felt a pang in his heart, knowing it would be impolite to linger any longer.

He came over intending just to see them from afar, but on seeing Yolanda being pushed to drink, he couldn’t help rushing over.

With this in mind, he discontentedly glanced at Adam Sterling before turning to leave.

As soon as Cooper left, Caleb Sullivan couldn’t help but quietly rebuke Lola Gold, "You too, why didn’t you try to keep President Coldson? He sat down, clearly wanting to eat with us."

He gave Yolanda an expressive look, feeling her earlier protective stance was simply unsightly.

"Shut your mouth, would you? You’re all President Coldson this, President Coldson that, does he pay your wages?" Lola said irritably.

"..." Caleb Sullivan sulkily dared not speak.

After a while of silent eating, he shamelessly piped up again, "Yolanda, I heard you let Ella shoot a commercial, how much can she earn?"

Lola was taken aback; she didn’t recall mentioning this to Caleb Sullivan, could he have overheard during her video call with Yolanda?

She kicked Caleb under the table again, finding his words terribly offensive.

"Why are you kicking me?" At this point, Caleb just found Yolanda irritating, more and more unlikable, "Am I wrong? Is it a non-profit commercial that Ella’s shooting? Does it earn no money?"

"There is money, but not much," Adam Sterling calmly fed Ella while smiling, "It’s not even comparable to one of Yolanda’s completed works fees; mainly, Ella likes it, so we’re just supporting her hobby."

"Are Yolanda’s jewelry designs that expensive?" Caleb asked, somewhat dismissively. He remembered Yolanda gifting a set to Lola, which he pegged at twenty or thirty thousand at most, "The set Lola has doesn’t seem worth much."

"You must be out of your mind!" Lola was utterly enraged, "That set of jewelry, if I resell it now, would go for at least a hundred thousand, what vision do you have?"

"Fifty thousand?" Caleb was shocked but still skeptical, "Really?"

"Caleb Sullivan!" Lola put down her chopsticks; she was so angry she was full, if it weren’t for Yolanda’s family being there, she would have stormed off, "Can you shut up?"

"Lola, it’s normal for a man like Caleb to not understand jewelry, don’t bother with him." Yolanda tried to smooth things over again.

She could naturally sense Caleb’s hostility, knowing he was insecure, and didn’t bother with him, "For this jewelry exhibition, if you have time, both of you should come."

"Thanks, Yolanda, sure, let him broaden his horizons." Lola glared at Caleb, then continued picking at her food.

After it ended, the two families parted at the restaurant’s entrance.

Once they got in the car, Lola couldn’t help but curse, "Caleb Sullivan, are you nuts? Inviting us here today just to pick a fight?"

"I didn’t." Caleb refused to admit it.

"Let me tell you, Yolanda is my best friend, Ella is my goddaughter, if you dare speak ill of them again, I’ll tear your mouth apart." Lola was fuming.

"Lola, you’re too naive, do you really believe the jewelry Yolanda gave you is worth a million?" Caleb scoffed, "How could it be? Besides, jewelry prices are inflated, everyone hypes them up, if you all don’t buy them, they’re just rocks."

Lola was truly exasperated, "Caleb Sullivan, with an attitude like yours, you’re a vice president? Is your company blind?"

"Our company?" Caleb chuckled vainly, "If they were blind, other companies would have to shut down."

He glanced at Lola, "Alright, don’t be angry anymore, let me tell you, that Yolanda could start her own company means she has some money; Adam Sterling is from the military, their family isn’t poor, but having money and spending it are different, otherwise, why would they sell their daughter?"

"What are you saying?" Lola was truly enraged, "Sell their daughter? Do you know..."

She truly wanted to say, do you know that the wealthy man you address as President is the man Yolanda doesn’t want, Ella’s biological father?

Sometimes she really felt she couldn’t communicate with Caleb, "Stop the car!"

"What’s up?"

"I want to get off, I don’t want to sit in a car with someone as blind as you, stop the car, I want to get off!"

"Don’t make a fuss, I was wrong, I was wrong, isn’t that enough?" Caleb hurriedly admitted his mistake, "It’s late, let’s go back and rest early, need to work tomorrow."
