Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Are these two both your children?
After returning to kindergarten, Little Ella and Little Gabriel exchanged gifts, and both little ones were especially happy.
Especially Little Gabriel, who carefully secured Baby Bunny between the pages of a book and then put the book into his backpack, not allowing anyone near it.
Elsie watched from a distance, feeling indescribably sad. The two are only close because of their blood relationship, but Little Ella is not the key to opening Little Gabriel’s heart; in fact, Little Ella clinging to Gabriel is preventing him from making new friends.
In the afternoon, she tried to separate the two little ones. Although Little Ella was unwilling, she was always obedient, and had to be with someone else.
As for Little Gabriel, whenever someone else was with him, he maintained the same attitude, not even looking, with his eyes always following Little Ella.
Elsie clenched her teeth in frustration.
Finally, when it was time for school to let out, she discovered Little Ella had not come out with her backpack.
Elsie thought it was strange; usually, Little Ella was the first to leave with her backpack at dismissal. She called out from a distance, "Ella, it’s time to go home."
"I know, thank you, Teacher Adams." Little Ella continued sitting, not moving, and spoke to Little Gabriel, "Brother, today let’s go home together; Mom will come to pick me up a little later."
Little Gabriel’s eyes lit up, and he nodded happily.
Soon, all the other children in the classroom had left, leaving only Little Ella and Little Gabriel.
Elsie grew increasingly uneasy and approached them, asking, towering overhead, "Ella, school’s out, why aren’t you leaving? Where’s your mom?"
"I’ll leave with Brother later," Little Ella replied, looking up with her little head.
Elsie frowned. "What do you mean? I’ll call your mom right now!"
"Mom’s in the café across the street," Little Ella looked at Elsie timidly, not understanding why she felt afraid, "Mom agreed I’d leave with Brother after his dad arrives, then I will go find Mom."
Elsie’s expression looked more troubled, but she had no reason to force Little Ella to leave, especially since Little Gabriel was looking at her with clear displeasure.
She thought for a moment, then smiled and said, "All right then, I’ll take you to find your mom; Gabriel’s dad will come a little later."
"Okay." Little Ella happily looked at Little Gabriel, "Brother, should we go find Mom first, okay?"
"Okay." Little Gabriel nodded, put on his backpack, and held Little Ella’s hand.
Elsie silently gritted her teeth and took the two little ones to the café, where they indeed found Yolanda Greenwood waiting.
"Teacher Adams, Ella, Gabriel, why are you here?" She asked, approaching them with confusion.
"The two kids wanted to leave together, so I brought them over," Elsie made a gesture to Yolanda Greenwood, "Miss Greenwood, I have some things to talk about..."
"All right, Teacher Adams, please wait a moment." Yolanda Greenwood arranged for the two little ones to sit down and ordered some small cakes for them, "Stay here just like this, don’t go anywhere, okay?"
The two little ones nodded in unison.
A passing lady playfully remarked, "Oh, are these both your children? How adorable, you’re truly blessed."
Yolanda Greenwood paused, looking at the two, seeing the two little ones smiling at her.
She reached out and gently patted Ella’s little head, hesitated for a moment, then also caressed Gabriel’s, "Be good, I’ll be back soon."
Little Ella and Little Gabriel exchanged a smile and began eating the small cakes together.
Yolanda Greenwood took another glance at the two children, feeling an inexplicable emotion and thoughtfully went to find Elsie.
"Teacher Adams, I’m sorry, have I troubled you again?"
Elsie pulled a corner of her mouth, her expression already showing some impatience, "Miss Greenwood, have a seat; I heard from Ella that you want the two children to leave together?"
"..." Yolanda Greenwood thought for a moment and explained, "I think Gabriel waiting alone every day in the classroom might feel a bit lonely."
"Miss Greenwood, I believe I’ve mentioned to you that Gabriel has autism." Elsie’s expression and tone were very serious.
Yolanda Greenwood quickly nodded, "I know."
"So, his staying behind alone has a reason; I hope Miss Greenwood doesn’t think about a patient with a common mindset, or even believe herself to be considerate of others."
"Sorry, Teacher Adams, I might have..."
Elsie interrupted her, "To be honest with you, I am actually a child psychology expert; I was specifically brought here by Mr. Coldson to take care of Gabriel, so Miss Greenwood, please cooperate and don’t keep having all those chaotic ideas about going home together, eating together... Gabriel does not need that."
"But..." Yolanda Greenwood furrowed her brow, "but Gabriel is clearly very happy with Ella..."
Elsie interrupted Yolanda Greenwood again, "Is Miss Greenwood questioning my expertise? If you think my methods are problematic and believe you can help Gabriel recover faster, you can directly go to Mr. Coldson."
At that moment, Elsie’s phone rang; it was Cooper Coldson calling.
Elsie thrust the phone towards Yolanda Greenwood, "What do you think, Miss Greenwood; are you going to take this call right now and tell Mr. Coldson to replace me with you?"
"No, I did not mean that." Yolanda Greenwood apologized, waving her hands in regret.
Elsie went to the side to take the call, and soon returned, "I have to take Gabriel home."
"All right, Teacher Adams, sorry for the trouble today; we’ll be more careful in the future." Yolanda Greenwood indeed did not understand much of these things and kept apologizing.
Elsie found Little Gabriel, "Gabriel, Dad is here, let’s go."
Upon hearing that, Little Ella quickly jumped off the chair, "I want to go too, I want to meet Gabriel’s dad."
"You’re not allowed to!" Elsie scolded.
Little Gabriel immediately shook off Elsie’s hand, shielding Little Ella behind him, glaring at Elsie with discontent.
Yolanda Greenwood hurriedly stepped forward, "Gabriel, be good, nothing’s wrong with your sister; hurry and go back with Teacher Adams, and I’ll also take your sister home, be good, go!"
Little Ella’s eyes were a bit red, but she didn’t cry, she held back tears and bid farewell to her brother, "Goodbye, Brother!"
"Gabriel, let’s go." Elsie reached out again for Little Gabriel, but he didn’t cooperate with her at all.
She sighed and looked at Yolanda Greenwood with some resentment, then turned to walk outside, "Let’s go, Gabriel, Dad’s waiting for you."
Little Gabriel waved goodbye to his sister before reluctantly following Elsie away.
Once the two of them left, Little Ella leaned on Yolanda Greenwood’s shoulder and started crying, "Mom..."
"There, there!" Yolanda Greenwood gently patted Little Ella’s back, "It’s okay, Mom knows Ella wants to go home with Brother, but Teacher Adams said Brother is ill, and can’t leave with Ella. So, let’s be good and go home separately from now on, okay?"
"Is Brother sick?" Big tears rolled down the little one’s face as she asked with red eyes, "Is it serious?"
