Chapter 406: Chapter 406: Let’s Pretend Not to Know Each Other When We Meet Again
"Sorry, sorry." Yolanda apologized repeatedly.
The shop owner waved it off and closed the shop door.
"Lola, don’t be upset. Actually, the clothes in that shop aren’t very new, but they’re washed really clean..." Yolanda tried to comfort Lola Gold.
"Forget it, I’m only getting married once. I can’t let my goddaughter and godson dress in rags at my wedding." Lola Gold put Little Ella down and squatted in front of the two children, "Godmother will take the money and bring you to rent the prettiest clothes, okay?"
Little Ella said sweetly, "Godmother, you’ll be the prettiest tomorrow, so we don’t need to wear the prettiest clothes. We can actually wear our own clothes."
She turned to ask Little Gabriel, "Right, brother?"
"Yeah." Facing Lola Gold, Little Gabriel was still somewhat shy, "I can wear anything."
"What good children." Lola Gold felt a wave of warmth in her heart, "Alright, then Godmother will take you to rent the second most beautiful little dresses in the world, okay?"
"Lola..." Yolanda wanted to stop her, knowing that Lola Gold spent quite a lot on the wedding with Caleb Sullivan, and she didn’t want Lola Gold to spend even more.
"Alright, Yolanda, it’s my wedding, my ceremony, my say." Lola Gold raised her chin, "Everyone follow me, let’s go."
She immediately hailed a taxi and went to a large shopping mall, "There’s a dress rental shop here. I’ve passed by many times, it must be good."
No matter how Yolanda tried to persuade her, she wouldn’t listen, and finally dragged everyone to that shop.
Sure enough, it was a very upscale clothing rental store. Many of the wedding dresses and gifts were high-end branded, quality was impeccable, and service was top-notch too.
The attendant heard it was for the two little ones renting outfits for flower children and immediately said they had them.
"Wait a moment, I’ll get them. We have many styles, you can take your time to pick, and if the size is too off, we can make simple alterations."
Lola Gold found it reliable and immediately winked at Yolanda.
Yolanda helplessly whispered, "Renting these two outfits could just as well buy one for each of them."
"I don’t mind." Lola Gold was in a great mood, actually, renting these two outfits wouldn’t cost much, but the set of wedding jewelry Yolanda gifted was worth enough to buy the most expensive outfit here.
Though the economic difference between her and Yolanda was evident, she couldn’t overdo it.
Indeed, the little dresses brought by the assistant were exceptionally pretty, and the two little ones quickly picked individual sets, though sizes differed slightly.
The attendant said it’s no problem, they could simply adjust it and they could come back to pick it up in the afternoon.
"Great, thank you, thank you so much." Lola Gold was in a good mood.
Unexpectedly, once they left the shop, they ran into an acquaintance.
"Hello Miss Adams!" Little Ella greeted first.
Little Gabriel just silently looked at Elsie Adams and didn’t speak, obediently standing beside Yolanda.
"You’re the kindergarten Teacher Adams, right?" Lola Gold finally recognized her, "Why? Not working today?"
She didn’t know Elsie Adams had been fired, and today both Little Ella and Little Gabriel had been excused from kindergarten.
Elsie Adams silently bit her lip, not answering Lola Gold’s question, nor acknowledging Little Ella. Instead, she bent down and smiled at Little Gabriel, "Gabriel, why not greet your teacher? Don’t you recognize Teacher Adams anymore?"
Little Gabriel stepped back, hiding half his body behind Yolanda.
Elsie Adams stood up, coldly looking at Yolanda, "Miss Greenwood, could we speak in private?"
Yolanda knew anything Elsie Adams said upon seeing her with Little Gabriel wouldn’t be good, but she didn’t want the kids to hear, so she nodded.
"Is everything okay?" At that moment, Lola Gold also realized Elsie Adams wasn’t friendly.
"It’s fine, watch over the two of them." Yolanda gently squeezed Lola Gold’s arm and followed Elsie Adams aside.
Elsie Adams sneered, "Seems you know everything now, did you remember, or did someone tell you?"
Yolanda tugged at her mouth, "Seems Teacher Adams knows quite a lot too."
"Of course." Elsie Adams couldn’t help but grit her teeth, "Did you... have a reunion with Cooper Coldson?"
"Teacher Adams... no, that’s not right," Yolanda shook her head, "Now should call you Miss Adams. Miss Adams, if you’re curious, why not ask Cooper Coldson yourself?"
"Yolanda, have you no shame?" Elsie Adams was somewhat exasperated, "You’ve remarried, why continue to pester Cooper Coldson? Are you planning to divorce again? Even if you divorced, do you think the Coldson Family would accept you?"
She glared at Yolanda, "Have some dignity. If I were you, I’d take Ella and leave Gray City, as far as possible, disappearing forever."
Yolanda smiled and shook her head, "Miss Adams, I know you’re anxious, but don’t rush. As you said, I’ve indeed remarried, and have no plans to divorce in the short term. As for Cooper Coldson and me, even if we reconciled, we’re merely the children’s parents, we won’t be together again."
"Of course," she looked sympathetically at Elsie Adams, "as for whether Cooper Coldson will accept you, why he won’t, I suppose are your concerns, unrelated to me. Now that you are no longer Ella’s teacher, when we meet again let’s pretend not to know each other."
Having spoken, Yolanda turned and left.
Elsie Adams clenched her fists in hatred, thought of something, and immediately took out her phone, snapping a picture of Yolanda leading Little Ella and Little Gabriel’s backs. Once they were gone, she returned to the entrance of the shop and pushed the door open.
"Elsie, why are you only now arriving?" It turned out the shop owner was Elsie’s good friend Mina Stone.
"What outfits did those two adults order for the children who just left?" Elsie Adams asked directly.
"Just now?" Mina Stone paused to recall, "Oh, oh, it was dresses for the two kids as flower children, for the wedding. Do you know them? Those two kids are really stunning. I’m even planning to ask for some photos for shop promotions."
She noticed Elsie Adams’ face wasn’t right, "What’s wrong?"
"Did you remember I told you Cooper Coldson has an ex-wife?" Elsie Adams slumped onto the sofa, "It’s that woman named Yolanda."
"Ah?" Mina Stone widened her eyes in surprise.
"What outfits did they order?"
"This..." Mina Stone was evidently wary of Elsie Adams having crooked intentions, "Elsie, it’s not easy running this shop, if any issue arises with rented clothing..."
"Relax, I won’t harm you. Those two kids are different, even if problems occur, it won’t affect you." Elsie Adams saw Mina Stone still hesitating and continued, "Mina, if I marry Cooper Coldson, your shop can expand as much as you want, and supplies won’t be an issue. I’ll even invest in it."
