Chapter 405: Obviously Feeling Unwelcome

Chapter 405: Chapter 405: Obviously Feeling Unwelcome

The day before the wedding, Lola Gold sought Yolanda Greenwood’s opinion, "Yolanda, how about having both Little Gabriel and Little Ella as my flower children?"

"Having Gabriel too?" Yolanda seemed a bit hesitant.

Lola Gold immediately assured, "I’ll talk to Cooper about Gabriel, just say yes."

Yolanda smiled, "I don’t have any objections; of course, I’d love for the two kids to spend more time together."

"Alright, then I’ll call Cooper now, he should agree too." Lola Gold turned and made the call.

As expected, she soon returned with a smile, "Cooper agreed, he’ll bring Gabriel over soon."

"That’s good." Yolanda nodded.

Lola Gold was evidently very pleased, "I’ll go inform Caleb to find a decent clothing rental to get them two nice outfits."

"Looks are secondary; the quality should be good, otherwise, if they’re uncomfortable, they won’t say anything." Yolanda reminded her.

"Got it." Lola Gold went to the bedroom to call Caleb Sullivan.

After about half an hour, Cooper Coldson arrived with Little Gabriel.

"Brother, come in quickly." Little Ella personally led him inside and said to Cooper, "Goodbye Uncle Coldson."

Cooper Coldson was briefly taken aback, clearly sensing he wasn’t welcomed; Yolanda stood at the door without any intention of inviting him in, and Ella had already bid him farewell.

He tugged at the corner of his mouth, unable to say much more, "Alright then, please take good care of Gabriel today, I’ll attend the wedding tomorrow too."

"No problem, then I won’t see you off." Yolanda saw the flash of hurt across Cooper’s face and added, "See you tomorrow."

Just as the door was about to close, Lola Gold happened to come out.

"Wait a moment." Cooper suddenly stopped the door, "Is Lola at home? Can you ask her to come out? I have something to discuss with her."

"Oh, okay." Yolanda went back inside to fetch Lola Gold.

"What’s up?" Lola Gold asked curiously as soon as she came out.

Cooper looked at her with a hesitant expression.

Lola Gold frowned, "President Coldson, you weren’t one to beat around the bush before, so what’s happened? Need a favor from me?"

Cooper shook his head, then sighed and spoke, "Uncle is coming back tonight."

"Christopher Coldson?" Lola was startled, realizing she hadn’t thought of him for a long time, so long that everything between them felt like a past life.

"Yes, somehow he heard about your wedding and called me." Cooper immediately distanced himself, "I swear, I didn’t say anything."

Lola chuckled, "How amusing, what does it matter to me if he comes back or not? My marriage is none of his business."

"Indeed, it really doesn’t matter anymore." Cooper tugged at his mouth, "I’m telling you just so you mentally prepare yourself..."

"What? Would he dare to crash the wedding?" Lola shook her head disdainfully, "He doesn’t have the courage or the capability."

On the surface, she appeared totally indifferent, "Anyway, thanks for telling me, see you at the wedding tomorrow."

After Cooper left, Yolanda and Lola took the two little ones to rent outfits for the flower children.

On the way, Lola was somewhat apologetic, "This time, godmother can only help you rent a set, but in the future when godmother has money, I’ll definitely buy each of you a little gown, okay?"

"Okay." The two little ones didn’t mind at all, replying in unison, with Gabriel seeming much livelier when with Ella.

"Yolanda, don’t worry, I talked to Caleb, we’ll definitely rent two good sets of outfits, I won’t let them suffer." Lola said with a smile.

"Who said rented clothes are a hardship?" Yolanda shook her head, "As long as they’re clean and of good quality, there’s no problem."

She stroked the heads of the two little ones, "They won’t mind either."

"You’re both so great." Lola was incredibly happy; she checked her GPS, "Almost there, we’re nearly at the place godfather found."

About ten minutes later, the taxi stopped, and they got out, only to find the surroundings a bit rundown.

"It should be up ahead." Lola felt slightly uneasy, opened the map, and led the way.

Yolanda held Little Ella with one hand and Little Gabriel with the other, following behind. In fact, what she was worried about was if there was any damaged or sharp area on the rented clothes, the two kids, suffering from congenital insensitivity to pain, wouldn’t notice, which could lead to injuries.

Therefore, as long as the quality is sufficient and they are safe to wear, she had no objections.

Soon, following the address Caleb Sullivan gave, Lola found the place, which turned out to be an inconspicuous clothing rental store.

Standing at the door, she hesitated whether to enter, "Yolanda, maybe... we should go somewhere else?"

"Let’s go in and see; the quality of the clothes might be good." Yolanda led the two kids inside first.

"What kind of clothes do you want to rent?" The store owner, a woman in her forties, glanced over her guests, only getting up unwillingly when she saw they were well-dressed, "Do you want to rent clothes for what occasion?"

Yolanda smiled and nodded, "Looking to rent little gowns for two kids to wear as flower children."

The owner looked at Little Ella and Little Gabriel, rare to show a smile, "Are they your kids? They’re really beautiful, just like the little stars on posters, but..."

She smirked, "There aren’t too many clothes for kids this small, let me bring some for you to see."

"Thanks, sister." Yolanda looked back at Lola Gold.

"Yolanda, maybe we should just forget it and find another place." Lola still had a sense of foreboding.

"No worries, let’s take a look first." Yolanda gestured with her eyes for her to be patient.

Soon, the owner brought a few outfits over, and Lola, with just a glance from afar, was immediately infuriated; she turned and went out to make a phone call.

"Caleb Sullivan, what’s the meaning of this?" she yelled as soon as the call connected.

"What’s wrong?"

"What’s wrong? How dare you ask what’s wrong?" Lola was beyond upset, "Didn’t I tell you to rent nice clothes for Gabriel and Ella, then what kind of place did you find?"

"Lola, we’ve already spent a lot on the wedding, we can’t be extravagant anymore, plus, they’re just flower children, if they don’t like the gowns, they only need to wear them for a short while until the ceremony ends, then take them off; it’s really not worth..."

Lola didn’t want to hear any more and hung up the phone directly.

Fuming, she returned to the store, scooping up Little Ella and leading Little Gabriel out, "Yolanda, let’s go, we’ll find another place."

Seeing this, the proprietor couldn’t help but curse from behind, "If you have money, what are you doing coming to a place like this? Go, go, leave quickly."
